SUPER DISCOUNTED $199 (April), $255, $275 A NIGHT AND UP, not counting cleaning fee/taxes.
My condo is at the highly rated, ocean/beach front, Kanai A Nalu. On over 2 acres with banana and plumeria trees, an oceanside shower, solar heated pool, pool-side eating area and stainless steel Commercial BBQ's. It's just a 2-minute walk to 4-mile-long, SUGAR BEACH, the longest beach on Maui, known for its soft sand.
Owned for over 20 years, my beach front condo is very personal to me. A scenic retreat, thoughtfully designed with plenty of amenities for my guests, grown children, and grandchildren.
Sadly, Lahaina's harbor still has not been rebuilt which has curtailed ocean activities from that location. Conveniently, my condo is just 1/4 mile from the bustling Maalaea Harbor, offering easy access to fun ocean adventures. At the harbor, take a spectacular whale-watching tour with a Pacific Whale Foundation expert, explore marine life on a snorkeling excursion, or indulge in a magical sunset dinner cruise. At the harbor is 4-star dining, Hawaiian themed shops, and the renowned Maui Ocean Center—Maui’s top attraction. If you visit my condo during whale watching season (Nov - Apr), experience the thrill of seeing them breaching, out in the bay from our lanai.
Our location is perfect because Maalaea is centrally located in South Maui. We’re 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Kihei or charming Paia (reminiscent of a little Lahaina), 20 minutes to upcountry for wine tasting, 15 minutes from the breathtaking, prehistoric-looking Iao Valley, and 18 minutes from upscale Wailea, for an authentic Hawaiian luau.
I send all my guests detailed information on what's close by the condo, top rated restaurants, how to make reservations, grocery stores that deliver, the spectacular road to Hana and more. I want my guests to have the best vacation possible. I've been going to Maui for over 21 years and love to share what I have learned
Most people picture in their minds their dream vacation, directly on the ocean, with magnificent sunrises, romantic sunsets, and being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. My ground floor, corner condo could fulfill that dream. When you walk in, the view of the ocean from the living room is awesome. When you go outside, the spectacular 180° views will take your breath away. Every morning, relax on the lanai watching the sun come up over Haleakala and turtles popping up in the waves. A truly memorable experience.
I've tried to keep my rates reasonable, especially compared to the other ocean front units. There are only two units that have double sized lanais that seat 6 (like mine). Not being on a corner, they lack our breathtaking 180° views. Both charge more per night and neither offer central air.
Other condo's lanais only seat 4, enclosed by side walls. Most can only sleep 4 guests. Our corner condo, #117, offers amenities many units don't, such as: Central air throughout, 3 Roku Smart TV's (Netflix, Prime and more), 3 DVD/Blu-ray players, an adjustable (firmness or softness) "Sleep Number's" King, children and toddler items (crib, stroller, pack-n-play, hi-chair, booster seat and baby gate). There are movies, games, books, puzzles, blocks and more. For beach and pool fun we have noodles, beach towels, sand toys, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, sand chairs, and ice chests (for your trip to Hana). Our condo sleeps 6 (plus a baby in the crib).
I apologize, my description is long but, a Maui vacation is a big expense. To help with your decision, I've added lots of photos and details.
My condo features central air in the living room, dining area, main bedroom, and back bedroom—unlike some units that only cool the living room and main bedroom, leaving the back bedroom uncomfortably warm. I invested in a premium system with built-in dehumidifiers to remove excess moisture, keeping guests even cooler. In the summer, when Maui’s temperatures reach the 90s with 80% humidity, central A/C is a must—and one with a dehumidifier makes all the difference.
Most condos have a small, single "window" unit in the living room. Mounted down low, air flow can be blocked by furniture. On a 2 or 4-hour timer, every few hours you have to turn it back on. The main living areas can become warm. The bedrooms can become hot.
The photo of our complex was taken years ago. We had a lovely beach. It starting disappearing in 2022 due to the rise in sea level. We are very fortunate that the ALWAYS sandy "Sugar Beach" starts just past our seawall. In summer it can start in front of our seawall. During high tide, guests can reach Sugar Beach through the complex next door, past their pool (best for seniors). If the tide is low and the sand is high, younger guests can enter between our seawalls. See photos with the blue arrows. During winter, large waves remove the sand in front of the properties, so it becomes rocky. But, Sugar Beach will always be sandy.
Also, guests can take a 5-minute stroll along the sidewalk or an 8-second drive down Hauoli Street (to the right), where the road ends at Haycraft Park. The park offers parking, restrooms, and showers. It opens onto breathtaking Sugar Beach, a pristine, 4-mile-long stretch of sand where no development is allowed. This untouched shoreline serves as a habitat for Honu (sea turtles), making it a great spot for snorkeling. You might even spot these majestic creatures—just remember to keep the required distance. Be mindful that Maalaea, like many areas of Maui, can get breezy in the afternoons as the trade winds pick up.
Our double sized lanai has 2 tables and seating for 6+. With fewer guests they can spread out, enjoying 180° views of Maui’s entire So. Coast. A prior owner in a wheelchair designed the oversized lanai, level with the lawn.
Being on a corner, there's no neighbors on one side. With more windows, it's brighter inside. Our corner condo is not like an interior unit that’s sandwiched between two other units. They only have one window in their main bedroom. Their 2nd bedroom's window opens to the back, facing the parking lot. The window in our 2nd bedroom faces the pool.
The main bedroom has a "Sleep Number's" King with air chambers in the mattress. Guests can adjust the firmness or softness on each side. Some condo's main bedrooms are open to the living room with thin sliding walls, offering no insulation from the noise of others. Our main bedroom’s solid walls and locking door offers privacy and a quiet retreat. It has front windows facing the shore, and side windows facing the pool.
The 2nd Bedroom has twins that can be converted to a king. Both bedrooms have central air, ceiling fans, Smart TV's, and DVD/Blu-ray players. In the living room is a Queen Sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress.
The bathroom has a walk-in/roll-in shower (wheelchair accessible) with hand held and wall mounted shower heads. The 2nd bathroom has a full-size tub with a shower above. Both have ceiling fans and wall mounted hair dryers.
Our condo has a "relaxed" island feel. Most guests like it, but those that want a hi-end hotel room look, may be disappointed. Some of the furnishings are new and other pieces are not (but in very good condition). If you prefer all new, there are completely remodeled units that charge more.
Enjoy 3 Smart TV’s (Prime, Netflix and more), 3 DVD/Blu-ray players, movies for all ages, a blue tooth adaptable stereo radio, (play your own music), fast 500 Mbps Wi-Fi, and a printer.
There are 2 coffee makers, (K-cups and grounds), toaster, toaster oven, a Ninja blender (for smoothies), hand blender, pots, pans, wine glasses and more. There's a digital washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, glass top stove, side-by-side fridge with ice maker and filtered water. There's an iron & ironing board.
We provide dish, hand soap, laundry, dishwasher detergent, and cleaning supplies, plus extra rolls of paper towels and toilet paper.
The condo is steps from a parking spot (regular and handicap). It has wide doorways and is wheelchair accessible, but not ADA compliant. With a ground floor unit, you don't have to carry luggage up and down stairs or to the back of the complex for the elevators.
