About this property

Lovely Renovated Lakeside Cottage

Welcome to Tilden Cottage where you have it all in a Maine Vacation. The cottage is situated down a private road in the tranquility and seclusion of Tilden Pond. It is also centrally located for day trips to all the mid-coast harbor towns and fishing villages.

Inside The Cottage
Renovated open floor plan with a completely new kitchen with warm maple countertops. You can relax in front of the floor to ceiling stone fireplace and morning coffee is a must on the enormous (30 ft) screened in porch. There are three bedrooms (King, Queen, and a bunk room with 4 twin beds) and 2 full bathrooms as well as a separate family room with a TV and lots of games. We have put pine wood floors throughout the house. You can enjoy a meal or games on the porch or in the dining area.

Outside The Cottage
Get on the water using the canoe, one of the three kayaks, or the standup paddle board
Gas Grill
Adirondack chairs to enjoy the view
Dock and Swim float
Fire pit for lots of s’mores
Loon songs and of course a spectacular view of the Milky Way!

The Pond
Tilden Pond is a 400 acre lake with no public boat access. Even though 10 horse power boats are allowed on the pond it is a very rare sight leaving only the quiet hush of kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and the like.

The Surrounding
Tilden Cottage is just 15 minutes from lovely Belfast and 25 minutes to Camden “The Jewel of Maine”. These as well as many other close quaint New England villages on the waterfront offer shopping, dining, local fairs, festivals, and farmers markets and spectacular views of the Atlantic. You can even enjoyed a ferry ride out to an island and picnic next to a light house!

If you can tear yourself away from the peace and quiet of the pond, the location is ideal for exploring the whole mid-coast region. There are tons of outdoor activities: hiking in Camden Hills State Park (15 mins), is a treasure, with spectacular views of the Penobscot Bay, Acadia National Park (1 hour 30 min), biking on local scenic roads, sailing and exploring Penobscot Bay.

Lovely Property

Beautiful home on a peaceful lake. Very comfortable accommodations with a well stocked kitchen. We stayed here during the winter and the fireplace was the perfect end to our chilly daytime adventures. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. There is a short section of dirt road that will jiggle your innards but going slow will get you through it. The bumps in the road lead to a beautiful home. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Just amazing

Loved everything about our stay. So much room and we loved sitting around the fireplace putting together puzzles. The sunsets were amazing as well. Everything was just as promised and communication was impeccable. Would have loved to stay longer

Lovely home with the most serene view

The home is gorgeous and cozy. Apparently this issue will be fixed in the spring, but the getting there driving at 6 mph due to potholes the last half mile or so got old very fast.

Warm and inviting

This summer cottage on a lovely quiet Maine lake. I can't say enough how wonderful this home is - feels like a real home that just happens to be on water. The host is extremely responsive and the home has everything you need. Gobs of towels, gobs more of games, puzzles, and dvds. Beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Highly recommend this property for your vacation.

Hidden Gem

We absolutely loved this property! So many fun activities both inside and out. Being close to the lake was a blast with all the lake toys! We also enjoyed playing the games and puzzles that were provided. Camden is a must, wonderful shopping and restaurants. We went into Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park a couple of times. This was my family's first time to Maine and we have added it to one of our very favorites! We hope to be back some day. Thank you Deborah for the best week!

A peaceful retreat on Tilden Pond

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tilden Cottage. I have never stayed at a property that was so well equipped. The owners thought of everything. From games to a variety of coffee makers, Deborah's home supplied all our needs. We enjoyed visiting friends in Camden and in Belfast, but our favorite times were spent with coffee or a meal on the screened in porch with the best views, especially at sunset. We enjoyed the kayaks and exploring the pond, the loons, the ducks, the geese, the eagles. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Week at Tilden Cottage

We so enjoyed our week at this cottage. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. We especially love the location and the screened-in porch. The water was warm this year and the loons were quite active! Also, my husband was very happy the fishing was great! Overall, we enjoyed a wonderful time. My only complaint....it went too fast!

Perfect Family Getaway

We had a fantastic 2 weeks at Tilden Cottage. Everything is just as pictured-sunny, clean and fully equipped. We swam and used the boats and paddle board daily. Also had many fun trips into the nearby towns and Acadia. Can’t wait to return! Thanks so much Deborah!

Idyllic, Serene Getaway

Tilden Cottage is a wonderful place to truly experience Maine "lakefront" peace and quiet at it's finest! The cottage is perched on an ideal location on the pond{400 acre lake} with amazing mountain views in the distance. Daily bald eagle sightings were spectacular! Listening to close and distant loon calls was a blast. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the water using the provided kayaks and SUP. At most times it felt like we had our own private lake all to ourselves! Tilden Cottage has all the "modern" amenities that one could want and yet manages to maintain that "rustic" cabin feel at the same time. All the beds/furnishings in the house are quite comfortable and nicely match the decor. The cottage is fully stocked with all kinds of games, books and movies to enjoy. Tilden Pond is definitely "off the beaten path" however it is a close enough drive to partake in all that the Camden/Belfast areas have to offer. Deborah{the owner} goes out of her way to facilitate an excellent experience and she quickly responds to all communication. Easily one of the most enjoyable and picturesque spots I have had the pleasure of staying in. Hoping to be able to return to Tilden Cottage at some point down the road! Thanks again Deborah for sharing Tilden Cottage with us. it is appreciated!

15/5 stars

We've stayed at Deborah's beautiful home on Tilden Pond twice this year, and hope to return again in the future. It was the perfect respite we were looking for, and we can't recommend this place highly enough. Deborah is incredibly kind and eminently available, and her family home is even more beautiful than these photos suggest.

Heaven on Earth

Tilden Cottage is a very special place. This lovely home is comfortable, tastefully decorated, and furnished with everything you need away from your home. It is located in a private area on Tilden Pond. You can sit out on the dock, listen to the loons, spot other wildlife, and view the most stunning sunsets ever. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on Earth. The location is perfect because you can venture off for easy day trips in all directions going to Acadia National Park, Camden, Belfast, and Pemaquid, or you can just stay there and have a great time. Deborah, the owner is very responsive and helpful with directions or anything you need. Youngs Lobster Pound in Belfast has great food and service. They provide take out or you can eat outside. There are other great restaurants and shops in Belfast and Camden. This is truly an exceptional property and place!

An amazing retreat

We had a wonderful time at Tilden Cottage. The setting is truly spectacular - incredibly private and serene, and just a 15-20 minute drive to the coast. When we weren't out exploring, we basically lived on the screened porch. The cottage is really well-equipped for families. Deborah was very responsive and made us feel welcomed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Absolutely Lovely

Everything was wonderful. You couldn't ask for a better hostess than Deborah. She answered all our inquiries very promptly and was very forthcoming with information about the area. The house was immaculate, a classic cottage without being cluttered. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were very comfortable. The property is very private. Tilden Pond was crystal clear and warm. We had a few very hot days and we spent the entire afternoons floating and paddling. The eagles were an almost constant presence. There were a pair of loons calling as well. Early mornings and afternoons saw us all lined up on the porch in rockers to watch the Sun go up and go down. I highly recommend Tilden Cottage and would love to return.

Quiet, peaceful and right on the pond

My wife and our two kids stayed at Deborah’s home between Christmas and New Years. The house was immaculate and cozy, with a well stocked kitchen and amenities like a large library of DVDs. It’s quiet and peaceful, located right on the pond, but easy to get to downtown Camden or Lincolnville, and about 90 minutes from Acadia. We’d definitely stay here again.

Incredible escape!

Tilden Pond Cottage was everything we needed during these times as a safe escape. We stayed at the cottage for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it, settling in like it was home. The property and view from the property made every day, we were able to see perfect fall foliage, three bald eagles, many loons, a double rainbow and incredible sunrises and sunsets. To say the property and cottage are picturesque is an understatement. The location was a great in between spot for what we were looking to do while in Maine, we were only 1.5 hours from Acadia and southern coastal towns in Maine. Allowing for easy day trips to explore other areas around the state. Deborah was an incredible host and it was evident this property is one that holds a special place in her heart that she wants to share with others. The cottage has everything you can think of and is very well decorated. The outdoor porch, deck, fire pit and indoor fireplace is where we spent the majority of our time enjoying the view and the company. Deborah was always available for questions and shared great recommendations for local attractions. It was hard to come back to reality after this stay, but we will be back next year!

Amazing Getaway!!

It was a great home in a great location! There were six of us that stayed for a week and we had the best time. The home was completely clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. We spent most of the week on the screen porch or in the lake. The view was gorgeous. We felt completely secluded at the home but enjoyed the short ride into Belfast for shopping. We also spent one day in Bar Harbor which was nice. I hope we have the opportunity to visit this home again! The owner made sure we felt welcome and was available if we had any questions.

Lovely lake cottage

The cabin has been recently renovated and is very pretty. The view is spectacular to look at everyday. It is fairly remote as the town of Belfast and the grocery store is a 20-minute drive one-way. It’s very relaxing and peaceful and if you feel like venturing out there are some cute nearby towns to explore. Lots of good antiquing too! Family of 4 with young children loved it.

Pandemic getaway

We are a family of four that brought some other parents and teens with us to enjoy some instate lake vacationing after a long haul of staying at home. The home was clean, beautiful, and convenient to grocery shopping and takeout pizza. We kayaked, swam, fished, and played board games. We didn’t go out much, but did get into Belfast twice for some outdoor dining. The pond is amazingly quiet and pretty “human-free” with only the sound of loons at night. Tilden Cottage is a perfect spot for a Maine summer vacation!
