The house was beautifully decorated & it just felt like home. We had an amazing Thanksgiving. We wanted to come back for Christmas, but no surprise, it was already booked. We plan on going back soon.
Connie was so sweet & attentive. My favorite thing was when Connie took us on a tour & told us about the history of the house. My family & I just loved everything..
Incredible property- beautiful grounds and lovingly appointed home. The Texas Sage bushes bloomed after a hard rain, so we were able watch the bees and butterflies from the porch. Great outdoor living space in backyard. Gorgeous restoration of the home. Thanks for your hospitality, Connie!
Property was as represented. We arrived at the property late and were given a tour of the home over the phone by Connie which helped us understand the history of the property and the restoration that she had done. Having previously lived in an 1870's home this home brought back a few memories. We never as the property in daylight but I'm sure the outside was as charming as the interior. We would stay here again.
We loved our stay. This farmhouse has been restored with such love and pride. It is clean, well decorated, and comfortable.
The location is great-out in the country where it’s so quiet and peaceful but close enough to town. Our family really enjoyed our weekend, it went too fast. We are looking forward to another stay at this beautiful farmhouse!
Perfect location and super comfy well appointed home.
Connie was so informative. This old farm house is so charming and comfortable. All the antique furniture, pics and fixtures are awesome. We will be back.
Spent a great time with my daughters, granddaughters and ggdaughters-in-love. Lots of space to relax and enjoy one another. Close to the Georgetown and Walburg Biergarten which we love to visit.
Papa’s Hill is just lovely! The renovation was done thoughtfully and expertly. The view is of wheat and corn fields, and the interiors are comfortably furnished. So many places to sit and read, relax and visit. We felt coddled and comforted here. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all, yet have a real kitchen, living area and outdoor areas to gather!
We booked this place for a weekend getaway with friends and it was perfect. Plenty of room to spread out. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, cozy sitting room, and stunning sunrises. A pleasant 20-minute drive to downtown Georgetown for fun and food.
Adorable property lovingly decorated (although it was late February and all the Christmas stuff was still up - so many lights indoors and out that we couldn't figure out how to turn them all off at night- a bit annoying). Overall well done. Beautiful kitchen and living room but no working fireplace and NO tv downstairs anywhere. Only tv is a small one upstairs, so not convenient for those who may want to stay up watching if someone up there is ready for bed.
Location was great, the homeowner was obviously proud of the place and gave a literal hour tour pointing out every item and picture and such. Sweet, but we needed to meet some people and couldn't get away. This place is stocked with plenty of great linen but very hard beds so we all 3 had backaches.
There is a fire pit in the back yard but the back door is like Ft. Knox and we never could get it to open at all - and the front door had a combination lock on it but no way to dead bolt it from the inside at night so we three women were a bit worried, both about someone coming in the front and being able to get out the back in case of fire. And it was a bit creepy having to go all the way around to the back of the house in the dark at night (no side lights at all)
I did report to the owner that I had two black widow spiders IN my bed and also obviously a mouse (or something of the sort) in my room - a never opened bag of candy was eaten into and scattered on the floor. But she never acknowledged the message. I don't hold her responsible - the country has critters, but I thought she would probably want to spray and was just trying to help. Black widows in the bed made for restless sleep the next couple of nights.
The kitchen was well appointed except for working can opener and had trouble with stove elements not working properly. But the looks of the place were great.
I don't mean to sound like a negative Nellie - things happen, but we 3 stay in rented homes several times a year with almost never a problem. All-in-all, the house was really cute and would be just about perfect with a few fans added for some breeze, at least one tv downstairs and the ability to get out that backdoor (dangerous). The size of the house was great - could have slept a big family- would be a good holiday place - especially since they put up oodles of Christmas decorations - even a couple of trees. My girlfriends and I had a great time in Georgetown and hanging out in the farmhouse for the weekend.
This is the fourth outstanding visit to Papa's Hill for three "shopping ladies" who've traveled together for years. Connie's farmhouse just outside of Georgetown has become number one on our list of favorite places to visit. The house is always spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, the views are spectacular and working with Connie is always a pleasure. We're already thinking about another visit.
Fantastic place to get away and unwind. Very well maintained and Connie is a great host. If you're looking for something that is private, quiet, and away from it all you can't go wrong here.

Wedding Weekend in Georgetown
Papas Hill was the perfect place for our family to stay for a weekend of wedding festivities. It was such a nice and peaceful place to come back to after all if the events.
The house was meticulously decorated with so much care. A wonderful place to kick back and enjoy the setting, especially when watching the stars at night.

Papa's Hill is a charming restored farmhouse in an incredible hilltop setting.
Connie Rogers is a great host. She is rightfully proud of the restoration of this charming old farmhouse. The pictures do not do the property justice. The house is very large, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. This weekend was a little too cold for sitting outside but we will definitely return in warmer weather to take advantage of the outside areas and fabulous views.

About the host
Hosted by Connie Rogers
I have lived in this area for almost 45 years. I have been heavily involved in restoring two 100 year old historical homes with one being Papa's Hill. I proudly display the State of Texas Historical Marker and the National Historic Marker on my home in town. I have two sons, two beautiful daughter-in-laws and five wonderful grandchildren that have been strongly involved in encouraging and assisting me in establishing our farm home into a vacation getaway. We purchased the Hill after my husband, Hoy, retired and had a wonderful time bringing it back to life and even adding a second floor. Hoy loved sitting on the front porch watching the amazing sunsets each day. He also loved seeing all the many twinkling lights at night time of the small towns off in the distance from his hill top. I am originally from Louisiana and have been involved in selling Real Estate in Georgetown for over 25 years. I am presently with Keller Williams Realty Lone Star. After living all my life in Louisiana, it was a little hard to adjust to moving away from friends and family until we found and settled in this amazing area of Central Texas. When I recently experienced my first weekend with guests, I immediately knew I had had made the right decision for the farm. I loved the feeling that our guest family got from meeting and greeting each other after traveling from different parts of the U.S. Watching them love the antiques and decor of the home and recognizing that we had restored it to it's original condition warmed my heart beyond words. I hope you will come and enjoy the serenity and joy of Papa's Hill.
