Constables Cottage is a truly unique two bedroom cottage, an earth home, built into the hillside and hidden away next to the beach and the tunnel which inspired Lewis Carrol to write Alice in Wonderland. The cottage is at the bottom of beautiful Kemp Town Enclosures, the largest private gardens in England and a wonderfully relaxing and exclusive part of historic Brighton. The tunnel also once connected the gardens to the Chain Pier, the subject of paintings by Turner and Constable.
One of only two cottages at the end of the tunnel leading from the beach to Kemptown Enclosures, Constables Cottage is as close as you can get to the sea in Brighton. The cottage benefits from sea views from all windows and private access to the historic gardens.
Coming in through the front door, brings you into a bright, open plan living space and kitchen/diner which has a comfortable corner sofa with chaise, opposite the TV with a DVD player. A wonderful space to relax, unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. The elegant wooden dining table with six chairs is the perfect space to relax with a morning coffee and plan your day, while looking out to sea.
There’s a well equipped kitchen area. Here you will have use of an electric oven and hob, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer.
The sea view master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed with matching bedside tables. There's also a dressing table and chair and a wardrobe. The peaceful, sea view second bedroom has a double bed, bedsides, a wicker chair and a wardrobe. The large family bathroom consists of a bath, separate walk-in shower cubicle, basin and WC.
We provide fresh white bedding and towels as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap.
The property is professionally cleaned and the linen/ towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. We offer remote access with easy self check-in and 24/7 guest support should you need any assistance during your stay.
Guests will have access to the entire cottage.
Access is via a front door from the historic tunnel which leads from the gated gardens.
