Host did a wonderful job communicating throughout check in process. I was in town for my brother's graduation, and the house was in a perfect location, it was quiet, accommodating, and i was pleased that my dogs were able to make the trip with me. I highly recommend, and I would definitely stay again if I am back in the area.

Great place for fisherman to stay
It's no palace needed to be cleaned better and newer bed covers. There was mold growning in the coffee pot where it hasn't been clean in so long.
Me and my father n law stayed at the kyack shack five nights for a hunting trip. We had a great experience. The kyack shack was not fancy but it was very clean and comfortable. It was in a great location to Wetumpka and Charles is a great host!! Great spot for any outdoorsman and woman. Look forward to staying at kyack shack again. Rock from Rock Spring, Ga.

Not much
The owner was nice did let us check in early. The 2 small window A/C did not keep it cool. Not one in main bedroom you have to use a box fan to try and get some cool air in.Furniture old not very good condition, Bed had no sheet. We bought some to use. Not sure if it's full time rental or project place not very clean. Also the cover on the project boat in the back made a nice mosquito farm. I don't mean to sound harsh. But it is what it is. Could be a nice place with a little money and work. As is would not go back when we visit the Casino. This time was for OTS graduation at Maxwell AFB.
Before you even open the front door, you notice the smell similar of an old musty, damp basement. There was no amount of air fresheners or candles that would get rid of that smell. It gets in your clothes and everything you own, including your pets. The bedding was NOT WASHED, the couch covers were not washed. I HAD TO WASH ALL the bedding, all the towels, all the pillows, and couch covers. One of the comforters had mold in it. Nothing was cleaned or wiped down prior to my arrival. Definitely NOT Covid-19 sanitized. The ceiling fan was covered with 1/2 inch of dust and dog hair. The shower liner was moldy. The shower caulking was moldy. The coffee maker was dirty. The microwave was rusty and had crusty food in it. The refrigerator was not wiped out. The floors were not vacuumed or mopped. The bottom of the garbage can was caked with old moldy food and who knows what else. There was dog food and dirty kleenex under the couch cushions (I do not own a dog). Best of all, there was MOUSE DROPPINGS in every single room (this was the day I checked in)! There was a mouse living under the kitchen sink and IN THE BOX SPRING/MATTRESS. The outlet the stove was plugged into had no faceplate?! My dad was also with me upon check in and he was just as disgusted with the filth. Do not let the fact there are trees on two sides fool you. It is right next to a busy highway and the property owner advised me the next door neighbor was a peeping tom. WTH?? I am a single female living down here temporarily for work with her two pets. If I could give this property less than one *star* I would. I do not recommend staying here. I was very disappointed and frustrated. It caused a lot of undue stress. Because of the multiple safety and health concerns, I was forced to find new accommodations.

Tom was an excellent host. He communicated frequently and clearly before we got there on how to enter the building, and he came to show us how everything worked. The property is definitely a cabin, ideal for someone who is visiting on a fishing trip or who does not care about aesthetic appeal. It had a few things that weren’t clean: the refrigerator hadn’t been wiped out, and the shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the last visitor. Overall, however, we had a good stay.
Wasn’t as clean as we would have liked for it to be. The bathroom could really use to be updated.

switched houses
was totally unacceptable. It was dirty , smelled of mold or some other bad smell. The owner switched us to another house which was better but still not that good. The tub leaked, the bathroom sink leaked, both quite badely. We did take that place and after a little cleaning it was ok. The owner was very helpful and friendly but his places weren't very acceptable. He did try to accomodate us.

charming
My wife and I desperately needed a get away. With older inlaws that live with us we couldn't go far. When we found this we thought it would work. Turns out it was awesome. Near Montgomery and Prattville. Easy to get to and from. And it was perfect for us. We loved it so much we are already planning another get away to here soon.

Charles was a great host!
We stayed at the house for 8 nights. We just moved to Montgomery and were waiting to close on our house. It was convenient to Maxwell AFB for my husband to get to work and worked well for our 3 pets. It's basic accommodations, nothing fancy, but comfortable. Charles was very accomodating and responded quickly to the 1 issue we had when a circuit breaker went out.

Convenient to casino, river, kayaking and downtown Wetumpka
Good value and location. I stayed for several days to visit family and motorcycle ride around central Alabama. Room for 2 vehicles and my trailer. Short walk to downtown- Coaches corner or Coosa River Craft House for a beverage or two. Walmart a short ride from the Kayak shack. Thanks for a great stay!

small place but very clean and pest free. Just what we needed. Will stay again next time in town.
The Kayak Shack was almost perfect for our needs. I booked it last minute and the owner was very accommodating. The small cabin is cooled by window units strategically placed and they did just fine as the temps were in the 90's. The place was clean and pest free. We were there for a fishing tournament and the place had outside outlets to plug up the boat. We were able to park two 2500 pickup trucks and a 21ft bass boat in the drive. My one complaint would be that the shower is cramped but at least it was clean and had good water pressure. If you are looking for over the top amenities this may not be your place but if you need an affordable, clean and comfortable place to stay this is the place. I will be back at least one time next year and I will definitely stay again.

Great For Fishing Trips
This small house was just as advertised. Nothing fancy, but ideal accommodations for my fishing trip to Jordan Lake. Mr. Pershing, the owner, was very accommodating.
