Our daughter’s wedding

We chose this property as a home base for out of town friends and family for our daughter’s wedding. The home created the perfect space for entertaining, enjoying conversations, relaxing, and staging for the wedding at a close venue. It was perfect in every way and we hope to return.

Amazing time.

We had an amazing time. Only thing I wished I knew before hand, was the property manager lives on the 3rd floor. It did not bother us. Just scared the crap out of us when we first got there and heard someone walking around.

As advertised

10 of us were in town for a convention and the location worked perfectly. Rooms were large and plenty of space to put our things. Kitchen was well stocked for our needs. Had some difficulty with the television but that could have been the result of a storm with strong winds that rolled through. Location was an easy trip to the convention center.

Family vacation

The pictures of the property don’t prepare you for the size. This place is huge absolutely a mansion. We found we were very close to most everything we wanted to visit. Our visits included the zoo, science center, Hallmark, and The rabbit hole to name a few. Wonderful BBQ at Q39. Great fun in KC.

Millionaire’s Row

Definitely an area steeped in history, this home is a relic of one of Kansas City’s first neighborhoods. Huge bedrooms with plenty of space to spread out. Fun putting green in the sun room. Ample protected parking in the rear of the home. Our host also gave us some great recommendations on local eateries. An experience to remember!

Cousins reunion

The house was absolutely beautiful and had plenty of room for the eight of us. Most of the places we went to in Kansas City were within 20 minutes or less so it was a great location. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful house with character in great location

The Wright Manor is a wonderful house with such character. 10 of us stayed preparing for our daughter's wedding and it was fabulous. The neighborhood may be viewed as questionable but we never felt unsafe. And it is so close to everything!! The house has its quirks but it was built in 1897 and that just added to the charm. We do recommend reading the book about the house when you arrive so you know how everything works. We would definitely stay again!

KC trip

Nice quiet neighborhood. Other then the house being beautiful, there was more then enough room for the group of 7 that stayed. The house was perfectly located a short car ride away from downtown for plenty of activities.

A brief description about myself:
I’m a freelance musician: composer, arranger, conductor, bassist, author, radio personality, and the creator of the Orchestre Surreal where I use the pseudonym Elvis Schoenberg, it’s a 30 piece orchestra where I mash classic rock songs with iconic classical, jazz, and film music. the group performs regularly throughout southern California.
I’ve been the recipient of several awards including:
Best Orchestral Arranger: LA Music Awards
Best Music Direction, For Frank Zappa’s “Joe’s Garage” by The Ticket Holder’s Awards.
Best Composition at the American-Romanian Music Days Festival.

I’ve written music for films, television, and the stage.
My concert music has been performed internationally by various chamber music groups.
My ‘Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra” was recently recorded by the Chamber Orchestra at St. Matthew’s and put to video, and was up for Grammy consideration:

Also a novelist, my first published work, a sci-fi novel “Falling From Eden, Inc.” After receiving the runner up in the sci-fi category at the Los Angeles Book Festival and the first honorable mention at the New England book festival.
It made it onto the Amazon international bestseller list:

I’m also an exercise junky, I workout daily and I teach group fitness classes at Gold’s Gym.

I've traveled all over the world usually with bands or various music gigs. So often my stay was short. I like learning about the history of places and the weirder and more tumultuous the stories the better. I remember going to Malta that had a surprisingly interesting history.

Why they chose this property

Why this property?
When I first saw this property I thought what a fantastic place. Even though it was in need of a lot of repair, It had such an amazing character that I wanted to see it brought back to life and have it flourish again. It took a lot of work, and we are still constantly improving things.
It’s an awesome house that was built by the finest craftsmen of their day. There are all kinds of hidden gems, the leaded glass windows, the wood floors that in some rooms are all one plank long and have no seams.

What makes this property unique

The house is large and gives families and groups the opportunity to all congregate and experience being together in one place and still have a lot of space to do separate activities.
The patio has a BBQ and is a nice place to be when the weather is nice. When the weather gets colder there are seven fireplaces: five downstairs and two upstairs in each of the corner bedrooms.
In the parlor is a piano for the musically inclined.
There is an indoor putting green if you want to practice your short game.
In general it’s a fun space to be in.
