About this property
Welcome to #14, a skip & a hop to our famous Muizenberg beach, fun all the way.
From the road a green gate leads you down a tiled path to another gate, your separate entrance. Past our home to the indigenous back garden where you will enjoy our guest studio complete with wifi and no television (we want you to enjoy our outdoor life and not sit cooped up watching the box). It has two rooms, a bathroom and the porch. A built-in closet is found in the main bedroom where there are two single beds.
The bathroom consists of a shower, a hand-basin and a toilet. There are two mirror, one antique & full length mirror is behind the bathroom door.
A wooden sliding door separates the sitting room with a dining table a fully equipped kitchenette three chairs and another single bed. There is a large glass sliding door leading on to the porch shaded by an avocado pear tree and looking on to our delightful garden.
The blinds and wooden sliding door ensure that our guests will enjoy quiet, peaceful sleep each night. The studio also faces north which enjoys the warmth of the sun and is protected by the prevailing south-easter winds.
We have two medium dogs which you will love and a puppy which will love you.
Our son, teaches surfing at Surfer's Corner, on Muizenberg Beach.
There are also plenty of waterfront eateries and fun bars.
Above the village is Muizenberg mountain which forms part of the Table Mountain National Park running from Cape Town to Cape Point. Muizenberg sits half way between these two places so the tourist attractions like Table Mountain Cable car, the Penguins at Boulder's Beach and Cape Point Nature Reserve are all in easy reach by Uber or even by bicycle for the energetic traveller.
As close as the beach is but in the other direction is our own Zandvlei Nature Reserve which is the quietest place on the Peninsula and also home to the Clawless Otter and the fishing grounds or rather waters of the African Fish Eagle.
Up the road is our local community Masque Theatre where you can enjoy both amateur and professional theatre productions. Your host sometimes performs there, ask him for further details.

About the host
Hosted by David Muller

Together with my partner, Margot, who owns the property, we live in a delightful gabled home with our two children and our three dogs and the occasional rack pigeons who come down from the nearby mountains to nest on our front porch.
The photograph above is of our friends and neighbours and my mother-in-law, Ann enjoying an outdoor meal in our sunny back garden.
My name is David and I have been having tremendous fun as a stage actor entertaining audiences with single-handers telling stories. My partner is nursing sister who works as an educational manager at a local hospice. Robin my son teaches surfing and loves it and my daughter, Ruth is in Grade 9 at one of the best public schools in the country. Ruth wants to become an actress. Why, heaven alone knows. It's jolly hard work earning a living as an actor. I think that is why we enjoy have guests come and stay in our guest studio in our indigenous back garden,

Why they chose this property
We live in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Sometimes when there are no guests I sneak into the studio for a quick nap for it is a very very quiet spot.
The home also has a Dutch gable and my partner Margot's father was a Dutchman so i think that may have been the attraction.

What makes this property unique
The indigenous trees, the milkwood in the front garden and the white stink-wood and avocado pear tree in the back a are added attractions. We also have very friendly neighbours. We know just about every one in our road by name.
We also enjoy a low white wall fronting our property. This may be because our three medium size dogs are a deterrent sometimes.
Overall we are very happy to be living here. Both children only know Taringa as their home. Their bedrooms may be small but each room has high ceilings. Ruth sleeps in a bed on stilts giving her more space for all her clothes etc.
