About this property

Beachfront, kid friendly seas, seclusion, nature

If you are tired of the chaos at the busy beaches, try this remote beach side house near Carrabelle. There aren't many houses along nearby, so you will be virtually alone way out here. Yet you are only 8-10 minutes away from all the action at Carrabelle, Eastpoint, Appalacacola or St George Island.

The house was originally built by some famous rich guy and he put all the high end finishes in, so the place is beautiful. The first floor is raised 22 ft above high tide and the second floor is 32 ft creating amazing views from every window. Lots of decks and balconies. The marble tile everywhere is gorgeous. Huge windows let in all the light. A high semi open carport underneath is tall enough to put an RV and large boat or 4 vehicles under it. It has a paver driveway.

The Main floor has a Large Master with a king bed and a twin bed. There is another bedroom on the main floor with two bunk beds (4 beds). Second floor has two bedrooms and a loft. The sea facing bedroom has a king and a daybed with trundle. The other bedroom has a king bed. The loft has a daybed and trundle. 3 bedrooms have balconies.

Sea level in winter is lower than summer. So the extreme low tides around full moon and new moon in December and January can be quite dramatic. These low tides expose an extra 100 yards of sandy tide pools around sunrise. Then later in the day, the sea takes it all back. It makes a wonderful playground. The kids will be endlessly fascinated by the tidal pools at low tide. At high tide, the water is shallow for about 200 yards. The waves break easy here.

If you are into fitness, take the Kayak out and explore the coast. I was really surprised how easy it is to paddle a Kayak. If you somehow get bored with the water, hike the trails in the enormous state park across the street. If you have never been away from the city lights, be sure to look up on a moonless night to see more stars than you ever imagined. Bald eagles fly low overhead and will come play with your kite.

You have great views of the Gulf, St George Island and Dog Island across the Sound. Dolphins swim by regularly. It is one of the best fishing areas around. Many types of birds are in the area including two eagles.

There are all types of activities: boating, fishing, and kayaking, swimming, hiking, site seeing, bird watching, etc.

AWESOME STAY

amazingly clean! Only saw 1 other person the whole week on the beach. House had everything we needed. Host kept in touch. This was our 5th year staying as a family of 8 in the gulf and was by far the best. Lots of restaurants close by. This is a must stay rental.

Everything we wanted! As an outdoor loving family! It was spot on!

The veiws were amazing and we say eagles, stingrays, blue and stone crabs like crazy!! Kids were catching them with fishing nets and catching shrimp. At night we caught hamer head sharks and redbone and trout and catch fish etc. my husband and kids road the kayaks out to the dophins and got up close with them. Mullet fish jumping out the water all day everyday we were there and The dophins are none stop swimming by! The sunrise is absolutely beautiful! And the house was very clean and plenty of toys for the kids to play in the sand. We will definitely be back and telling everyone how awesome our trip was!!

Great location & property!

We enjoyed our stay at the paradise. Fantastic location right at the seashore makes it worth. The outside sitting area on the porch is perfect for watching ocean for hours.. The living room & kitchen are well appointed & all the bedrooms were clean and well maintained. Steve, the owner of the property was very nice to communicate with. He was very quick & responsive to our texts. Overall, a wonderful experience at a nicely secluded place in Carrabelle!! We enjoyed our time.

Great family vacation spot

Our family of teenagers, young adults, and parents thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location on the beach was the primary driver for us to pick this property. The fact that there are no big attractions, like theme parks, in the area encouraged a low key, family oriented vacation with beach games, wading in the shallow water, hunting for shells, metal detecting, pickleball in the driveway, and generally taking it easy. The owner was responsive when we reached out. We would stay again.

Great, quiet location away from crowds

We had a great time and really enjoyed the location. The beach was very private and the gulf was full of wildlife. The kids enjoyed swimming in the calm water and finding marine life along the beach and in the water. Great location near really nice beaches, good restaurants, a state park and now crowds. We definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful house

This a beautiful house with an amazing view! Multiple decks to relax and enjoy the scenery. Only issue I have is the road noise, it is louder than the ocean sometimes and the water coming from a well has little pressure. Owner was great to talk with and helped with any issues we had.

Tidal Pool Excitement- Amazing beach front home!

Nature lovers dream! Easy family days at the calm beach and exciting nights catching crabs and fish in the tidal pools. Large living space, comfortable beds, kitchen has everything you need for a great beach stay. Tons of beach toys and chairs. Kids loved the paddle boards and kayaks. Can take a long walk down the beach past other rental homes and even spot eagles from the pine trees. Thank you for sharing your beautiful waterfront home!!

Beautiful home on a lovely beach

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely rental. There was ample space for our family and the views were phenomenal. We have been visiting this stretch of the coast for several years and will definitely return. The home is conveniently located and has plenty of cooking supplies. It is always quiet and the beach is new everyday. We did have a few days inconvenienced by Alberto but the rest of the week was fabulous. My children love discovering hermit crabs and horseshoe crabs in the bay and watching the pelicans and ospreys dive for fish. This is a unique area and this home is an excellent way to experience it.

Great stay

The property location is amazing!!! We could not get enough of the beautiful views from the house and the deck. We enjoyed gorgeous beach and shallow water. I would definitely recommend this property for families with small children. All issues listed in previous reviews were addressed. The house was very clean. The only only thing that could be very useful is an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off the feet. We were vacuuming the main floor and swiping the patio daily :) Thanks for allowing us to stay at this awesome property. We are planning to be back!

Long Graduation Weekend

We stayed here with family for two graduations at FSU over the weekend. It was a great alternative to Tallahassee hotels. Lots of beds to accommodate different schedules of family and friends coming and going. And the location on the beach was ideal. We spent most of our time on the large deck. The house is large and grand but the towels, decor and appliances are outdated or too worn. It could be really fabulous but is underwhelming. The beach and location are what make this a four star review. We understand the importance of security but trying to get people from 4 states to sign waivers and send DL photos is over the top and a burden.

Beautiful location

This house is in an awesome location, awesome beach front and beautiful views. Great for day trips to the surrounding towns. The house is a great size for large families. The house itself and the outside furniture needs some major work. I had to clean most of the house before our kids arrived. Kitchen counters/ cabinets were dirty and sticky, limited old/thin towels and stained sheets/pillow cases which I washed before they were used and brought my own pillows, towels and cleaners based on the previous review. The deck sliding doors do not lock—- need to use sticks. THE OUTSIDE FURNITURE ——BE CAREFUL—-The outdoor furniture is old, wobbly, or broke and all the cushions are in bad shape and torn up. Also BECAREFUL there is a hole on the deck the size if a baseball that a child’s foot could go through and that side of the deck is not very sturdy with loose planks and rails. The grill was not able to be used because if you move it - it would fall apart- yes it was that wobbly. So, basically little to no amenities and caution on the deck and you’ll have a great time!

Perfect for Family / Privacy

The house was perfect size for our family of seven (5 teenagers). It was so nice and convenient to literally walk off the porch steps and onto the beach. The views were beautiful. We enjoyed complete privacy the 5 days we were there. While the beach is not as pristine as Panama City / Destin, we didn’t see a single person in either direction much less have to fight for a place to put our towels or endure a parade of people walking by in string bikinis or speedos. We didn’t have to worry about constantly being on alert watching the kids among a sea of people. Perfect for us to just enjoy time with our family. The kids loved being able to go out and kayak (provided by owner), exploring the whole area for shells and watch the hermit crabs play around. We did some surf fishing and caught a variety of different fish and was able to have fresh fish to eat for dinner. (The kids thought that was the coolest thing. ) The house itself was clean and well laid out for our family. It could use some cosmetic updating but everything worked and didn’t take away from our enjoyment of our time there. Keep in mind, this is a more remote area. So, your not going to find Publix and multitude of restaurants in the area so plan ahead. We found a fresh seafood market to buy fresh gulf shrimp and crab legs at very good prices and a couple of good local restaurants 10 min away. Overall a great place to stay if your looking for privacy and relaxing environment with great views

Acceptable property….minimal signs of upkeep

My family, which includes my husband, 2 toddlers, mother, and brother decided to book this property in rememberance of my father passing last year at this time. The location is secluded as advertised which is what we were looking for. Keep in mind that this means that the small patch of sand in the oceanfront is not maintained. Broken shells, debris, sharp sticks everywhere (watch your step). We had to drive to a different location for our kids to truly enjoy the beach. The house itself has not been upkept, the blinds were extremely old and discolored, the couches were worn, there was tape which held the remote together, the pots provided are old and burnt on the bottom. Humidity causes the AC unit to drip in the master bedroom which inconveniently is located right above the bed. I slept in a different room for this reason. The bathrooms were not clean. We did our due diligence to scrub the bathroom for the safety of our kids. There was brown residue inside of one of the bathtubs which we decided was best not to be used for the duration of the trip. All in all, the trip was memorable for sentimental reasons but we will not be booking at this location again.

AMAZING HOUSE AMAZING VIEWS!!!

Our jaws dropped the moment we pulled onto the beautiful brick paver driveway! “Are we staying here?” Our three teenage boys said in unison. My wife and I had told them that we were spending their spring break week in their grandparents camper... “this is the best surprise ever!” the smiles on their faces were priceless. The House- The pictures do not do this property justice. We loved sitting on the HUGE decks overlooking the ocean. From here we saw dolphins, bald eagles, pelicans and countless other ocean side critters. Technically I guess you can say the house has three master suites each with its own balcony. All of which have views that will make your heart smile. At night with the windows open, the sound of the ocean will lull you to sleep. The master bedroom and smaller bunk room are connected on the main floor. Perfect for those traveling with little ones who need to sleep a little closer to Mom and Dad. Upstairs both bedrooms are nice sized, comfy beds, Jack n Jill bath and plenty of privacy. There’s also a pull out sofa in the loft. The entire house was very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The only downfall for this home is the road noise, at night the sound of the occasional car interrupts the tranquility of the ocean (I still recorded an hour of the ocean sounds on my phone) FYI All of the beachfront homes in the area are on this same stretch road. Steve the owner was extremely helpful and answered all texts and emails promptly. If you are visiting the Carrabelle/Apalachicola area and this home is available, look no more, book it now, you will not be disappointed. You have found Paradise!!! Thank you Vogel family for sharing your beautiful home with us. It really is a special place. Looking forward to coming again! The Perron’s 😁😁😎😎😎

Carrabelle Stay

The property was right on the bay. The fishing was fantastic in the surf right in front or the house. The house was very spacious, with an open area on the main level. The master suite was wonderful, with a very large bathroom. One big plus was the water did not have that strong sulfur that some places we have stayed at in Florida. Plenty of covered parking. We plan to stay here again when we come back next year.

Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique

Due to barrier islands three miles offshore, the sea is calmer than most oceanfront properties, making the water very kid friendly. Very suitable for kayaking and paddle boarding, both provided. The remoteness brings eagles and other wildlife close by.
