Welcome! We are perched up on a big hill with a stunning panoramic view of the Catskill Mountains! This house has a unique character and a magical location. The space is peaceful and inspiring for fun, contemplation and relaxation. The home is very large, over 3500 sq. ft. with private land to play, sled, roll around, make a fire and swim in the giant kidney shape pool in the Summer time and soak in a covered hot tub all year long. Very convenient for skiing, hiking, and all the lively towns nearby for exploration.
The space
We are so happy to have you at our home!
Our policy is: sharing is loving, and we are honored to share our home with you. We hope to add to the love in this world, not just for people we know and already love, but for all the beautiful people we never met. It’s too often that people isolate and keep the best views and beaches private. Our home was created for sharing and enjoying for everyone. While you are here, we want you to feel that this is your home and you are welcome. The energy from the endless fun here can be felt in the walls. Our hope is that you have a magical stay that leaves you inspired in whatever you do.
Our location is convenient for places to go in Catskill, Palenville, Saugerties, Hudson, Tannersville, Hunter and Woodstock, in that order. There is a stone fireplace to get cozy, a 70's bar, a ping pong table in the basement, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. We have a roomy kitchen for cooking, a pool and original art to inspire. The hot tub is available all year round and the pool opens up mid May and is guaranteed for Memorial Day Weekend. We close it at the end of September.
Sitting on 3.5 acres of land, the house has a gorgeous view at the Catskill Mountains. We are close to Hunter and Windham for skiing, hiking trails and beautiful two lakes of North/South Lake State Park and Kaaterskill Falls, where you can hike by a beautiful waterfall. If you are looking for waterholes, we are near several beauties. We are seven minutes the center of Catskill Main st. that has great things going on with galleries, restaurants and venues, like Hi Lo and Avalon, where you can find great music and art events. We are also close to Hudson, which is a special little city with a lot to offer as far as art, live music, nightlife, galleries, shopping and restaurants. This is the land of the renown Hudson River School that was the first American artist colony, you can visit Olana and Thomas Cole Museum, which are gems of beauty and art history.
Our house was built in the early seventies with some special touches from that period. We tried to preserves the authenticity of the spaces, like our bar and fire place room. The oil painting by the bar is of the original owner. This home is very spacious with enough space to get a little lost, have private time and entertain.
We think this house was carefully designed to open itself up to its nature surroundings, with great big windows for viewing nature and plenty of views almost in every room. It's hard to show the views in pictures, but almost out of every window, you can see something beautiful. We have direct view of the Catskill mountain range, and some times of the year we can also see the Berkshires from the back. It has been quiet an experience to sit and gaze at the mountains, that are always changing.
For the Summer time, we have a huge kidney shaped pool with an original painted design by us. It's about 50 feet long and 25 feet wide. We have two outdoor tables to sit and enjoy different views, one of the mountain and one of the pool. Our seven person hot tub faces the mountains and is open all year round.
The fist bedroom is on the first floor, with a full bath next to it. It's off to the side, so you can still have privacy even if people are hanging out in the main living areas.
There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor and if you close the doors, it is super quiet, even if guests are making noise downstairs. The master has its own bathroom.
The house sits up on the hill, which is great for sledding. We provide sleds in the basement for guests to use.
In on of the two living rooms, there is a ping pong table.
There is also a little path into the woods behind the house, with a short trail with a fire pit, so you can sit in the woods and have a fire or just some time.
There are two patio areas, one in the back of the house and one on the side of the house.
The house was built for comfort and pleasure.
For people with kids, we have a new pack n’ play, a booster high chair that attaches to a chair, a toddler high chair, a little toilet seat that goes onto a toilet, baby bathtub, little stool for reaching things, a bunch of toys, some wooden blocks and two of the bedrooms have a double curtain so that it can get dark in there.
