About this property

On the Cromer Lighthouse site with sea views.

In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present The Link at Cromer Lighthouse. The original Cromer Lighthouse was built in 1680 but the present lighthouse, a white octagonal tower, was built in 1833 and converted to automatic operation in 1990.

With its spectacular sea views, The Link is one of two semi-detached cottages at the lighthouse, which is a mile from the traditional North Norfolk town of Cromer. A 10 minute stroll along the coastal path or along the beach will take you into Cromer, where you can explore shops, pubs and sample local seafood - notably, the excellent Cromer crab sandwiches. Cromer is a popular holiday destination for families and has a long sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The pier has a theatre and cafe, and is the location of the RNLI life boat station which is open to the public. You can hire dipping nets and buckets there - try to catch your own Cromer crab from the pier! There is an excellent sea-front cafe/restaurant at the lifeboat museum.

Mini break in a lighthouse

We had a wonderful stay, in quite a unique setting. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends. The very only thing we would alter would be a little more pressure for the shower … but this did not deter from a fabulous break.

This is a lovely place to stay, the cottage is as described, well equipped and comfortable, the welcome basket was excellent. A short walk into Cromer where there is plenty of coffee shops and some nice pubs.

Bit over priced as you’re not really in the lighthouse.

Very clean and well presented. Welcome pack a bit basic. Husband cut foot on sharpe edge of shower first night. Bedroom smelled damp. Wonderful view of the sea from the helipad. No views from garden as surrounded by a wall. No table in garden as shown in photo. Had to go out of gate and around house to enter garden. Lights in house faded in and out all the time. Definitely not a 10min walk to Cromer - the quickest route was down the hillside path which you couldn’t use after dark. On the bright side a taxi back only cost £5. Public footpath is very busy and many visitors stop and take photos from the helipad so don’t expect any privacy.
