About this property

RELAX OFF THE BEATEN PATH!

This is one of the very few nightly rentals that provides an automatic backup generator in the event of power outage to south Brewster County.

Bring your camera and get ready to relax! Drive or Fly-in! The choice is yours.

We take great pains to insure that our facility is sanitized and disinfected as much as possible between visiting guests.

This is a 107 acre property full of wildlife, cactus, birds and hiking. This is a NON-smoking and No Pet rental. There is a $250 fee for violation of either of these policies. This property is accessible by car (the last 3 miles is a well maintained gravel road). The RV is a 34' 2018 Jayco Eagle Series bumper pull with two queen beds. This RV is equipped with huge flat screen TV, wifi, bluetooth stereo, double-door refrig/freezer, oven, range, outdoor gas grill, a gas griddle and a wood fired barbque pit with mesquite provided. This also comes equipped with 2 factory A/Cs and central heat, coffee pot with timer and a counter top icemaker. You will also find on-site a large charcoal/wood bar-b-q pit and lots of mesquite wood to cook with.

Also at the disposal of the customer is a 10'x 45' covered wooden deck with chairs and a ceiling mounted mister system for hot summer days. Beautiful views of Bell Mountain, White Horse Mtn and the Christmas Mtns can all be seen from this vantage point, none more than a mile and a half from the porch. This deck is also equipped with five 8' roll down screens for additional comfort from extreme heat. Of course there is a propane gas fire pit and a Chiminea with ample pinion pine firewood for cold winter days and nights. Enjoy the viewing of scaled quail, eurasian and white winged doves, mule deer, javelina, fox, coyote, ravens and red-tailed hawks. Blackbear, mountain lions and bobcats have also been seen close to the house. Absolutely no hunting or discharge of firearms is allowed. This home is completely dependant on rainfall. We request that all visitors limit their water consumption. These quarters come with a 6 gallon water heater which helps reduce long showers. Due to the various types of wildlife in the area and customer allergies, we have a no pet policy that is strictly enforced. There is also a $250 fee for violation of this policy.

There is a home on-site which is the owners private residence and customers are not permitted with it's use. The RV is located under a carport next to the owner’s home. If you Fly-in, we can arrange to have you picked up and provide you a 6-person UTV for rental if requested.

Area attractions include but are not limited to: Big Bend National Park (with access to a rowboat ride into Old Mexico for lunch and shopping), Big Bend Ranch State Park, Terlingua Ghostown, Lajitas Golf Resort, a beautiful River Road trip along the Rio Grande to Presidio, TX, chartered rafting down the Rio Grande through Santa Elena Canyon or Boquillas Canyon, and dinner at the Starlight Theatre in the ghostown. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, ATV’s or UTV’S and ride out right from your front door. This property is a scenic 40 minute drive from the National Park.

Closer to home (1/2mile south) , you will find the Terlingua Ranch Headquarters office open 7 days a week, along with a cabana and bath house at the swimming pool. The ranch headquarters area also has a 7 day a week/ 3 meals a day café known as "The Bad Rabbit". There is also a laundromat located very close to the mgmt. office where they also sell bagged ice, logo T-shirts, wine glasses, caps and koozies.

If you are fortunate enough to have owners Mark and Michelle there on a visit at the time of your stay, you will surely benefit from their knowledge of the area and their ability (price negotiable) to take you on a UTV guided tour of more of the unknown areas of the 225,000 acre Terlingua Ranch.

There is a 10%discount on the nightly rate for Veterans. Copy of military ID card required. Call Mark at 806-781-7814, please leave a message.

Stars at Night are Big and Bright in the Big Bend of Texas!
A great out of the way place to relax and spend some time enjoying the natural habitat and assorted wild life. Quail, Javelina, fox, mule deer and birds. Awesome to enjoy after a long day in Big Bend.Mark, Michelle and Chula are the greatest hosts! Had the fire going for us when we returned in the evening. They spoil their guests for sure!!We will definitely be back!

Great environment
All the comforts from home - in a stationary RV! Comfortable stay of the beaten track. The unpaved road leading up to the accomodation was bumpy. The tranquility is overpowering in a good way coming from the Houston area and yes - you can see the Milky way with the naked eye. Hosts are friendly and extremely helpful. Defintely recommend this to travellers wishing to escape to West TX

Big Bend
We spent 3 nights and 2 days in order to hike at Big Bend. The weather was unseasonably cold and unfortunately, the pipes froze in the trailer overnight. The owners were quick to respond and provided plenty of water for drinking and flushing. By the time we returned from our hikes the pipes had been thawed. We were advised to open the faucets overnight and had no freezing the 2nd night. We aren't sure if the listing mentioned the 3 miles of dirt road getting to the trailer but it was a bit of a challenge. It is far from the park but most accommodations are, as far as we know. The kitchen was well equiped with plenty of utensils and even condiments.

Very peaceful
This was one of my best getaways I've ever had. There is plenty of exploring to be done here. Although you don't have to leave to see wildlife. The best part for me was the lack of cell service outside the property. Gave me a great opportunity to disconnect from my every day life

Tranquil Oasis
The property is located in the awe inspiring Chihuahuan mountains. We were surrounded by untouched nature and entertained by the plentiful wildlife on the property. Our hosts were welcoming and they were very informative about the area and all the natural habitat of the area. The accommodations were comfortable, cozy and clean. We fell in love with the beauty in the area and this vacation truly exceeded our expectations. West Texas is a national treasure and I would highly recommend staying here when visiting.❤️

False advertising
Did not know the RV was underneath their carport, and about 50 feet from their front door. The porch had two shotguns or rifles too easily accessible to anyone. Owners were not home for the weekend, but apparently their employees were. They live on the same property. Rental is not as isolated as suggested. It did not feel safe so, we didn't stay.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that feels like an extension of the desert oasis you came for, this is it! Big Bend National Park and area adventure
My wife and I wanted to enjoy the area near Terlingua and the Big Bend National Park. Mark and Michelle made the trip a fantastic success. They made sure we understood how to get to the property and the property was more than we expected. The area around this part of Texas is not heavily populated and with Mark and Michelle's help are trip was fantastic.

The RV is a great place to stay! It has everything you need (all the kitchen gadgets and plenty of bathroom and hot tub towels) and is very peaceful and clean. The beds were also comfortable and a welcome sight at after a long day of hiking at Big Bend. Mark did a great job communicating how to get there and check in so it was easy to find. We enjoyed everything about our stay in this clean well kept rv. Our son loved being able to feed the red tailed fox and watching the mule deer and javalinas come eat in the evening. The owners were onsite and are very friendly and accommodating. It was also a pleasure getting to sit on the porch and enjoy their company.

Host profile image
My wife and I live full-time on property. Living on property allows us a distinct advantage that enables us to immediately assist with any problems that may arise. I have lived in Texas my entire life (58yrs) growing up mainly in and around San Antonio and south Texas. My wife considers herself a "military brat" and preachers daughter so is doubly dysfunctional. LOL! I attended Texas A&M and my wife graduated Abilene Christian Univ.

Why they chose this property

I began traveling to Terlingua Ranch at the age of 11 because my parents loved the area. I grew founder of the area everytime I visited. As I've matured in age, I find that many people from across Texas and the United States have no idea of what is out here. This is a great way for me to share this part of God's wonderful creation. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Our rental is extremely comfortable in a very in-hospitable environment. We are also very close to one of the only swimming pools in south Brewster County. This pool is beautiful and has undergone some recent remodeling. Also close by is a laundry facility, cafe' and the ranch mgmt. office which is open 7 days a week from 8-5. This rental is a great jumping off spot for all that the Big Bend Region has to offer, yet it affords you tranquil and beautiful evenings for relaxing and star gazing.
