Welcome to Plush, one of the few cowboy towns left in Oregon. The Plush Bunkhouse sits on Hogback Rd directly across from the Hart Mountain store which is the starting point for your vacation. The town of Plush sports a population of less than 100 people so isolation and quiet nights are what you can expect. The Bunkhouse is a studio apartment that boasts 1 queen bed and 1 hide-a-bed, a full bathroom with shower, full kitchen, refrigerator, air conditioning, television, DVD, and a wide selection of classic movies. Across the street is the local hangout the Hart Mountain Store where you can find a fabulous burger and fries, a cold beer at the local bar, or you may run across a number of local cowboys and cowgirls going about their daily lives.

Nearby there are many local attractions for the outdoor enthusiast:

-Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge, a great place for wildlife viewing of antelope, deer, sage grouse, and hot springs!

-The Glass House (The ceiling is made of Plexiglas and rumored to be the home of a winemaker prior to his death and is now part of Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge)

-Numerous reservoirs and lakes for abundant fishing for crappie and trout.

-Oregon Sunstones, are located north of Plush and is the official state gemstone. Fee digging and free digging is available and information is located in the store across the street.

-Hunting is another great pastime, numerous opportunities are available for upland game and if your lucky enough to draw a tag antelope and deer.

Quick get away!

My husband and I needed a quick get away to relax for the stresses of work. This location never disappoints! Everything you need is ready and waiting. Perfect little store right across the street. Quiet town with nothing but beautiful sunrises and relaxing sunsets… oh and lots of cattle! Love it all Definitely will stay again!

Perfect location

Excellent place to launch your visit to Hart Mountain and all the wonders of eastern Oregon. Cabin had well-appointed kitchen, small but comfortable. Has everything you needed.

Mining retreat

The bunkhouse was perfect for what we needed. We did some Sunstone mining and it was a perfect place to rest after a hard day work. And the plush store across the street A great place to get our necessities or a yummy steak or hamburger. Enjoyed staying here and we will be staying again.

Great place to stay while rockhounding

This studio style room was perfect to come back to after a hot day of digging sunstones in the desert. Was really nice to have AC and WiFi as well.

Sunstone Getaway

The property was just as advertised and expected. I was mining sunstones at a property about 25 miles north and preferred to stay in Plush. The Bunkhouse was perfect for me. Most people visiting this area know how remote it is and it is nice to have clean accommodations with some not readily available amenities like wi-fi

Grand locale for rockhounders

My sister-in-law and i enjoyed the friendly, honest, and open communication with the owner. He actually was staying in the back of the property during the stay. Never heard a peep! The area locals were very nice, including the (as my oldest son bestowed upon him) absolute behemoth black lab who wanders around the town. Would love to come again for another round of rockhounding, this time on Hart Mnt. Thank you for the great accomodation. Only draw back is the flies and bugs. But, that is to be expected when out in the boones, no poor reflection on "The Bunkhouse". If looking at the listing and trying to decide to stay or not...DO IT!

Great stay in the high desert

Great place to stay in a very convenient location for rock hounding around plush. The property was very clean and Ryan was very helpful and communicative host. Can’t wait to stay here again

In search of SunStones

The Bunkhouse is located in an ideal location for day trips to the SunStone Mines, Hot Springs at Hart Mt. Beautiful area, friendly folks.. the little grocery store has gas, and lots of necessities. A small bar and serves great French fries. Great get away spot.. one thing.. take bug spray.. 😎

Fantastic!

I usually camp around here but this was a worthy upgrade! Only 30min drive to sunstones, 30min to Hart Mtn - a worthy compromise to have the amenities of a house every night when it's cold and windy. Wifi was solid enough that I had three days of working remotely (video conference calls) with no interruptions.
