Great Mountain Cabin!

We had a fantastic time at this mountain home! The property had everything we needed for our family's stay. We were there over Thanksgiving and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary items to support the large meal. The location of the property is very private and provides some very nice views of the surrounding mountain tops. We also enjoyed the secluded driveway leading up to the cabin which added to the sense of remoteness and adventure. The kids had a great time cooking smores and hotdogs down at the fire pit. The hot tub was very nice and relaxing. We were easily able to connect to the internet, and the tv had access to all the sports games and kids shows to ensure all were happy! This property checks all the boxes. David, the owner was very easy to communicate with. He was quick to respond and even checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend to others who are looking for that perfect Mountain Home and hope to return in the future.

Just like the pictures

The cabin was beautiful. It's was just like it was pictured. We definitely felt like we were home away from home. Although the location isn't visible via GPS, it's fairly easy to find the location by the directions given by David. It's definitely a trip up the mountain but the scenery is enjoyable Be very careful going up at night because there are obviously no lights. Our stay here was an unforgettable one. We were surprised to see that across from the cabin is a beautiful viewing deck of the blue ridge provided with a set of rocking chairs and a convenient table for breakfast, coffee or wine. I definitely recommend.

We loved the cabin, the view is priceless!

The cabin was perfect for two families wanting to spend Christmas in the NC Mountains. Plenty of sleeping options, plush towels and a kitchen that had everything one could need. I am sure we will be back, and recommending others to stay as well.

Luxurious and modern cabin has it all!

This luxurious and modern cabin has it all! A group of friends and I wanted to plan a hassle-free weekend get-away to experience the foliage in all its glory at the Blue Ridge Mountains. The location is surrounded by nature and you have it all to yourself. There was plenty of room for all of us. the whole property is huge and beautifully designed and decorated. There was plenty of space to for everyone in our group to do their own thing: TV watching on the loft area, catching up with work with the high speed internet, reading and relaxing in the outdoor rocking chairs, or sipping wine by a gorgeous fireplace. There's even a fire pit outside and a hot tub we didn't get to use because we were so enthralled by all the other creature comforts inside. You won't want to leave! The owner had everything ready for our enjoyment and he was helpful in suggesting area fine dinning and other tasty places to eat. Don't forget to leave the cabin for stunning sunsets, waterfalls and plenty of trails!

Amazing! Views, Sofas, Kitchens...everything..

Amazing! The place is very seculded and quite. The views the porcehs and every window are awsome. We felt at home immediatly. The fully equiped kitchen had everything just where you would expect it to be. And every item was good qualtiy. We fell in love with the big, plush sofa and chairs which enhanced the warming fireplace. The big ceiling fan helped us keep the temperature balanced. I love it hot and my partner loves it cooler. The beds are very comfy . That combined with the sound of the leaves ruffling made sleeping a pleasure. We will be back!

A week of fun and relaxation...

Thank you David, for allowing us to stay in your mountain home! It was such a welcoming place for a group of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday—which was one of many celebrations during our stay. For anyone desiring to be literally right off the parkway, this house would be hard to beat. The Doughton Recreation area was convenient and allowed for a nearly panoramic view of the mountains. Seeing the night sky from this area was awe inspiring. We happened to be there during a period where we were able to see meteor showers. Also a short drive, given the house’s location, was a day trip to mountain bike (downhill) on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Emphasis is on “downhill”. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors on a bike. Luckily, we went on a weekday. We were told weekends could get crowded. Whatever one’s desire, whether it be lazing on the deck, in the hot tub, hiking, or just taking rides on the parkway, there is something for everyone to enjoy! We hope to go back again soon!

Just what we needed!

Just what we needed! This property met all our wants and needs. It is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway so the drive to the cabin set the stage for a relaxing week. Tranquil Ridge is well furnished and extremely comfortable. Connectivity was no issue…great internet service. Love the décor and grateful for the quality linens and kitchen appliances. There's plenty of room in the kitchen for multiple chefs and helpers which makes this home a great get away for families and friends. Other favorite areas of the home were the loft where you feel like you are in a tree house taking in the long range view through the expanse of windows, the large wrap around porch with plenty of seating, and absolutely everything about the master suite. The property is well maintained and very quiet . We enjoyed the cool breezes, the light show from the lightening, the music of the birds, the deer, and the Turkey family with their 7 little ones. Once we were rested we were ready to explore the towns of Jefferson, West Jefferson, and Boone. Recommended restaurants are The Hotel Tavern in West Jefferson and Wild Craft Eatery in Boone. Tranquil Ridge is close to Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Price Lake, and several outfitters nearby for canoeing or floating down New River. We hope to return with friends to enjoy the autumn color. Thank you for sharing your home and for creating such a welcoming and restful environment. John M. July 4, 2018

Exceptional!

Plenty of room for the eight of us. Lots to do close by. The cabin was very comfortable and very clean. Substantial amount of pots, pans, silverware, etc. We make trip to NC every year for family reunion and have rented numerous cabins. This is far above the accommodation that we have previously found. Plan on making a trip again next year and hopefully this cabin will be available for our return.

Magical!

I wanted to do a special trip with my four nephews who are in their 20's and this was the perfect choice. We were able to spend time enjoying each others company while exploring the great outdoors. The cabin is conveniently located near the Blue Ridge Parkway so we had easy access to all kinds of activities including hiking trails, rafting and of course golf! We spent time in the hot tub and around the fire pit and watched the sunrise and sunset with the beautiful mountain back drop. The cabin was nicely appointed and we all said we would come back again. A big thank you to David for his attentiveness during our stay ensuring we had a great visit!

Perfectly peaceful. Absolutely beautiful.

Perfect mountain setting; gorgeous view; private and peaceful; beautiful cabin, well furnished and equipped; both spacious and cozy; lots of things to do for nature lovers; “I can’t believe this hidden gem is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway.” Will definitely stay again. Would be a great place for a family holiday. Better than expected. A real get-away! We’ll be back.

Owning a mountain cabin has been a dream of ours for many years, which finally came true in 2018. We are so happy to be able to share our home away from home with others to enjoy the beauty and solitude of nature.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains over 20 years ago and have been looking for the perfect vacation home there ever since. Not until 2018 did we find the perfect property that combines breathtaking natural beauty with privacy, modern convenience and great location.

What makes this property unique

Long range mountain views and perfect privacy on a large tract of land with no visibility to other homes, situated near many outdoor activities and easy to access off of the Blue Ridge Parkway without having to wind for miles on difficult roads.
