This lakeside home, has 5 spacious bedrooms, an additional bunk room that sleeps 6, and 3.5 bathrooms. The lofted great room has floor to ceiling windows, hand-scraped hardwood floors, and a stone fireplace framing the views of the lake. The bunk room is spacious, with 3 handcrafted bunk beds, perfect for the kids. The walkout lower level features lake views, stone fireplace and a refrigerator for wine. Outside there is a lawn leading to the lake, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and a dock with guest boat access. Each staircase has handcrafted baby gates for your toddlers. The driveway has room for 2 cars and guests. Updated washer, dryer, stove, microwave, and dishwasher provide the convenience of home while you’re on vacation.

You and your family will enjoy exploring the property and surrounding areas. From the woods and private trail in the front to the lake in back, your family will have endless adventures. The lake provides access to swimming, playing in the sand, fishing, and searching for turtles and frogs. Inside the cabin, kids will enjoy toys, games, and their own private bunk room with play camper. Pack’n’play is all set up with baby monitor and baby books.

The surrounding area offers serenity and tranquility for a perfect escape from the city. It is surrounded with over 20 miles of hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling trails throughout the Kettle Moraine State Forrest…the entrance is only a 0.5 mile walk from the property. Whitewater Lake is a clear water lake, with great fishing…and while known for it’s boating, is a much less trafficked lake relative to Lake Geneva and the Lauderdale Lakes. The locals love the lake for it’s calm waters, making it a fantastic place to fish or ski.

The lodge is located approximately 15-20 minutes from Lake Geneva, 10-15 minutes from the Lauderdale Lakes, and 15 minutes from Delavan. Geneva National, Grand Geneva, Hawk’s View, Evergreen Country Club, and Big Foot Country Club are less than 30 minutes away…and those are only a few of the courses nearby.

The Dancing Horses Theater, Exotic Bird Show, Animal Gardens and Petting Zoo, the Lake Geneva Magic Show, Ice Cream and some of Wisconsin’s best restaurants are close by. Whitewater offers multiple breweries, summer festivals, and a local farm to table restaurant. There are also multiple putt-putt golf courses nearby. For the adventurous types, you’ll have the opportunity to go zip-lining through the tree tops. IN the fall, Pierce’s farm stand offers fresh fruit vegetables, haystack rides, and one of the largest corn mazes in Wisconsin.

Located 90 minutes from Chicago, 50 minutes from Madison, 60 minutes from Milwaukee, it is a perfect way to escape the city…and the boat traffic of Lake Geneva, Delevan and Lauderdale. Situated within 7 minutes from Whitewater’s downtown and 20 minutes from downtown Lake Geneva, you have the benefit of all the amenities, without the crowds.

This house is the perfect retreat anytime of year to relax, recharge, and spend time with the people you love!

50th Anniversary Celebration with our son and daughter's families

The Whitewater Lake lake house was very accommodating for our family of 6 adults and 5 children. The house was spacious, beds were comfortable, nice showers and tub, plenty of bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, many books and some games for children, large washer and dryer, wonderful Chef's kitchen, and great view of Whitewater Lake. However, there were a number of discrepancies with the printed information provided to us, regarding both in/out of house items. 1. Although information explaining how to use the TV remotes throughout the house was listed in the Home Guest Manual, 4 bedroom TV's, plus the bunk room, were not hooked up to cable. We were certainly not there to watch TV. However, it was frustrating to search for a TV a few of the children could watch during their daily hour of quiet time, while the other children were napping. 2. The same manual invited guests to enjoy the kayak and paddleboat on the property. The paddleboat was to have been tied up to the pier. When we emailed the host about the paddle for the kayak, we were told for insurance purposes, the kayak was not available for our use. Paddleboat was also turned upside down away from the water, near the kayak. 3. We would have used the rake, which was to have been on the lower level deck, to clear away weeds/leaves near the swimming area beach the children were using, but there was no rake. 4. We did use the outdoor grill the first night we were there. A $50 fine would be charged if the grill was not cleaned by the time we departed. Our grill at home is much cleaner than the one we used at the lake house. Deck furniture should also be replaced, due to weather stress. 5. Our greatest concern, however, involved the Security System. The contract we signed with the owners/host stated: "The security system will be disarmed before your arrival and reactivated upon your departure." However, when scrolling the channels with the living room remote, we saw our family being recorded on the TV. When I contacted the host about this illegal invasion of our privacy, she responded in writing stating: "The alarm is disarmed before our departure. The cameras remain on to protect the home and to settle any disputes should "their" be any damage to the home." This is in total violation of the contract we signed with the host/owners. We were not aware we were going to be videotaped. We want other potential renters to be aware of this, if they are considering renting this property.

The house is gorgeous and feels like staying at a high end resort.

The living spaces, kitchen, bedding, and showers are all first class. We stayed over Christmas and it felt like we were at a high end mountain resort. The Ice Age trail is amazing - you can run from the house and be on the trail in minutes. Really a perfect winter getaway spot. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
