Always a fun time for us & family!

Our girls love fishing, roasting s'mores on the fire & playing at the little park.

good for 2 people if you like rotten egg smelling water

We were disappointed with this cabin. It is small for a family of four. If you want to all watch tv, someone is going to have to sit on a dining room chair - very uncomfortable. The light above the table was full of cobwebs. There were cobwebs hanging from light in bathroom. (Which made me wonder if the place was "clean"). One day we came back and the screen door was stuck, wouldn't open. Not good when you have to use the restroom. We made the call to report the issue, about 20 min later I went to the "office" to use their bathroom and a request had not been made to maintenance for the door to be fixed. Oh, and also I was told that all 3 crews were in Eagle River, so it might be awhile :( Lastly, only stay here if you like the smell of rotten eggs. As others have stated in previous reviews, the water smells and it didn't go away the whole time we were there. Showering + rotten egg smell= not returning to this cabin

Some miscommunication

The listing pictures of the cabin layout weren't accurate, but thankfully it didn't affect our stay. There was some confusion for our cabin #6 lacking a separate pier, which again, was included in the listing. The check out time was also super early for typical rentals. Otherwise, it was clean and was a great resort overall with the amenities and lake access.

When we arrived we could not find the key, so asked for another key from the office, she gave us the wrong key, for cabin 9. After we had locked up, tried to get in and could not. Went to office, closed for the day and also left message, no one returned our call, Thankfully we were able to get in through the window. We stayed at another cabin in June also, it was disappointing that our pontoon didn't arrive until after 11:00, would have liked it earlier since you do pay for the whole day.

The cabin was locked when we arrived, there is no phone number or anyway to get ahold of anyone after hours. When we finally got in the cabin was not cleaned. They had someone come clean it so we could stay, it was still not very clean after that.

Hiller Cottage #6 Stay

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The booking was easy and the travels we had while in the St. Germain area were great. The fishing and weather was good until later in the week when it got warm and muggy late in the week. The cottage was rather uncomfortable to sleep in when it gets hot and humid with minimal air movement. We were not able to get WIFI for the majority of our stay which used up the Gigabytes on our cell phones. Cottage 6 is smaller than what the Hillers photos represent. The main bed room had the bed tight to the wall and it was real hard to get into or out of at night. Mark, the Hiller sight Manager was good at trying to address our issues. They were installing a WIFI booster but it wasn't working well at the end of our stay. Mark apologized for the issues. Mark also addressed a boat motor issue and was kind enough to give us a credit for the boat motor because of the poor WIFI and issues we experienced. Mark was always prompt and great and trying to address our concerns. The cottage 6 is dated and the exterior and some of the interior needs updating. The rug in the kitchen and bathroom were dirty when we arrived. Sorry, we wouldn't book Hiller cottage 6 again. Not sure where we will book next year.

In that time, we saw the change from somewhat rustic to now enjoy cable TV microwaves and beds that are comfortable.We don't swim but the beach area is well maintained and clean. The swimming float is close enough to the beach that inexperienced swimmers can get to it. Several lounges and chairs are available to relax there.We always enjoy seeing the eagles and loons.We like the location between Eagle River, Minocqua, Boulder Junction, and Rhinelander. There is always something to do or if you choose nothing.
