About this property
ROCHE HOUSE, pet friendly, with a garden in Shepley

Roche R&R is a lovely bungalow located at the end of a private road in the village of Shepley, West Yorkshire. The layout of the property, with a fantastic open-plan living space, wide hallway, wide doors, large master bedroom and ensuite and light switches at low level means, as well as being a lovely space for a family holiday, it is also an ideal haven for those with limited mobility or who may be wheelchair bound. The bungalow is designed with soft colours and pretty country fabrics creating a beautiful home away from home for the duration of your stay. As you enter the property you will find an original old church pew where you can sit and take off your shoes and coat before entering the open plan living space. The large kitchen area, with a breakfast bar, table and comfy sofa leads on through an open archway into the lounge with its large sofas and armchairs and the more formal dining area looking out onto the garden. The property also has a level wrap around garden, with different areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine, for children and dogs to play and if the weather is kind, for some alfresco dining. Roche R&R has 3 good sized bedrooms, in particular the master. The bed, a super king size, can be split into 2 single and has the added function of being an adjustable bed for older guests or those with mobility issues. The master leads on to the ensuite with both a jacuzzi bath and a walk-in shower. Again, there is plenty of room for anyone with reduced mobility or who needs additional equipment. The second bedroom, at the rear of the property, is also of a good size with a bed that can be a super king or made into twin beds. Opposite this is the third bedroom with a double bed. Between the bedrooms, the family bathroom with both bath and over bath shower. Shepley is a beautiful village, with plenty of walks straight out of the door into the West Yorkshire countryside. The centre of the village is less than a third of a mile away, a five-minute walk. There you will find the local Co-op, a friendly coffee shop and the village pub the Black Bull, together with other services such as hairdressers, beauticians and even physiotherapists to name but a few! Walk a little further and you will reach The Farmers Boy pub at the top of the village. Shepley is just a few miles away from famous Last of the Summer Wine Country and the village of Holmfirth and surrounding villages and countryside full of Yorkshire charm. The journey to Holmfirth being around 10 minutes by car, or you can get there by bus from the centre of the village. Holmfirth is full of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and somewhere all members of the family will enjoy. The whole area surrounding Shepley is filled with beautiful countryside, perfect for walks, bike rides, and exploring. There are local farm shops selling beautiful local fresh produce and some very good and well-known restaurants on the doorstep, including The 3 Acres, The Dunkirk, and Yummy Yorkshire, where the children can have breakfast and then ice cream – always a winner. Cannon Hall Farm is nearby, a great day out for all the family and there are many other children and adult attractions within easy reach, The National Coal Mining Museum, The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Barbara Hepworth Museum just a few examples.
