Everything about this home is awesome. We felt the owner truly wanted us to enjoy our stay. Amazing location with anything you’d need to have a great time in Macatawa. One of our favorite places we’ve been.
We loved our stay. Amazing location.
The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The porch and beautiful yard made it an especially refreshing vacation place. We would happily rent it again!
Incredibly comfortable home in a wonderful location with easy beach access. The home is impressively clean, beds are comfortable, and the yard is expansive and so peaceful. We appreciated all the little things that add up to making the vacation that much better: well equipped kitchen, toiletries provided, access to beach chairs, towels, and paddleboards, comfortable seating throughout the home and outdoors, a pretty porch, and the ping pong table in the garage which provided hours of enjoyment! The property owner is incredibly responsive and so kind. We are so grateful to be able to rent this vacation home!
We have rented the Fishbowl previously. It is always clean and well stocked. It suits our needs with plenty of room to spread out. We love the side yard for activities.
Liesel is quick to respond to any questions. We will be back.
Liesl was kind and accommodating, and very responsive. The home was beautiful, incredibly clean, well equipped, and so comfortable. We loved the porch and the spacious patio, as well as all the wonderful spaces inside. It's an easy walk to the beach and we appreciated being able to use the beach chairs and paddle boards. I've been going to Macatawa for years, I'd come back to Fishbowl again and again!!
Spacious cottage that’s steps from the beach. This is our our 5th (I think!) stay here and we love every minute. Having coffee in the mornings on the screened in porch and walking to the beach for sunset are two of our favorite things. Kids love all of the paddle boards and the waves, and the ping pong table in the garage. We look forward to many more summers at Fishbowl!
This place is a gem! This is our 3rd summer staying at Fishbowl and we will be back again. Our group was 4 adults and 4 kids ages 9-13. The house has plenty of room for everyone and we adults especially love coffee in the mornings on the screened in porch. The beach is better than ever, lots of sand and space to spread out. The kids love using the paddle boards in the water - kept them entertained for hours. Liesl, the owner, is wonderful and goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. Thank you for a great week!
This is the second year we have stayed at Fishbowl - it's a spacious cottage in a perfect location. Our group is two families, each with 2 adults and 2 kids. Kids love the bunk room & the comfy living room couch. We adults love the wraparound screened in porch and the well stocked kitchen. We all love using the paddle boards and appreciate the ample beach chairs. Each year we try to extend our stay, lol, we just need to book 2 weeks! One thing to note, the beach is greatly diminished this year, and the end of the week we were there they blocked off the steps to the beach entirely to begin remediation of the erosion. We could still access the beach, it was just a little longer walk to a different set of stairs. The Lake Michigan water levels are at an all time high right now, but we are told they run in cycles so hopefully next year we will have more beach back. Either way, you can't go wrong with this property!
This was our 5th summer staying at this gem of a cottage. That should say enough. This year we stayed for 10 days after Labor Day. Still beautiful weather. It was just my husband and I this time, but we recommend it for families, for sure. Ours has enjoyed the property, the beach and the surrounding area again and again.
What a delightful cottage, the owner is wonderful and very accommodating. Fishbowl was very clean, charming, and had all the special ambience of Macatawa park. And loved the AC! Especially loved the driveway, being able to unload luggage and groceries easily. The kids loved the garage with ping-pong table and having a yard to run in, not typical of Macatawa Park. Can’t wait to stay there again!
We're a group of two families; this is our 4th summer staying at Fishbowl. It's everything you want a lake cottage to be! We especially love the wraparound screened in porch, and the easy walk to the beach (which is huge this year!) Our kids used the basement to play games and everyone loved using the paddle boards on the lake. We can't wait for next summer!
Fishbowl is truly the best of the best if you are looking for a big lake beach trip. We enjoyed every minute we were there with our family. The kids cried for 15 minutes in the car when we left because they didn't want to leave. Such amazing memories and fun. Great hosts, great location, great house, great beach, and great memories. Thank you for everything! Bill
We have stayed here 4 or 5 summers in a row. Each has been wonderful. The cottage is spacious and stocked with necessities as well as fun like yard games and paddleboards and ping pong. Holland is a delightful vacation spot and close to other gems like Saugatuck and Grand Haven and Grand Rapids. My favorite is coffee on the screened in porch rivaled closely by sunsets on the beach.
A lot of room to spead out with the three levels, wrap around porch and garage (taught the grandsons how to play ping pong) plus yard. The neighborhood was very comfortable and the location made for easy walking to many destinations. We were slighlty disapponited that the nearest beach access was now closed due to rising lake levels. With that said overall we had a great time.
We have stayed here 3 summers in a row. I love the screened in porch, the full yard with sunshine most of the day and plenty of room in the house for cooking, gathering and hanging out. My teens love the ping pong in the garage and the basement hangout space. The owners are responsive and wonderful to work with. Don't hesitate!
What a wonderful property nestled just steps from the beach. We enjoyed everything about our stay from the comfy beds to the family frisbee on the massive lawn to the gorgeous sunsets on the beach ... we could go on and on! But our favorite thing is the amazing wrap around screened in porch with twinkle lights and ample seating. We chilled out there every evening and it was nothing short of wonderful!!
We had two young families - 4 parents, 5 kids under 8 - and we could not have had a more enjoyable stay at Fishbowl! Excellent location, very clean and spacious, and a VERY short walk to the beach. The wrap around porch and back patio were great, and the side yard was an added bonus for the kids. Plus the couch is very comfortable for a nap after chasing kids around all day! The garage is plenty spacious with chairs and toys for the beach, and us parents enjoyed a nightly game of beer pong.
The owners could not have been easier to work with. They were quick to respond to any questions we had and provided many nearby options for restaurants and recreation.
Highly recommend Fishbowl, we hope to come back next summer!
Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids ages 7-11) had a wonderful week at this fantastic property. This was our 6th summer renting in Macatawa, and this may have been our favorite house we’ve stayed in. The owners are so accommodating and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The screened-in porch is lovely, the large yard is perfect for kids, and we enjoyed the short walk to the beach. We are ready to book for next year!
We stayed with our two daughters, their spouses and our 6 grandchildren (12 people total). The house was clean & spacious enough for everyone. Everything we could have needed was available. The owner welcomed us and responded quickly when we had a question. Short walk to Lake Michigan and short drive to Holland. I would recommend it!
We stayed in this cottage July 2019 and do not have anything negative to say about our entire experience. The cottage is PERFECT for a family trip with so many different spots around the house to relax. The house has the perfect mix of "cottage" and "home". The screened in porch was my personal favorite. The garage has a ping pong table, which was a huge hit, as we have some fun tournaments! The stand up paddle boards were also big fun with the lake was calm.
The owners were extremely helpful with any and every question we had. They did everything in their power to ensure we enjoyed our stay and are extremely responsive. Again, nothing negative to say!
The location is just about as good as you can get! BEAUTIFUL! Quick (and I mean really quick) walk to the beach which was exactly what we were looking for. If you have never visited Macatawa, this is definitely the house to stay in. If you have visited, you know how great the short walk is :)
10/10 across the board!!
