Lakeside hideaway

My husband and I spent 4 nights there while we visited family across the lake in Ticonderoga and toured the area. We could step out the door and enjoy the lake and watch the moon setting at night. Coupled with the spectacular leaf colors, it was amazing. The owners are delightful and very helpful. They even made us some delicious apple sauce. It is a fairly rural setting without nearby restaurants or grocery, so pack accordingly.

Nice place to stay

This is close to the Star Trek museum in Ticonderoga,NY. Beautiful views of the water. Nice 2 bedroom cabin. There is no restaurant near the site, 20 miles north is Middlebury. That wasn’t a problem because we cooked for ourselves. We had a great time.

Rustic but comfortable cottage with lake access and vews.

This was an early season stay for vermont. I say this because i know living in nh. The indoors were impecable whereas outside was needing a dew repairs/wash. Being early season i expected that. Owners were very accommodating. Even bringing our ordered food to our door piping hot. This wasny first getaway with my extended family and we enjoyed the area and accommodations.

October stay at the Blue Heron cottage

The cottage has wonderful views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks across the lake. The wood pellet stove was perfect for keeping the cabin warn. We made a fire outside overlooking the lake one night and cooked dinner on the coals. Had fun walking at Otter Creek near Middlebury and picking apples at Champlain Orchards.

The on site host Ardie and Chef Mike were phenomenal, personable & helpful.

Quiet, scenic (right on Lake Champlain!) and well cared for as owners Ardie and Mike are right on site. Can’t say enough about these two hosts. Both made us feel right at home with cottage and grounds. Lots of great suggestions. Chef Mike is a tremendous cook and Ardie was just pleasant to be around. Cottage was clean and oriented directly to a beautiful view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks in the background. We enjoyed the quiet and remoteness for the entire October week. The colors exceeded our expectations as did everything else at this very special VBRO!

Great getaway

We loved staying at this cottage - it was just my fiancé, myself and our dog. Was plenty of room and could easily had had another couple with us. Great view of the water, super secluded and exactly what we were looking for. Some things that were shared with us after we booked that would have been helpful to know prior: - you need to bring your own sheets & towels - the owners prefer a check for the security deposit - they supply some paper product but you may need to supplement with your own - the washer / dryer and hot tub are all shared between the 3 houses on the property (located at a different house then the one we stayed on). We didn't feel comfortable using the hot tub while tenants were in the other cabin (personal preference) but we got lucky and we were there between bookings one day when we were able to take advantage of the hot tub all in all a great time! the hosts are extremely friendly (even gave us some veggies from their garden!) and responsive and we'd love to go back maybe with a much bigger group where we could have multiple cabins at once. Some of the furniture is a bit worn (the couch), but again, it's a cabin in the woods so was as expected - bed was comfy. wifi was also great- I took many video meetings while there and didn't have any issues.

Quiet retreat

The cottage is located on a beautiful secluded dead end. The lake views were calming as I drank my morning coffee on the deck. There were a couple of board games and decks of cards, perfect for friends and family. The owners and their family are very friendly and were always available when we needed to ask a question. Highly recommend to families looking to reconnect to nature and peace.

Peaceful, family gathering and 60th birthday!

We had a fabulous time. We couldn't have enjoyed are time more. The beauty of the are. The peace of the area and the beautiful well kept cottage we couldn't have asked for more. The only recommendation is an are for the master bedroom to store they're lugged item and a higher toilet. I'm partially disabled but the cottage was great. Ardie was so friendly and helpful, and we greatly appreciated.

Quiet stay on beautiful property

My mom and I stayed for 3 nights at this property, with my dog in tow. The property is secluded and away from neighbors which was such a plus for us since I bring my dog with me on vacation stays. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had a great location for lake access. Though, when other nearby cabins owned by same owner are full, dogs are to be leashed, it was great to be the only ones on the property this time so my dog ran off leash, always monitored during entire trip. Ardie and Mike were wonderful in getting us anything we may have needed and offering advice on local places to eat at, see. I would recommended this place to any families and their children. But do note, lake access and lake are full of rocks so make sure to bring water shoes. We were not aware of that and regretted waiting until our 2nd day to get water shoes.

The cabin was very clean and beautiful. The view was amazing!! Very peaceful getaway!

Renting this cottage went very smooth. The owners were extremely attentive. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the hot tub that was advertised was outside of another cabin. We did not feel comfortable going over to use it there. I was under the impression it was at our cabin. Other than that, we had a great time!!

Great place to stay right at Watch Point. Friendly Inn keepers, make for a very relaxing stay.

Ardie and Mike are great. The cabin is more like a house. It has everything, even glass wine glasses. Also, Chef Mike’s dinners are awesome and reasonably priced. So there is no need to leave the property even if you want to eat out. So bring your boat, relax and hang out for a week or two!
