About this property

Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins - Glacier Cabin

Glacier Cabin was renovated and opened in 2017. Keeping with the charm of a one room cabin we have a queen bed on the main floor along with a sitting area.  The loft also has a queen bed. To access the loft you must climb a ladder so it is ideal for a family with kids or the nimble!
To add to the charm of days-gone-by the bathroom features a claw-foot bathtub and picture window with views of the forest behind the cabin, ideal soaking after a long hike or ski.
When you arrive you’ll find one of my homemade blueberry breakfast cakes on the dining table and a binder chaulk full of activities to do in the area, hikes with descriptions and distance, and all our favorite restaurants with full menus provided. Not to mention the plethora of discounts available through staying at Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins. To add to that cozy charm we have added personal touches from our own Alaska adventures in the cabin with family photos of fishing, skiing, and hiking.
Glacier Cabin is fully furnished for all your needs and we live next door to our cabins and are here to welcome you and help you plan your adventures.

Very Good Hosts!

Cute clean cabin. The hosts are very responsive and available. I would not hesitate to recommend booking this cabin. I’ll simply mention that the cabin is not a secluded as thought. Other cabins and the hosts’ house are around at this dead end road.

The best out of a bad situation

Cozy little place with character. Lost power our first morning and our hosts were easy to contact and very accommodating. We were offered a different cabin, use of a generator, but chose candles offered by our hosts and used The little wood stove for heat and making coffee. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect summer hidaway

This is a great little property location and a great little house tucked away in the woods. It’s walking distance to downtown. The inside was roomy and very well stocked. We had a great time.

Blueberry festival

We enjoyed our stay so much wish we could have stayed longer! It was a rainy blueberry festival but the wood stove warmed us up and the beds were so comfortable. The rain on the tin roof put us right to sleep.played some cards and just enjoyed being unplugged!!

Nice kitchen and bed. Did not like the shower and bathroom sink! Very old style shower which was difficult to use and the sink had very little space to lay morning items out to prepare for the day. Location was charming!

The cabin was very clean and nice. There were three ring binders with restaurants and activities to do. Easy access to Girdwood, Portage Lake, and Whittier. We would definitely stay here again.

Stunning cabin in a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed it very much and wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect place in Girdwood and host was so kind and helpful. Favorites were the wood burning stove and the many windows letting in the lovely surroundings. Bed was very comfortable and the entire place was perfect.

Hideaway Cabin

Great location! Quaint cabin and supplied with everything you need. Only complaint and very little complaint at that is the bathtub/shower only trickles out the hot water. Takes a very long time to fill up tub or to use for shower. Otherwise, an amazing place to stay.

Beautiful cabin and property!

This is our favorite place to stay when visiting Alaska. Nothing beats having trails right off the door steps. The Dorans are very kind and friendly. They made us feel right at home when sharing mushrooms and berries they foraged from the woods. 10/10 every time

Charming cabin with amenities in a lovely area

This cabin was the most beautiful cabin we have stayed in! The cabin is in a lovely forested cul-du-sac with the property managers in the house across the way. The cabin has a gorgeous bathroom with a clawfoot tub. The attention to detail was a definite added benefit to any guest and created a charmingly functional getaway location. It truly did feel like a home away from home and we definitely plan to visit again! It was such a wonderful experience. Thank you Patrick and Lynne Doran for providing a gorgeous destination for my husband and I to celebrate our 15th anniversary!

Experience Getaway

A grand honeymoon getaway

This cabin was a great place to stay, with an inviting warmth from both the heater, and soft lights, we did not want to leave!! And the owners were always there to assist with any question and problems we had! Both sweet and lovely people!

The perfect cabin

We love meeting people from around the world and showing them our beautiful town and state. we live next door to your cabin and are here to help make your stay everything you want it to be.

Why they chose this property

We have been looking at this cabin for 20 years wanting to purchase it and it finally came up for sale in 2016. We immediately bought it and went straight to work sanding logs, building bathrooms and adding that touch of home it needed. We love this cabin and are sure you will to.

What makes this property unique

When we refurbished the cabin we added a bathroom in the back of the cabin featuring a claw-foot bathtub for you to soak, and enjoy after a day of adventure. We put a large picture window in the bathroom so you can view the woods while you relax.
