I would recommend this place for two people who are staying in Tucson for a week or less. It is the third house on a large lot next to a wash separated by a living ocotillo fence. You look out on a desert view of saguaro, palo verde, prickly pear, barrel cactus and other natural plants. Yet it’s surrounded by busy streets in central Tucson. It’s remarkably quiet and peaceful with views of the Catalinas and the Tucson mountains across the city.
The house itself, however, is very small and plain with very poor storage, as other guests have noted. We stayed a month, and that was too long. No discount is offered for longer stays, so maybe the hosts prefer shorter-term guests. We had four wire shelves to store a month’s supply of clothes— no dresser, no pantry for food, no cabinet for dishes. There were barely enough dishes for two. The only provisions were salt, pepper and 20 pods of pumpkin spice coffee (ouch). We continued the house tradition of leaving the coffee for the next guest. We never met the hosts or even had a conversation with them. They seem to be very busy people.
Catalina Foothills met our lodging needs. Very secluded and off the main road. The only thing we could have used was small hand towels for hair & hand drying. Also due to the strong smell of laundry detergent inside, we left them outside. Very quaint stone walls allow outdoor sitting (as well as patio chairs). Thanks for providing travelers your casita.
This location was perfect for us. It is isolated and quiet, but only minutes from shopping, walking trails and restaurants. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Erman and Jessica are wonderful hosts. And the Tucson weather couldn't have been nicer. We have already booked our next stay.
This property had everything I needed for a long stay in Tucson, and Erman and Jessica made sure I was well taken care of. They were available for any questions I had and SUPER responsive. This place truly felt like home for me and my dog. I loved watching sunsets off the patio and seeing all sorts of wildlife - javelinas, bunnies and coyotes. It’s definitely your own private oasis and I would recommend this property to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of town and a busy life. However the property is still close to everything and we enjoyed the short drive to the “loop” in the mornings for walks!
This is a charming cottage and the owners are helpful and responsive. However, the spaces are tight and better clothing and food storage spaces are needed. The closet needs real structure as the temporary setup collapsed easily, and I would suggest building in drawers or cubbyholes and hanging rods. Second most important add would be a shelf or shower caddy built into the shower. Last, it would be really nice to have a storage area for food other than the counter, but this is less important than the other two. Space could also use nicer curtains/shades. It seems built in a hurry and now needs some finishing. Location was good for easy access by car to river path and to stores/restaurants but not a walkable location.
We enjoyed our stay in Erman's cottage. It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do while we were there. It is a small place, but for the price, I think it was a good value and had everything we really needed. Emran was VERY responsive and the 2 times we requested something, items were promptly delivered with wine and chocolate as a bonus! If you are looking for a quiet, reasonably priced, no frills place located in the Foothills, I recommend this rental. It was very clean and newly furnished, with things in good working order and a comfortable bed.
A suggestion: I think it would have been helpful to have a little information sheet for guests when they arrive.
We had a great time at Erman's property - he was so accommodating! It is a great stay and the property is the most interesting we have ever stayed at. Hundreds of hours have gone into the landscaping. It is a great private location, yet close to most everything that you would want or want to do
We had a lovely stay in this private, clean and simple casita. The location is as described in other reviews - it's the 3rd house down the driveway from the main road so it felt very private and was quiet. The inside and outside were as described - clean, spacious for its size, and functional for our nearly 1-month stay in the area while working remotely. The hosts were very responsive and took care of the minor request we had in the first couple of days after arriving. I'd definitely recommend the casita and we hope to stay here again the next time we're in Tucson!
Very private, secluded in a good location. Erman was response to our needs. Unit was as depicted on line. Erman lives nearby and answered our needs quickly. We shortened our stay because of the Coronavirus and Erman refunded part of our stay because of the situation. We appreciated this very much. Availability to a great walking path. restaurants and grocery stores.
This property is quiet since it is third house down the driveway entrance. Enjoyed coming home late afternoon/evening after long day out to sit on the back deck for a drink. Place was just the right size for two people (queen bed). Could use hooks in bathroom to hang towel or clothing for showering. I just opened the cabinet door and draped my things over the door. Could also use a bathroom rug to step out of shower. Owner was notified of gap under front door and offered to fix immediately, but we indicated we were ok for our stay. The place is great for bike riding since it is about a mile from the Rillito River trail...all downhill to get there and you don’t need to bother taking your car. You can ride for lots of miles and we always felt safe. Location is close to a variety of grocery stores and a short drive to tons of hiking trails. Owner is very receptive to needs and easy to get hold of. They also give you complete privacy. Enjoyed our stay. Monique and Pat T—Indiana
The location of this property was perfect for what we wanted to do. We were able to get to amazing hiking trails within minutes, the grocery store was super close and the bike path was just down the street. We were able to use the kitchen for all of our food needs and it was great having a washer and dryer. The sunsets were great, and the location was private even though it was around other houses. The little deck was nice for lunches. The shower pressure was good (always a concern) but it was weird to not have a place to put shampoo and soap. Thank you for a great home away from home!

Quiet, comfy and close to what you want
This is one of two rental units well back from the busy Swan Road in north Tucson. Nicely buffered by desert vegetation from neighbors, it's quiet and dark for night star gazing. The cottage includes a full kitchen, with a glass-top stove, microwave, dishwasher, plus over-under clothes washer and dryer. For non-Hulu users, it took us a bit of hand-holding to figure it out. The TV wi-fi connection will occasionally drop when you're watching it. To get signal back, turn set off, unplug cord, wait a bit, then plug back in. When red light on front of set stops flashing, you should have Internet link and be good to turn it on again. Good wi-fi link for laptop use. No tub, but a nice shower. There is a small deck out back, good for afternoon cocktails. Maybe half-mile south is parking lot access to Rillito River trail, and another half-mile west of there is a great dog park if you've brought your best buddy along. No dresser in bedroom, but drawers beneath bed provide storage. Perfect for two people, but 3-4 could manage tightly by using the hide-a-bed sofa.
