Lounge in the comfortable sunroom and admire the gorgeous views and peaceful atmosphere. Huge master bedroom with jack and jill attached bathroom to corner room with twin beds. Bunk room great for young kids. 4th bedroom with full sized bed and last but not least, 5th bedroom with attached shared bathroom. Spectacular beach views from master and 5th bedroom. Gear heart Birthday Celebration

The perfect size house for our group. Everyone had their own space, common areas were comfy. Very relaxing. My favorite spot was the sun porch with its amazing views. Easy walk to and along the beach. Short drive to Seaside. It was lovely going to sleep to the sound of the ocean. Will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Perfect beach property for a family holiday

A lovely old house with lots of character on the sandy Gearhart beach and close to the charming village. We have stayed here multiple times and hope to again. The owners are a pleasure to deal with.

Great place for 4 couples or families

We were 3 couples who live on a golf course and play golf and cards together. This house was perfect for that. The views and the sunsets were unsurpassed. The kitchen and the dining room were well stocked except the oven could use cleaning. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy towels. The house is large and full of history.......if only walls could talk. I hope that we get an opportunity to rent it again.

Lovey Cottage Stay

My 5 sisters and I enjoyed staying in this spacious cottage by the sea. We were very surprised at how much room the house had! The views from the house were amazing and offered us beautiful sunrises and sunsets each day. The host was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions, promptly. It is easy to get to and in a great location for touring near by towns. We loved our stay and we're looking forward to coming back!

Great home for family gathering.

Home is good size for a group. Lots of room to navigate. Beds comfy, retro kitchen is fun, easy walk to the beach through grass. Would stay again! Thank you for opening your home to us!

Great house for a group

This was the perfect house for our group of seven people. I like being out of the busy Seaside area and in a quieter neighborhood. There was construction going on next door, but we were usually gone most of the day so it didn’t really bother us. We had everything we needed for a nice stay.

Family Time

Great neighborhood, loved the coffee/bakery/gift shop. The house was big and quirky in places. Our Grandkids loved it. We went to the beach everyday and our dogs loved it, so beautiful. The beach was about 3 blocks away straight out from the house.

Great location, plenty of space

Pros: The house is in a beautiful location with a great view of the ocean and a nice path down to the beach. There was plenty of room for our group of seven. Marcia was great about keeping in touch and answering questions--including specifying that there's a Tesla EV charger onsite that can be used by non-Tesla cars, as long as you have an adapter. Cons: The house and some of the small appliances are showing their age. For reasons unexplained, we were required to wait till we actually arrived at the house to receive check-in information.

Gearhart Beach Trip

Fantastic view from the sunroom, nice open living room, and dining room. The Home is in a great location, and quiet area. However, the sofa in the sunroom was dirty, and had a stain that was uninviting, so we did not sit on it. The two chairs in the living room had old blankets over them, and below them were holy chairs. We put a quilt over the sofa in the living room, as it was dirty, and odorous. The kitchen needs some updated appliances, like a newer coffee pot, toaster, and pots and pans that aren't rusty. We found dirty pans in the cupboard we had to wash before using. The bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs were nice, with nice views. We would consider staying again, if these things were addressed. Overall we had a nice stay at the property. Thank you.

Home in Gearhart

We had a siblings Reunion at Marcia‘s place. It was fabulous with plenty of room for everyone. We got to see six huge elk the last morning of our visit. Also, a couple of whales breaching out in the water. We saw some whale spouts as well. It’s a short walk into town, and about a 10 minute walk down to the water. We all agreed, that we have never stayed at a place that was so well stocked. I highly recommend this house for a wonderful vacation!

Beach House

Our stay at this Gearhart beach home was great. The location of this house is perfect. The vista from the back porch was all you could ask for. We enjoyed the 5 minute walk down to the beach and the beach itself provides endless entertainment. From gathering razor clams (with a permit) to walking along the beach while picking up sand dollars. The large table in the dining room was just right for meals, puzzles and games. The house has enough bedrooms for all and was extremely clean when we arrived. Our family, covering three generations, had a wonderful time. The only issue was a refrigerator that struggled to keep food cold, but we spoke to the owner and she said they will get it fixed.

Wonderful house near expansive sandy beach

I feel like the pictures of this house don't do it justice. The sun room in particular is an absolutely amazing room where I spent most of my indoor time. The kitchen is just the right amount of quirky and very large for preparing meals for our family of six (my only complaint about the kitchen is that the fridge did not feel very cold even at the coldest setting). The bathrooms are all very nice. The four non-bunkbed bedrooms are all very nice with really nice mattresses. The living room is large and comfy. The location is perfect if you like an expansive sandy beach. It's a bit of a walk to get there through the grassy trails (and be sure to wear shoes/slides, lots of thorns!) but so worth it since even the trails themselves are beautiful. The trails will also take you to the estuary, though it's a bit of a trick to find the trails that give you access down the cliff to the sandy beach at the estuary. Up north of the house, there is an area that allows cars on the sand, but that's easy to avoid since there's plenty of beach south of that and amazing hiking trails are short drives from the house (Ecola, Fort Clatsop, Fort Stevens to name a few). We walked/hiked miles upon miles upon miles during our stay at Gearhart and enjoyed it so much!

The Best of Gearhart

Great beach home! From its unbeatable ocean view to the historic feel of the house. Plenty of room and enjoyable quirkiness of days gone by. Loved the stove! Loved watching the skies at night and early morning from the master bedroom window. Walking distance to coffee and a great deli. Melody was so nice to us, it was just an all around good time.

Very Nice

We had a great time at this lovely and somewhat funky house. The size was perfect for our gathering with enough space for people to spread out and to gather together. The hosts were responsive and very nice and I would be more than happy to deal with them and stay here again. To make the place even better, I would suggest adding some new comfortable furniture - or just some new slipcovers and pillows here and there. We all really enjoyed the view! Thank you for sharing your house!

Fabulous family weekend

Our adult sons along with their wives and our grandchildren had a great weekend stay at Marcia’s home in Gearhart. The home is quaint, had plenty of space for meals for all 7 adults, 2 highchair babies and our 3 year old granddaughter. The 3 year old enjoyed the toys in the cupboard and although it rained the whole weekend we were there to just enjoy each other’s company and play games so it all worked out great. All beds were very comfortable, the house was very clean and the shower heads great with plenty of hot water for everyone and nice tub time for the babies. We took advantage of the Weber bbq and having that available for use. Hopefully next time we stay here we can use the bikes provided for a sunny ride about town! We would definitely stay there again! Thank you Marcia for being a great hostess!!
