Our family had a great stay on this property. The guys fished all day, and I relaxed on the back deck reading a book and overlooking the lake. We had a wonderful stay. The property was clean and cozy.
We travel to lake Martin serval times a year for quick as well as long getaways, and I can safely say we enjoyed staying here. The house is very charming and comfortable. The deck is great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or an adult beverage in the evening. When sitting on the deck you take about 14 stairs down to a landing and then walk down a small, curved incline to get to the dock. We were able to see deer each evening and during the day we got to see turtles, a snake, chipmunks, a duck, a crane as well as a hawk and of course lots of minnows. The dock is a great place to fish / swim or to just enjoy the chairs that are provided along with a drink. For your coffee, they have a traditional coffee maker so be sure to bring coffee and filters, or your own Keurig. Also, there is a laundry room outside of the main dwelling that is easily missed. Lastly, a grocery store is nearby to get anything you may need. Niffers is also right down the road for a great burger, and if you're looking for something a little fancier just go into the Stillwaters community.
This cabin is in a great location with a beautiful view of the lake. Great sunrises!! Took a walk every morning on the lake road and met some friendly dogs :). Host was very responsive.
We stayed here for Auburn Family Weekend. About 40 minutes from the heart of campus. Great location and much more reasonable than in town rates. The cabin was great, met all of our needs. The pictures in the listing need to be updated. Living room furniture is different as is bedroom furniture. We did not find the washer and dryer until we were leaving, they are outside through a separate door. Kitchen is fully stocked. Overall a great stay
Such a great little cabin! It is an older cabin, however the owner has kept the old charm with updates. Clean and fresh smell throughout. Comfy bed and fresh smelling linens and towels. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the back porch with beautiful views of the lake! I gave 4 stars for accuracy as I thought the steps led directly to the lake. This was not a deal breaker for us, however it would be nice! It reminded me of our family cabin on Lake Martin that was enjoyed for many years! Loved the area and saw a deer! Close to Niffer’s Restaurant which is amazing! We also enjoyed a concert at the Lake Martin Amphitheater. Chip was a great host and easy to work with! We would stay here again!
Loved our stay! The property on the lake is beautiful. Very nice deck overlooking the water. Saw 4 deer in the yard. The yard is big so easy to park the boat. Very clean. We really enjoyed our stay!
We loved the little cottage, it was a perfect size for us and a beautiful location. I wish there had been a king size bed because I'm a big guy but we made it just fine. We enjoyed the deck, swimming in the lake and seeing our friendly deer every evening. Chip answered any question we had within a few minutes, great to see good customer service. We will definitely stay here again.
Clean, convenient, affordable, waterfront, allows two dogs. Was everything we needed for our four day five night stay on Lake Martin. The pier was nice. The cabin was clean.the beds were comfortable. The couch was comfortable. The appliances all worked. Wi-Fi worked great. When it was storming out we were able to stay in and stream shows. We cooked all of our meals for the trip in the kitchen. Had no issues.
Cozy cabin with views of the lake. Great dock to sit on and fish. Saw deer almost every time we walked outside. Geese and babies floated by everyday. The cabin was clean and beds were comfy. Loved our stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
Quite Rustic
Had a 4 night rental and left after two nights. Chip was amazing to communicate with. To no fault of his, we lost power a day and Wi-Fi throughout. Concrete block cabin with DIY attached storage for washer and dryer. Rotted wood on deck and door frames. Musty smell in cabin even though noisy dehumidifier was on. The one bathroom was updated but extremely small. Furnishings were fair/poor.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage! We came down to tailgate in Auburn -wanted to stay on the lake and this was absolutely perfect. So quiet! It is cute, clean, and the owner is very responsive. Highly recommend!
Loved our stay at Chip's cabin! It was a nice mix of a rustic cabin at the lake with all the modern conveniences. The decor was charming and cozy. We had everything we needed. The deck and dock were perfect for lounging and enjoying the sights and sounds of lake life. We saw several deer in the yard and lots of squirrels and chipmunks. The property is about 5 minutes from several great restaurants. We especially enjoyed Twice Baked for breakfast and Niffer's Place for dinner (fabulous Happy Hour prices!). The frozen custard at Lake Martin Creamery is unbelievably good. We drove up to Smith Mountain (about 16 minutes) and hiked the trail to the Fire Tower. The view from the top is spectacular! It was nice to be close to things to do without a boat. We would definitely stay here again!!
When we pulled up we were greeted by 4 deer! The cabin is small/cozy (expected) but spacious and you can tell it’s been updated! Very clean, extremely comfy beds and the couch too! Large deck and my husband was able to fish off the dock as well as take his kayak out on the water. My ONLY complaint is the internet, it was insanely slow, truly unable to watch anything streaming. It was loading/buffering every 30-60 seconds. So on a football Saturday/Sunday we were bummed. We ended up having to use our hotspot on our phone to use our iPad to watch games. Other than that, everything else was wonderful. I also highly recommend Niffers and Lake Martin Pizza Co. Both were great! Chip was very helpful and easy to reach!
My first stay in the Lake Martin area. House was very spacious and in a great location quiet with friendly neighbors. Saw deer. Close to restaurant and stores if needed. Everything worked in the house. No problems at all.
My husband and I loved our stay at Chip's cabin. Our dogs loved swimming in the cove nd running and playing in the huge yard. It's a very quiet residential area. The location was a great jumping-off point to explore Auburn.
Don't miss suggestions from our trip to Dadeville- Twice Baked on Hwy 49 for breakfast & lunch; Lake Martin Creamery for frozen custard; Lake Martin Pizza Co. which has a dog-friendly patio.
In Auburn, Kiesel Park is a fantastic place for walking and the fenced dog park is unbelievable. The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art on Auburn's campus has a wonderful collection. The shops on College Street in Auburn were all very dog-friendly and accomodating.
We loved the comfort and convenience of the property. The back deck is fabulous and we utilized the grill several times. We took advantage of the opportunity to rest and unwind, and we wouldn't hesitate to return!
This is our second stay at this property. The home fits our needs perfectly with its close proximity to Auburn University (30 minutes). Also a Great location for boating and fishing. The home is clean and has most things you’d need. Beds are comfortable. Great deck and dock. Area is quiet with plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. Bath is small but adequate.
Our experience here was great. The host was very nice and helpful. The property was the perfect size for what we needed and the location on the end of the canal was great with the dogs. It was very quiet and very clean. We would stay here again!
