This was our 2nd stay at the Palm Bay Club. Different unit this time, as the one we stayed in last time wasn't available during this trip. You stay at the Palm Bay Club (Tower) for two, huge reasons:
1. The view from your window if you're facing the gulf, waking up, and opening up all the windows to hear the ocean and feel the breeze, and
2. To head down to the 1st floor, walk out of the building, and step out onto the beach, which is only 20-30 yards from the door.
This unit wasn't as nice as the other one we stayed in (i.e. - trims, furniture, bathrooms, etc.), but it was still nice. The one, big, annoying problem we had all week long was a very strange, strong smell that seemed to come from the A/C unit. At first, it smelled like horribly cooked food, then for most of the week, it was just a nasty, musty smell, but we'd quickly get used to it and not even notice after maybe a minute or two, but every time we'd come back, we'd immediately say, "Oh man - what's that smell?!"
The property management person I spoke to was super friendly and kind, and she was quick to send someone up to see what the problem was. When we came back, it smelled similar to the original smell, but with an added cinnamon or pumpkin-like smell for a day, then it went back to the original, bad scent.
Not a deal-breaker by any means. After all, while we were here, we booked another trip in May to come back (different unit this time, however). So our experience at the Palm Bay Club has always been very good.
