The home is walking distance to Main Street and the estuary; and has hiking trail heads just minutes away. Hyder, Alaska is a short 5 minute drive where you can bear watch at Fish Creek or carry on to Salmon Glacier where you can view the largest road accessible glacier in North America!
The home is a peaceful retreat, surrounded by beautiful mountains and nature. The entrance level is where the washer and dryer are located. Shoes should be removed on this level. On the second floor there is the main living area, which is open to the kitchen area with beautiful mountain views all around. The kitchen is fully stocked, ready to go for cooking. There is a full bathroom with shower on this level. The top floor has another full bathroom with cast iron tub and 2 bedrooms. (There is a private, curtained areas for air bed use if needed.)
The main street in town is a short 5 minute walk from the house. The town of Hyder is a five minute drive away, the bear watching at Fish Creek is in Hyder, Alaska. To drive to Salmon Glacier you must drive through Hyder, past Fish Creek and continue on, this road becomes a gravel road and takes approximately 45 minutes to reach glacier. Please check with Visitor centre in town for more information about the Salmon Glacier access.
