Conveniently located with all the basics (except a tea kettle). Ben is charming, informative, and if you are as lucky as we were his band will be playing someplace nearby.

Great Location to Asheville
First off, Ben is very attentive for your stay. Great job Ben keep it up!
The house is eclectic with a great variety of LPs. Beds were comfy . No TV or microwave if that is your need. So prepare ahead of time. Ben was very accommodating and we had a great Christmas holiday with the family . Neighborhood not great for walking our furry friends. Options are available !
Bens dog and ours got along great and parks are not far away for them to get some fun.

Perfect for us
Cute, clean, and great location. We loved the vinyl, the vintage couch, and the huge window to watch the birds. Ben is cool to deal with.

Nice alternative to staying downtown Ashville
Overall this was a great place to stay. It is very convenient to downtown Ashville. Ben has and is doing a great job on the remodeling of this home. He checked in with us to see if we needed anything and let us know we could contact him any time. At first sight, the neighborhood needs attention, but we felt safe and secure there. Would stay there again when back in the area.

Loved the chickens!
It's a bit "rustic" in spots, but a great place overall. The proximity to our favorite restaurants was awesome, and it's an easy walk to Zillacoah, which I highly recommend. Having a king sized bed was also a great perk. There is no TV, but the internet was zippy, and there's something for most everybody in the vinyl collection. Could not find the tea kettle that I see in this photo; it would have come in handy. Overall, it was well worth the price. And we really enjoyed watching the chickens get up and down from the tree out back!

Great experience
Rustic, cute house. Two comfortable beds, great kitchen and bathroom. If you've come to Asheville to enjoy being out in Asheville, this place is perfect. If you're looking to hang-out in the house a lot, might not be the best fit -- the living space is pretty small (but if you're going to Asheville, you should be out enjoying a great city). Owner was really nice, everything was easy, check in/check out simple. No real yard if you bring your dog (we did) but it's a nice street to walk them on. Very close to downtown and West Asheville. Uber rides into those areas was cheap and fast. We had a great time and would gladly stay here again.

Close to Everything!
This is a great little house! It's close to everything you could want in Asheville, less than a 10min drive to seemingly everywhere. Ben's description is completely accurate, the home's exterior & the grounds are indeed "unassuming" but the interior is relaxing and comfortable.

Charming and close to everything!
Sweet little house, with lots of character. We felt so at home! The chickens, garden and vinyl kept us never wanting to leave. We loved the remodel that did an amazing job at keeping the original charm. Thanks Ben!

Cute and convenient!
This property was very conveniently located close to downtown and the biltmore area and the highway so that it was easy to find. There is no fenced in yard but it was still a great stay for my dog as the street rarely gets any traffic so is great for walks. The kitchen is big and nice to cook in, beds are comfortable, and bathroom clean. We didn't mind that there was no TV but remember to bring some games if you plan on spending a night in! The property owner was available and responsive to any needs we had during the stay.

About the host
Your host
I'm an Asheville native and local musician (banjo). I have lived in all of my vacation rental properties at one point or another in my recent memory, and I know the surrounding neighborhoods extremely well. I am also very well acquainted with Asheville's food, bar, and music scene and can advise on where to catch a great meal or live music on pretty much any given night of the week. I love exlploring this area and have spent a lifetime doing so, and I'd be happy to advise on my favorite trails, bike paths, urban walks, and swimming holes. In addition to my small rental property business, I own a gutter cleaning business, @guttercleanAVL.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood punches in as one of my favorites in Asheville. It's proximity to downtown, the quiet but powerful energy of the river nearby (no Helene damage is visibile or apparent from the home), the large swath of forest immediately across the river from the house (recently permanently protected as the result of a long running community battle against a developer), and some of my favorite breweries and coffee shops in town within walking distance. You're 2.5 miles from the very center of downtown Asheville. You're 1.5 miles from Trader Joe's, and 15 minutes to Bent Creek and the Biltmore Estate. Just over the mountain about a mile away is UNC-Asheville, and you're a 10 minute drive to West Asheville and the River Arts District.
What makes this property unique
The excellent kitchen with views. The vinyl record collection. The living history vibe of the home's interior. Aforementioned proximity to several parks and the UNC-Asheville campus. The deep bathtub. Comfy beds with high end linens.
