Lovely place, Lovely owners

Wife and I was trying to get away for a couple days. The place was perfect for us. Though it was close to the owners home, we had a 100 percent privacy. The place was comfortable clean and perfect for our needs. The owners were wonderful. I am not sure if there is any better owners on vrbo. Would recommend to anyone.

Cabin in the woods

This little cabin was perfect for our stay -- and just as advertised. Clean and simple -- yet with anything you might need. The hosts -- Patrick and Norma -- were very nice and thoughtful. If you're missing your dog like we were, the super-friendly dog greeted us each day -- and took us for a hike up the mountain next to the beautiful creek that runs next to the path up the mountain. We spent much of our time in the tri-cities area, and this cabin was convenient to those outings.

Quiet, beautiful, and remote setting. Clean, comfortable, modern cabin. Great hosts.

I highly recommend this property. I needed a quiet place to hide away and get some writing done and this worked perfectly. It also put me close to Johnson City so that I was able visit family there in the evenings. The cabin felt new and clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was quiet and peaceful. It is surrounded by nature with no neighbors in sight. And, there is a built in sauna in the bathroom. As a bonus, after Pat noticed that I showed up in a Miata, he pulled his yellow Boxster out of the barn, and invited me to join him and Norma on a "roadster drive" and lunch on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a highlight of the visit! I would not have found such beautiful roads to enjoy on my own.

A peaceful getaway

My husband and I stayed here for five wonderful nights. Norma and Pat are so welcoming and made us feel at home; even their dog, Loki, became our friend. The surroundings and the studio apartment are so relaxing, peaceful, and comfortable. There is a full size refrigerator, microwave, stove top, toaster oven, and a coffee pot for extra conveniences. Plus, a Sauna, for a special treat. We saw beautiful sunsets and had peaceful mornings on the deck. Tiger Creek Rd is a windy road, but the directions from Norma were spot on.

wonderful, restful...loved the apartment.

the property itself is breathtaking. my only difficulty was finding it as I was a late arrival and it was a dark, curvy mountain road. I would suggest arriving before dark.

We'll be back!

Great location and Norma and Patrick were wonderful hosts! Everything was very clean. Be prepared that there is no cell phone service at their cabin, but that makes for a quiet getaway! I would definitely recommend visiting!

as close to nature as it gets!

This is as real as it gets! We took a spontaneous trip to the mountains with out 3 small children under 5 and stayed at the Ripshin Mountain Studio. We went in July to escape the heat in the NC piedmont area. The beauty of the mountains and cool breeze was very refreshing! The cabin was exceptionally clean! The floors were supper clean! We love to take our shoes off at home and everyone always walks bear foot but when we stay at vacation rentals usually the floor is filthy and I either have to wash the floor during our stay or we have to feel uncomfortable and keep our shoes on. Well at this cabin the floors were very very clean! This was important as we had little children with us. After we put the kids to sleep we were able to enjoy the sauna. It was a wonderful addition to the cabin. The water in the cabin comes from a spring that is on the property - best tasting water ever! Even our 3 yo noticed this! Imagine taking a shower in spring water that does not stink of chlorine! Overall the cabin was very comfortable. We were able to cook our food in the full kitchen and even cook the fish that we caught in the pond! The property is beautiful it is a real gem! Our children LOVED playing in the crystal clear spring fed streams and we all enjoyed the beautiful wildflowers all over the property. And butterflies!!! I have never seen so many butterflies in one place even the butterfly conservatories do not come close! Thank you for sharing such a tranquil and quiet place with us!

Loved It!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend here. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The owners are extremely helpful. The cabin had all the essentials and was nicely decorated. The sauna was awesome to have after a long day fishing! It is perfect size for a couple or couple with child. We'll definitely be back

Relaxing spot after hard day of hiking or skiing.

This was the first time our family stayed in a vacation rental instead of a hotel. We loved it. This apartment is so cozy, but plenty roomy for my family of four. The property is gorgeous and peaceful. The first day we were there we took a little hike to see their waterfalls and a Christmas tree farm at the top of their upper driveway. Norma and Patrick were perfect hosts. They gave us space, but were there when we needed them. Patrick was nice enough to show us his micro-hydro electric system and explain how it worked and the background of how he planned it. We visited Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, and the Appalachian Ski Resort on our vacation. They were all less than 35 miles from the apartment and very scenic drives. We will definitely be going back to stay again. I almost forgot...FYI the futon is more comfortable than the bed. My husband and I didn't know that until the last day. Next time the kids will get the bed and we'll get the futon.
