The peaceful small-town setting offers our visitors easy access to the general store, pizza shop, coffee shop, ice cream parlor, antique store, post office, and the park. Take a stroll on the brick sidewalks, and put your feet up by the fire while you listen to the sound of horses passing by.

Two bedrooms, one sleeping loft, living room, dining room, fully furnished kitchen, laundry room, enclosed patio, and a finished walk-out basement are just some of the things you will enjoy while staying at the cottage. A desk with a laser printer is in the lower level for our guests to use.

The cottage easily accommodates up to 12 people with two queen beds in each of the bedrooms, and one full bed and two twin beds in the sleeping loft. There are also queen-sized pull-out sofa beds in the living room and basement to accommodate four additional guests. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for 12+ people, and includes a Kitchenaid stand mixer with a paddle, wire whisk, and bread hook attachments.

A short stroll on the brick sidewalks of Winesburg will take you to the general store, pizza shop, ice cream parlor, antique store, post office, and the park.

Loved Stone Cottage Inn

The Stone Cottage is absolutely charming. My son and daughter in law both had to work one day, so the basement worked out beautifully. The loft and rooms were all cozy and comfortable. Kitchen was equipped abundantly. The location next to Beacon Cafe was amazing, food was so good. Whitmers General Store with pizza and various entrees was a 3 minute walk down the quaint road. As a frequent visitor to Amish country I was looking for a new experience and Stone Cottage was a gem of a find. I will definitely be back!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful home

Pajama Party Weekend

The house is absolutely wonderful! The only issue we had was dealing with the snow in the parking area behind the house. It made it hard to get the cars unloaded.

Loved it

The house was perfect for our family trip! The basement was a nice surprise. The only negative I could possibly say is that there were dirty sheets on the sofa bed. When we went to change them and got clean sheets from the chest, the clean sheets were stained as well. Thankfully, there was a washer and dryer available with detergent. The house was well equipped and so beautifully decorated. We loved having the fenced area for our dogs. It was a perfect getaway. I would be heartbroken to have to stay anywhere else!

Home Away From Home

First impressions: the stone cottage was absolutely beautiful! It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated for the fall season, and with every amenity anyone could want. My husband and I have traveled north to south, east to west, and back again but have never stayed in a vacation rental as nice as the stone cottage. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful Stone Cottage

This historic cottage is quaint and cozy. The cottage was very clean with comfortable beds. Check in/ out was very easy. There is a nice park behind the cottage. We highly recommend the cafe next door for breakfast and hot/iced coffee. The location in Winesburg is perfect to easily access popular attractions and shopping in the area. We will definitely stay here again for our next trip to Amish Country.

Charming Fall Getaway

The cottage could not have been any more charming. All the details made this feel like the perfect fall getaway. Pumpkins, gourds, and mums in the window boxes and landscaping and fall decorations made the cottage feel like the setting for a Hallmark movie. The furniture was comfortable and space was cozy. The vibe of the cottage provided that "Amish" trip getaway feel we were seeking. We took advantage of the adorable coffee shop next door, The Beacon Cafe, for breakfast and walked down the street to the General Store, with homemade pizzeria. Yum. The location was only a 10 minute drive to the shopping in Berlin. When at the cottage, we played games and even got to watch softball games out the back windows (or covered patio) - the Amish girls in their bonnets and skirts. All in all...the PERFECT weekend. We plan to return again!!! To note, the home was very clean and the hosts thoughtful. The beds were comfortable and blankets/linens were plentiful. There was a variety of coffee singles to choose from and plenty of menus and books to research the area.

Great house very bad lication

The house advertises as peaceful. It is not. It is 100 feet from a major truck route with semis, muscle cars, motorcycles and loud regular trucks passing by the front of the house. There is also an outside dog kennel next door. The dogs started barking at 3:45 and 4:45 waking us up. You could not sit on the cute screened in porch because of the noise. We asked for a partial refund but was denied. We need a vacation from our vacation.

Memorial Weekend Family mini vacation

Very clean. Just the right size for the nine of us. Close to the places we visited in the area. We were able to both cook there and eat out. They had a nice folding table we used in the living room to play both board and card games. The bathroom was well set up for our special needs daughter to use. The whole first floor was wheelchair accessible for her. We all enjoyed our stay at the Stone Cottage Inn.

Amish Country Visit

The cottage was so quaint and comfortable, it was difficult to leave to visit the area. Very well stocked with so many extras, better in life than the pictures. Enjoyed every moment and would definitely stay again, hopefully for more than three nights

About the host

As life-long residents of Holmes County we are delighted to offer the small town atmosphere to our guests at the Stone Cottage Inn.

Why they chose this property

Of all the towns in our area, Winesburg is our favorite because it maintains the quaint small town feel.

What makes this property unique

The thick stone walls, warm hearth, and historic restoration will take you back in time as you listen to the clip-clop of passing Amish buggies on the road. Guests can enjoy the community park and playground directly behind the cottage. In season, fresh Concord grapes hang in thick bunches from the century-old vine adorning the front of the Cottage.
