Sage Cottage at The Last Resort on Berry Point Road on Gabriola Island, B.C.
Views of the Salish Sea and amazing sunsets. Otters, California sea lions, seals and bald eagles are just some of the wildlife you can watch with Humpback Whales and Orca as well. This cottage is also warm and wonderful in the winter months watchingthe waves crash and dramatic skies. This heritage cottage sits about 40 feet above the water offering unobstructed views. There is a full size BBQ on the deck for guest usage, along with utensils.
Berry Point Rd comes to a dead end at the most spectacular view point of the light house, the mainland and of course the sunsets. Few cars go by and so it is quiet and peaceful. We are about 7 minutes from the village by car at the north end of the island.
If you are traveling from the mainland by ferry make sure to buy an Experience Card. You have to pre-load it with $115 but you will use this for the trip and it will give you a 40% discount on the ferry to Gabriola, which is worth about $20. For those walking over by ferry you can get a taxi or the local bus named Gertie who meets the ferries. A second cottage ("Aqua Cottage") on this property is sometimes available for simultaneous booking, so two groups could book together.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sage Cottage. The cottage is cozy and well equipped, check in was a breeze and the location is amazing. Looking forward to our next trip!
Alison was so friendly and helpful - it was a delight to get to know her. Sitting on the swing seat each night, facing the ocean, was truly relaxing. The kayaking around the coast and islets here is wonderful. We had a great week!

Cozy Sage cottage
Our stay at the Sage cottage was great!! Cottage is clean and comfortable and is way better than it appears in the pictures! We were pleasantly surprised, and will be trying to stay there again, on our next trip to Gabriola!
Great location; near beaches, water is just steps away, easy access to the village which mostly has anything you need.
Property owners are amazing; very accommodating, good knowledge of local attractions.
Will definitely book again!
Lovely cottage with an ocean view. The Host contacted us 1st and was very accommodating and friendly. Everything one needs has been provided. Thx for the relaxing stay Alison!
Landlord very nice and helpful, cottage is perfect for two. Everything you would need on a vacation. We did not use much of the available dishes etc as my sister lives on the Island and we spent most of our time at their place. I recommend the place for a fun time and views are amazing watching the ferry boats and water always relaxing.
Our stay at Sage Cottage was excellent…all was as described. Alison was a gem with greeting us and giving us tips for things to do near by the cottage and on Gabriola. We ate next door at the Surf Lodge a coulpe times, which was handy. The sunsets 🌅 from the cottage porch were breathtaking. Highly recommend the vacation cottage!

The property was as advertised. Hosts were excellent, very helpful. The only small issue was locating the property once on the island. GPS requires an address complete with street number.

Lovely little cottage with a fabulous view!
Great location but needed some cleaning. Discussed the issues & sent photos to the owner and she advised it was a new cleaner and would bring it up with them. Hopefully, they get the housekeeping issues resolved as it was a great location! Beautiful sunsets!!

The property was exactly what we were looking for. So quiet and comfortable! Had all the amenities we needed.
Weather was perfect and accomplished what I wanted to do and that was relax for a few days. On top of that Alison and Kevin were amazing hosts!
Highly recommend this property!
Thank you Alison and Kevin!!
And thank you Gabe for being a great host as well
Had a great stay at this cabin, nice views of the water and amazing sunsets! It was convenient being next to the surf lodge, which has food/drinks, and a close drive in to the centre for groceries and the market. The cabin was well finished and suited the two of us perfectly!
We loved our time at the Sage cabin and had everything we needed. We would love to return. The views are amazing with lots of walking trails and beautiful nature seascapes to explore.
We enjoyed the cottage very much, very clean, well equipped gracious host and location spectacular.
Will definitely visit again !

Sage Cottage is a across the road from a rocky beach, and the sunsets are breathtaking. The cottage is cozy; our only complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable. Gabriola Island is beautiful. There are several sandy beaches and lots of trails to walk. Thanks to hosts, Alison and Keith, for a very pleasant stay.
So grateful for this sweet little spot on Gabe! Perfect location across from the beach and all the amenities we needed. The owner was a great communicator. I won’t hesitate to re-book this place for my next family visit on the island, and would recommend it highly.
We enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed. Great spot to watch the sunset - from the cabin or a quick walk across the road to the shore. Hosts communicated quickly when messaged.
We had a very relaxing time at the Sage Cottage. It had everything we needed, an amazing location and very friendly hosts! We were also lucky enough to catch some Orcas at the beach across the street. Would definitely stay here again :)
It is a lovely cottage set far back from the road on a beautiful rambling property that is very peaceful.
Our cottage looked out on to the Pacific ocean and we got to watch the changing colours of the sky at sunset.
Close to everything- cottage is well designed and has a lovely big front porch where my shaggy Newfoundland dog spent many hours. Very nice couple - very helpful and capable. Terrific!
It was perfectly lovely in “our little cabin”.
Ocean view directly across the street offering beautiful sunsets.
Thank-you Alison and Kevin , we look forward to returning and exploring more of Gabriola Island.
