The house is on a secluded gravel drive with only one neighbor. The house is overall very quiet and in the middle of nature. There are three separate bedrooms in the house and a large sectional in the living room. There is a full kitchen available for guests. This place worked out fine for our family of four to stay near Harpers Ferry which was further than it seems on the map because of the river (~25 min). Was very glad we arrived during the daylight because the driveway is a long (and bumpy) off-road gravel path. The host was responsive to our questions.
This property was very nice, and was as represented in the pictures. The house was very secluded and private, and was very peaceful and quiet. I would recommend this property to a large family who appreciates space to play!!
It is our understanding that this is a new property for the owner and that they restored it. They have done a lovely job and the home is fully stocked and has everything you could need.
Eight of our family came for a weekend getaway to spend time together and visit historic Harper’s Ferry. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and enjoy breakfast, TV, games and fellowship and watching the wildlife right from the windows. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. Only minor complaint is there weren’t enough washcloths, but that was not enough to take any stars away. Would definitely recommend this place.
We had an amazing stay. It was a peaceful country location with a hiking trail tight on the property. The house was very comfortable and had everything you could need. Stocked kitchen, extra blankets, plenty of games. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. We had a great time and would recommend this home.
Can’t say enough good about this property and rental. The kitchen and appliances all appear new. The living room is SO comfy and inviting. The beds are all very comfortable. Ceiling fans in each room. Plenty of towels. Everything you’d need. Saw a doe and fawn one morning. Love the location (I’ma country boy). If you like city life and clubbing, this probably isn’t going to appeal to you. If you like peace, quiet, nature, and the outdoors, this is your heaven.
If i has to find one thing to grumble about…it would be tough. We loved our stay. The only thing would be the driveway. There are two ways in. The first would have been a major problem if i had a very small or low to the ground car. It’s long, dirt, with some mud puddles (it had rained recently), and rocky. No concern with getting stuck in mud, they’re not deep puddles. Just made the car dirty, no big deal. I have an suv so it wasn’t a problem. But a small car could have trouble on the rocks. Thankfully there’sa second driveway that’s much smoother.
Jairo the owner, despite never meeting him was on the ball with communication and all instructions so it was an easy check in process. Everything was perfect. Great property, great location, and great stay!
Great 3 bedroom/2 full bath home, nice property, very clean. Perfect for our family of 9. Lots of nature and wildlife to experience, and several walking trails on the property. Owner is very accommodating.
Thanks again for a wonderful rental! We have rented two years in a row with you and had two different homes and neither disappointed! Very clean, nice location!
This home was very comfortable for our family of five, with nice beds and linens, and good living room and dining room space. The outdoor lighting was missing in a few places, and the kitchen was sparsely supplied. Directions should warn that the driveway is a private, stone lane that is very steep.
The house and grounds had everything we needed for our stay.
Clean, comfy linens, extra blankets, shower supplies, kitchen ware, outside table and chairs, fire pit, trail, across the nearby river from Harper's Ferry.
My group of 7 history buffs stayed at this house for 5 days while we toured Civil War battlefields in the area. This property was perfect for our purposes. It was clean, everything that we needed was there, and the location was ideal for what we were doing. As the weather was great we used the outside grill 2 nights and had dinner on the table on the lawn. Overall, a great experience.
The home was very clean and comfortable. Everything you needed for a pleasurable stay. The surrounding property was beautiful and so peaceful. There is a separate rental unit on the side of the home. The guests who stayed there during our visit were friendly and we only saw one another in passing. If you want a nice country retreat, this is the place.
We really enjoyed Jairo's place, it was stocked with everything that you need. Really refreshing to have all new bedding, towels, very well stocked kitchen with pans and anything to make dinner. It was raining all weekend so we were very comfortable on the huge wrap around couch, cooking dinner, and relaxing within a short drive of Harpers Ferry.
Great! Highly recommend. Fantastic getaway to unplug and enjoy nature. Owner was incredibly responsive and helpful (suggesting trails to check out). Very clean. Feels bigger than it looks. Highly recommend.
It was a delightful and peaceful home away from home. We were all comfortable and thrilled with our stay here! Both kids and adults had a wonderful experience. Gorgeous pastoral views, beautiful woods and stream. Jairo was a great host, welcoming, accommodating, prompt, and kind.
We had a very nice weekend. There was enough room for the six of us. With only 2 other houses near ours, the property was quiet. Jairo was very pleasant.
Enjoyed a fun weekend with family. The house was clean and well stocked. Beds were very comfortable. The large property was lovely. Took advantage of the marked trail and the fire pit. Our granddaughter enjoyed the labyrinth. We also explored a couple of the many historic sites and cities nearby. The owner was quick to respond to any questions during the entire process.
This house was the perfect size for a 7 person getaway. It was stocked with all you would need in a house in terms of appliances, cleaning supplies, spices and oil for cooking, and a washer & dryer. The aesthetic is simple, clean and spacious, and the house is close to some beautiful Harper's Ferry hikes. The views from the house are quite lovely as well. We enjoyed it completely. (The neighbor's confederate flag was off-putting, but we didn't have any issues with them). Thanks for providing a great place to stay!
