Rye is a city of Westchester County in New York State, but with a strong New England village flavor and it is well-known as one of the most popular and desirable towns outside Manhattan.

We are proud of holding National Historic Landmarks: the Boston Post Road Historic District and the Jay Estate, the boyhood home of John Jay, a Founding Father and the first Chief Justice, this monument is open to the public. The iconic art deco Playland, an amusement park was also designated a Historic Landmark in 1987 and features one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the Northeast, the Dragon Coaster. Playland has diverse amenities such as a pool, beach (Long Island Sound), mini-golf, ice skating, a boardwalk with family restaurants with sea views.

Do not forget to visit "The Square House Museum" a 18th century inn and tavern back in the 1700s. George Washington and John and Samuel Adams stayed at the inn. In fact, Washington “tweeted” it’s “A very neat and decent inn.” 10-15-1789.

The property is available for monthly rentals only. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed. The Rye Beach pass and weekly cleaning service is during the summer time (monthly rentals only). The property has 4 security outdoor camaras covering the front garden; the back yard; the hill and the tree house; and the garage.

Best neighborhood in america

We had a wonderful stay in Rye. The home in a private and quite neighborhood with lovely old growth foresr. A stream and little traffic. The homes are beautiful and stately, full of charecter. But within a short 8 minute walk you are in town or at the train. Couldn't ask for better. The home is large and spacious, the lot is beaitful, we really appreciated the different rooms that gave flexibility for our family. The communication with the owner was top notch and check-in was seamless.

Why they chose this property

Rye is a historical new England town in Westchester. Rye is a beach town with access to the Long Island Sound, the beach is a 5 minutes drive. Rye beach offer all the facilities: swimming pool, bathrooms, restaurants and parking. The town also enjoyed from Playland a landmark attraction build at the turn of the century and the only Art Deco amusement Park in the East coast. This area has a great beach and sea views restaurants. Great summer camps for kids of all ages at Rye Y, Rye Recreation, Rye Nature Center and The Rye Arts Center are exceptional value for money where children have a blast with in doors and out doors options and could include swimming. Camps can be walking distance to the property or a fast car ride. This is a colonial New England Cottage built in 1925. There are plenty of parking in the driveway. You will be 3 miles walking distance to Rye Metro-North train station and less than 5 min to town. Rye is a city in Westchester County, New York, United States. Located in the city are two national historic landmarks: the Boston Post Road Historic District and the Jay Estate, the boyhood home of John Jay, a Founding Father and the first Chief Justice of the United States. Playland, a historic amusement park was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, is also located in Rye. Playland features one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the Northeast, the Dragon Coaster. Playland has diverse amenities such as pool, beach (Long Island Sound) and restaurants with sea views. Of note are two 200+-year-old milestones labeled 24 and 25 on the Boston Post Road, oldest thoroughfare in the United States. The concept of mile markers to measure the distance from New York City was originated in 1763 by Benjamin Franklin during his term.
