Cute little cottage

Lots of room for all of us. We stayed mainly at our friend's home down the road. Tiny air conditioner really did a nice job since it was so hot and humid outside.

Cool little lake. A little busy but that's expected during July 4th. Great price. Great amenities. Peaceful inside and out by the firepit.

13th birthday request

This is the cutest house on a lake, up north, my daughter's 13th bday request. Restaurants close, we also went tubing on the wolf river. I would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you Angela!

Great cabin, great location.

We booked this cabin because we had friends nearby that we were visiting and ended up spending most of our time here. The cabin has everything we needed and is very clean. The lake is right out the door and is crystal clear. We had a lot of fun with the paddle boat. It is on a quiet road and easy for walks. It is great that they allow dogs, hard to find places that do. We meet the owners and their parents/in-law's and they were very friendly. We will be back.

Very CLEAN and so quiet

We spent our New Year's weekend here. It was very clean and so very quiet. It is located in a perfect place to venture out to do some site seeing. The amenities were very good. Everything you would need, is there. We had a fantastic steak and crab legs dinner right at the kitchen table. The bed was very comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank You !

Our cabin stay

Location was good. Didn't have to drive all day, We found everything clean and neat as stated on line. Unfortunately, we had to shorten our stay because of a death in the family. The weather did not cooperate either Both of which there was not any control over. A few changes would make it easier for handicapped or elderly people (steps and shower). We would recommend this cabin

Peaceful Cabin

The Cabin location was ideal to me since I was looking for lakefront property for the kiddos to swim. It was also quiet, even know there were properties pretty close. It was a nice little getaway for the family before School started back up. Taking the small rowboat out on the lake was nice even though the fishing bite is pretty minimal. If you swim, be ready to fend off the horseflies (they never did bite us thankfully). The was no WI-FI, which was fine, however listing a "smart TV" is a little misleading, since it won't do much without Wi-Fi. It would also be nice to have a light above the stove. And the one above the sink wasn't working, but that wasn't a big deal. There are SO MANY small waterfalls in the area, I would recommend Vererans Park falls (apart of the thunder river). Also if you have kids, there's a nice steam train ride about 50 minutes north, that was fun. And the Waubee lodge has amazing food!(About 25 minutes north) Nice property overall if you want a peaceful place to stay.

Nice relaxing weekend

Overall we had a great weekend stay! The only downsides for us inside the cabin were the steep stairs to the basement and the bedrooms have thick curtains for doors. Two things that had we not been traveling with a very mobile 16 month old would not have bothered us at all. Loved how even with it being only 900 sq ft we still had a lot of open space and did not feel cramped. Getting to the water was a little confusing since there other properties closely surrounding, it felt like we were walking on someone else’s property but I think we figured it out. The kids loved playing on the playground and we also took a drive to the Big Dipper ice cream place! We had a great time!

Great family getaway

Just got back from a long weekend at this cabin. Aside from the shower being really small and difficult to wash off young children and ourselves, our stay was great. The kids spent hours down at the water playing in the sand, finding seashells, trying to catch fish, and swimming. We enjoyed taking the paddle boat out and brought our own kayaks to go around the lake. Grindle Lake was the perfect size! One thing that would be great to have up at the cabin is a hose to wash off your feet before you go inside. We ended up tracking sand all over the place! We ventured out one afternoon to hike and swim at Veteran Falls which was about 20 minutes away. The kids loved that experience! Highly recommend! Angela was a great host! We had a few questions during our stay and she answered them right away. Thanks for a great stay up north!!

Quiet little cabin

Easy to find location surrounded by the beautiful North Woods. Surrounded by other cabins/houses that most appear to be permanent residents. We did not have an issue with being so close to others since we were stuck inside most the trip but in the warmer months, it doesn't appear you would have much privacy. Snowed on our last day, how gorgeous! Essentials were provided including bedding, towels, dishes. Cabin was clean and owner seemed friendly texting us the day of although we did not meet her in person. Our phones had no service at the cabin or in town which made it a little tricky to get around so the provided maps at the cabin were super helpful! A couple of "cons" for us to share so others can plan ahead. Water is not usable for drinking or cooking, even after boiling it was still yellow/orange. Bring your own water. Bedrooms have no doors on them for privacy, only curtains. We have an infant so having no sound barrier from the rest of the cabin meant an over tired baby who barely got any sleep. TV has no cable and owner only had 3 movies at the cabin for use. We grabbed a handful of movies at Family Dollar in town but much easier to plan ahead and bring your own for wind down time. Overall, a great trip. Would rent again if in the area visiting family.

Bring bottled water

We stayed here early October for the weekend. This is a typical northern WI. cottage built in the late 50's early 60's. It is not on the water, nor can you see the lake from the house. It is what I would call a back lot to the lake. There is another cottage between this home and the lake. The Good: The owner is very nice and communicates well through email and text. Cabin is clean and generally well cared for. It looks like the bathroom is newer. The lake is a very nice sand bottom lake with clear water. Because of our schedule we only used the lake to exercise our dog, which he loved. The not so good: As with most family cottages I have been to, it is furnished with hand me down items. The beds are especially old. So much so that we had to go buy an air mattress for one bed to be sleep-able. The water has a strong odor and strong iron taste. There is a water filter on the sink, but appears to be as old as the house and really does nothing to rectify the problem. The odor is so strong, our dog wouldn't even drink the water. The vacuum stick provided will not pick up sand and pine needles from the carpet. If you make a mess you will need to bring something better to clean to the owners instructions. Nice place, but what I paid for a two night stay is a little steep for what you get.
