Enjoy salt water views from the large front porch, second story living area, deck and the yard of this home on picturesque Great Island. Just 1 mile from Salty Brine Beach, 2 miles from Sand Hill Cove Beach and 3 miles from Scarborough Beach this completely renovated home is ideal for summer fun or quiet spring/fall weekends with the family.

There's plenty of room in our 1650 sq ft home for three couples or two entire families vacationing together. After a day at the beach let the kids run around in the yard on this quiet island yet you are less than a mile from some of the town's best seafood restaurants and the historic fishing port of Galilee where the Block Island Ferry departs.

This is our vacation home which we use regularly, not an investment property. Open floor plan with cathedral ceilings and "upside down" design to take advantage of the views. Meticulously maintained.

Beautiful property!

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, and comfortable rental, this is the place for you. The house is beautiful with the two outdoor decks, fantastic kitchen/living area (with everything you could need/want), and comfortable bedrooms. Everything was thoughtfully designed and the views are fantastic. Great location! We will be back!

The house and host are marvelous and we really enjoyed our stay. We took our 84 year old mom for a birthday trip to revisit the places of her youth and the house was a perfect launch point. David was a terrific host and communication was easy

Great location

Very nice neighborhood area and Very close to beaches and fishing wharf area. Fully stocked kitchen was a plus, clean and comfortable-Lots of hangout spaces. The kitchen and main hangout room is upstairs where the second bathroom is.

Lovely home on Great Island

Our daughter was married in Galilee RI. We loved the proximity of this home the Galilee Beach Club venue. The house was immaculate and perfect for our needs. The large open living and kitchen was so bright and great views of Great Salt Pond. We loved the artwork all over the home. David is a great host and answered all our questions promptly. I would highly recommend this home . The decks and porches are perfect.

Family Fun-Great Location

Wonderful quiet seaside neighborhood. A three minute drive to great beaches and active working fishing port. Our grandson loved viewing the action there. We were a group of 6 adults and two children under the age of 3. Lovely water views. Beds were comfortable. Needs a little TLC with pillows and kitchen items but overall a great house and location. Would definitely go back! views

Airy and Peaceful

We had a lovely time at this beautiful clean home. The pictures don't do this home justice. It's beautiful, clean and in the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. The host was easy to communicate with and was very accomodating. I've stayed in this area many times and this home has climbed to the top of my list. Can't wait to come back again!

This house was great for a big family or more! I would totally recommend and/or rent this again!

House was spotless had everything you might need in the kitchen! Great setup with bedrooms downstairs and kitchen living room and dining all upstairs as one big room with a full bath! Views of the water and sun filled! I hope to rent this house again!

Great Island

Great island house

The house fit us perfectly. Very quiet location. Decor was beach and location was great. Kitchen looked new and had everything we needed to prepare meals. Only negative was wood floors and ceiling fans needed to be cleaned. Bikes in garage provided a fun experience as we biked across the island.

Great Island Heaven

Beautiful updated home. Cool layout with plenty of room. Enjoyed the water views from the upper balcony but loved the extra wide porch with sliding screens. It let the breezes in but kept the unwanted flying guests out. Awesome location, close to three beaches; restaurants and the ferry to Block Island. Top of our list in terms of vacations spots after 33 years of traveling.

Girl Scout Getaway

I went with my Girl Scout Troop (HS Seniors). The troop has 5 girls and 2 leaders so this house was perfect with a bedroom with 5 twin beds and 2 rooms with queen beds. Beautiful clean home. Responsive owners. The girls loved the 3 season room. Wish there had been more toilet paper provided (we wound up having to go buy more) but not a big deal. Plenty of plates, cups, dishes etc. The location of this house was the BEST. Wonderful area - away from the hustle and bustle of Newport - but close enough to the activities. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

Beautiful location

We visited here for a long weekend as three adults, one 4-yr old, and one 19-month old. The home is located in a beautiful little neighborhood in a quiet area. We enjoyed biking around the neighborhood, playing in the yard, and sitting on the porches. The house was clean and well-stocked. Our only critique is that the listing does not mention you need to bring your own sheets and towels. The owner did make us aware of this a few days before our arrival in an email, but it would have been nice to know of this requirement before booking.

Clean house with adequate sleeping though not great for 6 older ladies! (3 of us in small room divided by a curtain). Downstairs bathroom could use an upgrade though hot water available quickly! 😀 Needs more spoons in kitchen. Upside down arrangement (bedrooms downstairs) not my first choice… But we enjoyed ourselves greatly!

Ideal in Every Way

This house is perfect, any time of year. Immaculately clean and well cared for—with all the touches you could want (extensive kitchen / cooking supplies; clean comfortable furnishings; multiple outdoor spaces for dining and relaxing in addition to spacious sitting, dining, and kitchen space indoors; grill; washer/dryer; lovely landscaping, etc.). A home thoughtfully and tastefully designed. A laundry service cleans linens between stays, enhancing the overall professionalism, cleanliness, and ease of the stay. Ideal location—quick drive to wonderful beaches, restaurants, fish market, grocery, farm, playground, trails, you name it. Right by the Block Island Ferry and quaint fishing village (Galilee). We fell in love with this home and corner of Narragansett during our stay.

Beautiful Location & Views of The Water

Great location. Second floor kitchen, family room and bathroom with beautiful views of the water. Did require steps to go to second floor. Main level bedrooms with bathroom arranged nicely. This was our second trip to this area with VRBO. Both times we have stayed in December, off season as we have family that live walking distance from the VRBO's. Wonderful area for Summer Stays. Home walking distance to beach, which makes it extra special. Enjoyed are stay.

We are a family of seven with ages ranging from high school to adult. Throughout our lives we've always spent time near the water and need to get our water fix periodically.

Why they chose this property

Our home is located in a quiet residential area of Narragansett known as Great Island. There are no commercial properties of any kind on the island and nearly all the homes are within 100 yards of the water. As soon as you drive onto the island, with its winding roads and small rolling hills, you know you are on vacation.

What makes this property unique

We spent a long time looking for an 'upside down' house. You will enjoy views of the water from the open floor plan living room, dining area and kitchen on the second floor just steps from the second story deck and picnic table.
