Everything was amazing. The house, the view, the location. EVERYTHING! The Malone's were very easy to deal with and very responsive. Will be booking again for the future.
I don't believe there is another location with so many unobstructed mountain views. Absolutely beautiful location! The house was large for our family of 5 with even more room to spare. Communication from the hosts was always quick, pleasant, and helpful. The house is stocked with more than enough essentials to get you through the stay.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house was a perfect fit and our parents had the smaller apartment on the same property. We come to Pagosa Springs every year to ski in Wolf Creek. We will definitely try to book here again. The house was clean with a spectacular view! 10/10
This is our third year staying at this house and it couldn’t of been better. For three years in a row we had 7 to 8 guy staying at this house and we have enough space for all of us. The house is very nice and we like being out in the mountains a little ways. We are going to try to reserve this again for next year.
This home had the most amazing views from the large deck. It was so so peaceful. Just the sounds of the birds, cows, wind. Truly a great spot to get away to. The house was great. It has all the amenities we needed. Passed along a few small suggestions to the owner but we would definitely stay here again. I miss the area already.
We loved our stay at this great house. The views of Pagosa Peak and the northern San Juans are unbeatable. The house is clean and functional, and communication with our host was quick and they were very responsive to a couple of questions we had during our stay. We'll definitely be coming back.
We had a great stay at this cabin tucked away in the Colorado mountains. The view from the windows and deck were amazing! It’s much larger than I expected and we had plenty of room for sleeping. Overall highly recommend this place!
We enjoyed our stay! Owner was very helpful with suggestions for local outdoor activities and quick responses. A couple of sleighs were awaiting us upon arrival. Didn’t have to go far to be able to use them. Fire pit was welcoming. Abundant beautiful sights right from the deck. Close enough to town, but far enough away for peace and quiet. We will be staying here again. Thank you for sharing your home!

Breathtaking views and very well equipped place. We can't even describe how great this place is and the area that surrounds it.

This home is fantastic! My husband and I had a small, intimate wedding ceremony here. It was SO hard for us to leave. The view is breath-taking, the home is cozy and warm, the kitchen is PERFECT to cook in.
We have two boys and the layout was perfect with the Master upstairs and the other bedrooms downstairs from the social areas of the house.
I cannot say enough about Larry and Evelyn. Their suggestions, recommendations and help in bringing our wedding to life was above and beyond what you might imagine. It was a picture-perfect time spent in CO and this is the only place we'll stay when we return!
Let me start off by saying thank you Larry and Evelyn for your hospitality and allowing us to rent your beautiful home.
This property is more than anyone can ask for. Not only is it beautiful and accommodating, but the views are absolutely breathtaking. Our family spent our Christmas here and it was amazing and memorable. If your interested in having a white Christmas, this is the place to be, you won’t be disappointed. We were a group of 8. We rented the main house alone and the space was more than sufficient for our group. We loved how it was located away from town but just close enough for convenience (about a 20-25 minute commute, depending on the weather.) We were able to enjoy activities such as skiing/snowboarding, snowmobiling, and sledding. There are many more activities available but we were crunched for time. We also had the opportunity to harvest our own Christmas tree (this was a first for our family.) Larry was very helpful and kind. He gave our family great recommendations for travel and activities. He was also very easy to reach when we had any additional questions. I would highly recommend this property and plan on staying again next year if available.
Larry and Evelyn's home was the perfect location for a summer hiking vacation with extended family. We were 4 adults and two children and the home fit us all very comfortably. Our hosts were friendly and helpful with hiking recommendations. The mountain views and starry sky seen from the home are stunning. I loved that the location was well north of the city and quiet; we had a nice head start to the Piedra River and Williams Creek trail heads. We saw porcupines, deer, a fox, and lots of birds. I would definitely rent this property again.
The owner is wonderful to work with. The house and additional apartment have all the amenities we could ask for. The views from the house are breathtaking. We brought our ATV’s and found many trails to ride from the house. Highly recommended!

10 nights in Colorado
We rented the main house and the studio above the garage for 10 nights. The family room and kitchen was plenty big enough for eight of us to hang out and cook meals. All the furniture is in excellent condition and looks like new. We especially liked every shower they all had a different stone pattern. I already put my request in to stay another 10 nights in 2019. Thank you Larry for your amazing accommodations, your place really made our annual trip! Can’t wait for next year!! :) Ron

Away from the crowds with great views!
We had a fantastic time at our rental. Larry was very easygoing and nice to work with. The house was perfectly set up for our family gathering. There were 3 separate living areas (we rented both the house and the apartment) for our group. The deck was really nice for sitting and watching the sunsets/sunrises over the San Juan's. The kitchen was roomy and well appointed for cooking large meals for 10-12 people. The property is about 25 minutes from town, which may be a drawback for some, but was appealing to us, especially with the busy 4th of July week.

About the host
Hosted by Larry Malone
We are marriage and family therapists by profession. We've been in love with Pagosa Springs nearly as long as we've been in love with each other. Larry first visited in 1977 while returning to Texas from a backpacking trip in Wyoming. Even after feasting for a couple of weeks on the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains from New Mexico to Montana, there was something about Pagosa that stole his heart. When Evelyn stole the rest of it, he had to bring her here as well.
Why they chose this property
We've been coming here regularly since 1985 and owned property here since 1989. We bought our first VRBO property in 2013, but we wanted something larger with enormous, in-your-face views of the Weminuche Wilderness. This is it!
What makes this property unique
Looking at real estate has become a hobby for us, and we've looked at hundreds of properties in southwestern Colorado. We went through the stage many people do of looking at isolated places that are hard to drive to in the summer and inaccessible in the winter. Our first vacation rental was in a suburban neighborhood environment. It was nice but we wanted a place that was wilder with better mountain views and closer to our favorite hikes. We found it!
Even life-long Pagosa Country residents comment on the astonishing, up close mountain view.
At night, it's miles from a street light so we have dark sky for star gazing. The stars are so big they almost look wet. The quiet is so deep, we sometimes whisper reverently like we were in church. You can even watch for meteors from bed!
