A Serene Colorado Mountain Cabin Retreat

This Colorado mountain cabin was everything I hoped for and more. The large windows provided stunning views, and the outdoor deck was the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening stargazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the mountains. I can't wait to return!

Very secluded and private.

This cabin is a true hidden gem. It's incredibly secluded, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabin itself is cozy and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The driveway is a bit rough, but it's manageable with a little care. As expected, there’s no cell service or WiFi, but that only adds to the charm of disconnecting and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. A major bonus was that we could ride the trails on our side-by-side (SxS) directly from the cabin, without needing to load it onto a trailer. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Secluded Beauty

I chose a secluded cabin so that we could enjoy privacy and family time. With 2 teenagers, having no internet was my preferred option. The cabin has great views and is secluded. The nearby town of Pitkin is very quaint. Renting ATV's from the general store is the best way to go to the Conitnential Divide's. I would recommend this cabin to those truly wanting to "get way."

Lovely location with a few quirks

This property has many lovely features-well furnished, good layout, lovely setting where the kids could wander, delightful views, quiet, but close to Pitkin, and a cordial host…but my family found the water restriction of 500 gallons per week (with the option to request a refill at additional cost, but without ability to see how water consumption was progressing--host said we'd know we were out of water when it stopped flowing--or cell service to do that easily) stressful. Additionally, the road between the property and Pitkin--770--is heavily traveled by 4x4s and has deteriorated to the point that it requires a high clearance vehicle to get to the cabin. Bringing a trailer up it--if you are planning to use 4x4s yourself--would be challenging. Note the relatively early checkout and late check in times--the host means it!

Pitkin is the place to stay!

We loved the cabin! This is a great place to stay for family's large or small. The view is beautiful and the town of Pitkin is a place ourselves and my family has loved going to since the late 60's. We had 3 different couples stay for the week, had plenty of room, the cabin is well stocked for everything you need and far enough away from everyone to feel like your by yourselves. Hope to be able to return next year! Thank you Shawn and Stephanie for sharing your mountain home!

Relaxing mountain retreat, with all the comforts of home.

The Fanrsworth's mountain cabin is truly a special place. Spectacular views right off the deck and still only a short drive to the small country store if you find that you left something at home. Miles and miles of trails that can be enjoyed on the bikes and RZR. Not as busy as Tin Cup and Taylor Park which are just a 30 minute drive over Cumberland Pass. Whether cooking over a camp fire or in the spacious kitchen/dinning area, you will certainly enjoy your time here. I look forward to our next stay.

Breath taking view, secluded and has all the amenities you need in the Rocky Mountains

We came to the Pitkin area to ride our side by side on the numerous trails in the region. This place seemed remote when viewing it, but once there we discovered a very nice home with a wonderful historic town just moments away. We were on the trails in seconds, gas is available in town along with many other supplies. The road to the cabin is a bit rough, but we pulled a 30' enclosed gooseneck to it with no problems, just go slow. We did have cell service, Verizon and AT&T for calls and text bit data usage is a bit limited with no internet at the cabin. The cabin has no well, but storage tanks for water and with four of us there was plenty of water remaining and we had not touched the reserve tank.

fantastic views, excellent value, warm

Hunting with grandpa and the younger generation. You do not need to commute to find game you are sharing their home. Stealthily hike to prime deer and elk habitat and still ATV accessible. Our middle of the day timberline ORV ride up to the old historic train tunnel was breathtaking. Host Shawn is an avid hunter and will give you excellent tips for the area.

Great Mountain Get Away!

This modern mountain cabin has all the comforts of home. Nice to come back to after a day of riding the abundant, very scenic ATV Trails. This was a very memorable family vacation. I hope to return again, as this would be a great place to hunt out of. There are several public hunting areas near the cabin. Pitkin is a very friendly town as well! The Farnsworths were very welcoming and informative. Thanks again!!

What nice people!

I just had to take a moment and give a huge shout out to these folks! Although we had to cancel our trip because of college kid commitments, the Farnsworths were nothing but accommodating. Can't wait to actually come and stay!!! Thank you again for making everything so comfortable for us!!!

Pitkin Vacation

We were looking for a cabin close to Pitkin, CO this is a great place. This cabin was a ATV riders dream as once we arrived there was never a reason to put the ATV & UTV back on the trailer. We enjoyed a different ride each day right from the cabin with beauty abounding just outside the large windows at the front of the cabin. The deck was the perfect place to watch the colorful birds and wildlife that came to great us. The accommodations were comfortable and peaceful just a short ride from the General store in Pitkin, CO. I would highly recommend this cabin as a place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. The owner was a pleasure to work with and we plan to rent this cabin again in the future. It was the perfect place to bring Relatives from Florida to enjoy our beautiful state.
