Lovely escape

This is a beautiful little cabin on the outskirts of Island Park. My kids loved the bunk room and many stuffed animals they could play with. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed to cook all our meals. It is about 30 minutes from Yellowstone. Great stay!

camping at its best

Awsome property like staying in a motel but being alone and being able to grill and have a bonfire for someors, and the companionship of sitting around the fire and visit. Kids loved the games and time outside. It was close enough to Yellowstone and other fun things in Island park to go to. Would go there again .

Great little cabin.

The property was just as described, which is always nice. Nicely stocked, had everything we needed. Only complaint was the stuffiness in the house, super hot! At least there are multiple fans in the home to help out. Had a great time!

Awesome Place to Stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sometimes it is hard to know what you are signing up for, when you rent a vacation place without knowing the area or property. Of all the places our family has ever rented, this was probably my favorite. It is small, but so clean, well-stocked and decorated that it was perfect. The kitchen had EVERYTHING you could possibly need and everything was so clean. The neighboring cabins were really close, but it was still quiet and peaceful. Our family enjoyed staying here immensely. Only 30 Minutes to Yellowstone, and still lots to do around Island Park.

2021 Vacation

This was a nice property. It's about a 30 minute drive from west entrance to park but not bad. TV had issues. Didn't get good signal but we were gone mostly. You have to use single ply toilet paper due to septic. We brought our own but looks like people before us didn't. I would bring as it is about 2 dollars per role locally. No AC but not bad if you open windows. Has great kitchen an bed rooms and was very clean. I would stay again.

The ideal Island Park cabin

Was at the cabin for four nights with my son, grandson and a good friend. The cabin was clean upon our arrival. It is spacious and the bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is roomy and equipped to allow you to prepare even the most exotic meals. The morning after our first night, we were visited by a mother moose with two calves, which was especially neat. Our Fall trip to Island Park is an annual event. I think that we have found the home for our subsequent trips. One tiny quibble, which didn't affect our enjoyment of the cabin in the slightest. The overview description of the cabin noted that the DVD player was a BluRay player, which it was not. That minor error should be corrected, because if somebody brings BluRay disks, they won't work. That quibble aside, I'd rate this cabin 5-stars, 10 out of 10, and A+.

Nice cabin but needs repairs

We stayed in this cabin on a trip to Yellowstone. Overall it is a nice little cabin. There are lots of repair issues we noted that are easy fixes and I feel should be kept on top of by the property management company. Most of the blinds are broken and either can’t be raised or lowered, which interferes with trying to get airflow with opening windows since this cabin doesn’t have a/c. Several utensils were broken or unusable as well, the main burner on the stove didn’t work, the grill was unusable because of filth and rust. The hand soaps in the bathrooms barely had anything left and what was there had been really watered down with no backup supply provided. There are games provided, but many of them don’t contain the pieces you need to play the games. None of these things were that big of a deal that affected us having a good time, but I feel they could attend better to these details given the money we paid to stay there. The location was a nice wooded lot and was close to Yellowstone with gas, groceries and eating establishments available nearby, which was nice. It is in a quiet neighborhood also. We didn’t really explore the town of Island Park since most of our time was spent in Yellowstone, but there seemed to be a lot of trails and other outdoor activities nearby as well. Overall, I would recommend this cabin, but encourage the property management company to complete needed repairs to make it more comfortable and accommodating to their guests.

Great Place - But no heat for a very cold weekend!

We arrived Friday night to a beautifully decorated place. Everything was clean and organized. The boys went for an early evening snowmobile ride. As we settled in, we noticed that the gas fireplace would not turn on. My husband has experince with these and nothing we tried would work. I called maintenance and a friendly guy showed up within 30 minutes. He said it was the thermostat - he would pick one up in the morning and be out first thing to fix it so we would have heat. Yep - he never retured to fix it - we didn't even get a phone call! We had no heat in that part of the house the entire weekend. The bedrooms were at least warm with electric heaters. We had to keep the dining room unit on very high in order to get any heat in the kitchen, dining room and living room area. However, the living room area remained very cold all weekend. We had to sit in sweatshirts and under blankets in order to even use that part of the house. It was very disappointing! Other than being cold when we came in from snowmobiling, the area is wonderful for recreation and we will definitely come back annually. Even though we loved this house, we didn't feel it worth it after having to huddle around the dining room table to be together & get warm. All in all, we had a lovely family weekend, but must give a low rating due to the heat issue in the middle of winter & major snow storm happening. If I could rate the maintenance company a zero and you a wonderful I would!

Skip this one if you plan to cook at all

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property itself is fine, great location, easy access to Yellowstone. The bedding left a great deal to be desired. The bunkbed room smelled like rotting garbage, and the bedding smelled as if it hadn't been washed in months. It was disgusting. The tub in the laundry room had a large crack in the bottom, and needs to be fixed immediately, otherwise, the owner will end up with mold problems that will just add to the smell of the place. The stove was the absolute worse part of this stay. The stovetop looked as if it had never been even wiped down, let alone cleaned or scrubbed. They charge a substantial "cleaning" fee after your stay regardless of how clean you leave the place- however, their cleaning service leaves a lot to be desired. I scrubbed for hours and could not get the stovetop to a place where I even felt comfortable cooking on it. The property managers were more intent to making sure I removed all garbage from the place, not in responding to requests for garbage bags (there were NONE left at the property), or responding to notifications about the rotting garbage smell or dirty kitchen and oven. The refrigerator is not working properly either. The back side of the fridge freezes everything. Not fun to wake up to frozen eggs in the morning. Place needs some serious maintenance and a presence to ensure their "cleaning service" is doing their jobs.

Family trip to YNP

We were really pleased with our stay at wagon wheel cabin. It was perfect for my family of 5. The cabin was very clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. I would recommend grocery shopping beforehand. We were so loaded we didn’t have room for groceries. The fire pit was great. Even in the snow! Very beautiful.

More than just Yellowstone

The cabin is perfect for groups of 3 to 8. It was cozy and comfortable and offered everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. There's plenty of space not just for sleeping, but a big table for eating together and plenty of room on the couches for lounging. The outdoor fire pit is an exceptional touch as well. Island Park is a short drive outside of Yellowstone, but it also offers its own beauty. There's plenty of fishing, hiking, ATVing, etc available. Another great feature is a bar called Shotgun Bar. It's walking distance from the cabin. It's a fun place that has live music in the summer time. Just be sure to bring your bear spray for the crawl, sorry, I mean walk home at night.
