Fall fishing trip

My stay in cabin 2 was great. Spent our time fishing and exploring the area. Be aware the water level is low this time of year. I would recommend this resort to a friend.

Old cabin, but very clean and comfortable. Very nice place to go snowmobiling.

Looking for a weekend snowmobile ride near Hayward WI. Snowmobile trail runs in front of cabin on the Chippewa flow age and connects to hundreds of miles of trails. Had a great stay.

Nice cabin in the woods

This was a nice, cabin in the woods next to a lake. The cabin is old, but the owners are doing a nice job of updating. It was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was also well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. Nice relaxing get away.

Tranquility.

I enjoyed my stay with these fine people. At first I was a bit dismayed that I didn't have TV nor AC but I did not miss it one bit. Cassidy and her family were friendly and readily available to help or answer any questions.

a clean basic cabin but be aware of details in listing

This was a clean basic cabin, just what we wanted in that regard. However there was some confusion in the details of what was listed as amenities. This cabin does not have air conditioning and when we asked for the portable unit they said was available, they were reluctant. The cabin got quite warm during the day even with the windows and drapes closed and didn't really cool off until the middle of the night. They did bring us a second fan which helped. There isn't any swimming beach and the TV is only operational to watch DVDs. There are kayaks but no canoe. A nice view of the water from our cabin #5. If you like to fish and bring your own boat, you would probably love this place. They did provide paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap and bedding but no towels. I did send a couple of messages prior to the start date to try to find out some of those things ahead of time but received no reply until we had already left on the drive there (over 5 hours for us). Luckily we had brought beach towels so we were able to take showers. The kitchen has a nice assortment of cooking equipment and plates, cups, silverware. Refrigerator is small and doesn't seem to cool sufficiently - it needs defrosting.

Great stay

We had a great experience. The kids enjoyed the complementary kayaks and paddle boat! There was a grill for us to use, which was nice. Only wish there was a fire pit closer to the cabin.

Great Resort

I had a great time with my group. We had just over 20 people and Cassidy was very helpful getting us accommodated. The location is amazing - in a quiet bay on the Chippewa Flowage with easy access to the open lake. The kitchens in the cabins were well stocked with everything needed to cook a decent meal. I'll be recommending this resort to anyone I know who wants a trip to the area.

Greetings and Snowy Winter to you all!!!
For those of you that don't know me, I am the older granddaughter of the creators of Musky Joe's Twin Pines Resort. (Cassy Wilkozek) I spent my childhood on the resort learning the business from Grandpa Nory and Grandma Gen. Grandma and Grandpa cleared the land and hand built the resort over 60 years ago.

Grandma grew up in Hayward and learned the business from HER grandparents (the original owners of Lost Land Lake Lodge.) Grandpa grew up in Chicago and fell in love with the area on family vacations at Big Musky Resort. Great Grandpa (Musky Joe) bought some land up here and decided to try his hand at the resort business. He and his son (Nory) began clearing and building, Grandma and Grandpa met when Grandpa picked up lumber at the local lumber yard that Grandma was working at as a bookkeeper. They fell in love, married and planted twin pines on the point in honor of their union. (Hence the name, Musky Joe's Twin Pines :)).

The two of them, with help from their sons and granddaughters, created a legacy here on the Famous Chippewa Flowage. Unfortunately, Grandpa passed away on Thanksgiving of 2017 (we all miss him ever so much) leaving Grandma wondering what to do with the resort. The thought of selling what she and Grandpa put their entire lives into was just too heartbreaking. The boys, although they love the resort, weren't keen on the management side of running things. (It takes a LOT of work, time, and customer service skills to keep a small resort competing with the big names.) As I have extensive business management, marketing, and customer service skills, I offered to try my hand at running things last summer. It was a smashing success!!! (Thank you to all that stayed with us this past summer, each and everyone of you are greatly appreciated!)

Heading into Season 2019, we are working on upgrading the interiors of the cabins (nothing major, I really LOVE the theme Grandma and Grandpa created) new b

Why they chose this property

Each one of our cottages is the product of my Grandparents' love and hardwork. I, myself, grew up helping clean the cottages, "tend" bar, keeping the grounds clean, etc. I couldn't imagine a "job" more rewarding than continuing the legacy.

What makes this property unique

Each cottage is set up with the comforts of home, without all the distraction. Views of the famous Chippewa Flowage can be seen from each living room window. Screened in porches to have a drink while watching the sun set (or rise.) Top Notch fishing right from the docks! Each cottage comes with a boat (motor at an extra charge), dock space, and a place to launch your boat right on site. Oh, and we LOVE dogs ;)!
