We stayed here for a concert at Rupp Arena. It was a great location and easy walk. The apt was clean and had everything we needed. We would stay here again!
The property was wonderful, it was clean and perfect place to stay for a concert at Rupp Arena. It was within walking distance. The coffee shop down the street was amazing. The property owners were very kind and welcoming. It was a fun evening with friends and we would definitely stay here again. If your looking for the best Vbro look no further stay here, you will not be disappointed!
Thoroughly enjoyed this artsy little apartment where we could enjoy walking in downtown Lexington. So many nice touches - real plants, art, coffee and snack bars. Hosts were very responsive for another excellent vrbo stay!
Bonus that it was available for a one night stay on our extended road trip.
WE will definitely stay again. Great communication. Perfect location within 5 minutes walking to EVERYTHING! Loved the area and the unit fits perfectly.
The apartment was clean and furnished nicely. We only stayed one night and were able to walk to a few bars/restaurants. Things to note: the staircase to the apartment is steep and narrow, and the beds have extra firm mattresses.
This was a perfect place to stay! We were passing through Lexington to split a long drive home from vacation. We only stayed one night, but my family agreed this would be a great apartment to stay for a longer visit to Lexington. Location was wonderful and I appreciated the historical designation for the neighborhood. Street parking worked out great! Beds were comfy and the laundry detergent they use makes the towels and sheets smell amazing. It’s a renovated attic space so there are lots of angled walls and nooks and crannies giving it some character. Great artwork on the walls and hung low (due to the wall angles) which added to the fun. Owners very responsive and friendly.
Super clean! ,Easy walk downtown and this is in cute neighborhood.
Shower was a challenge, but we are tall folks, and it is as described in the listing.
Owners are quick to respond and we hope to be back. :0)
A friend and I were in Lexington for a concert at Rupp arena, and it was in walking distance. Nice location close to a bunch of restaurants and bars. Very clean. And I agree with other reviews in that the shower is not made for tall people. It definitely has character.
Easy parking, beautiful neighborhood, unique architecture, nice stay!
Things to know:
Steep stairs to enter
Interesting shower situation see photos
Sheets and towels are washed with fragrance in detergent if you have allergies be aware
I have allergies to fragrance so I brought my own pillow
Coffee pods and granola at the unit
I will stay again
We loved the apt. The only downside was the bathroom. The shower is more of a tub so none of our group showered. The sink is small and dated. The rest of the apt is delightful and eclectic! Our group especially appreciated the cleanliness of the unit. It met all of our needs as we only stayed the one night.
We had a great stay in this property. It was SO close to Rupp Arena (5 minute walk, if that) and provided 2 street parking passes for easy parking.
The property was exquisitely clean and there were plenty of amenities (thanks for the K-Cups...much needed). It's the upper part of an old house so you do have to deal with the slanting roof lines re: ceilings and the bathroom only has a tub with a "portable" shower head due to the slanted ceiling above the tub, but it's all very doable.
It was a perfect space for our family who stayed there as well as for others to visit prior to our son's graduation at Rupp Arena.
The hosts are great! They were very informative and quick to get back to us with questions.
We would definitely recommend this location and would stay there again!
Loved everything about our stay!! We own an old house ourselves and it's always fun to see the way that people renovate their space. This property is very tastefully decorated with lots of beautiful plants outside (and next door!). The kitchen is great, HVAC system is great, and the property was very clean. I felt safe enough to do tummy time with my baby on the floor, so that should tell you how nice it felt!
Towels and basic amenities were well stocked. I'll say the water pressure is fine, but maybe not so much for those with thick hair. Also the shower is more of a bath unless you're very short. All totally fine from my point of view.
Will definitely keep this location on my list. Loved it!
With a quick trip planned for Lexington Haviland and John’s property was perfect. Easy to get to from Highway, walking distance to town (about 15 mins ), parking was easy and we felt safe in the area. The unit is as pictured with sloping ceilings but the space felt open for just use two.. more than 4 adults might make it feel a little tight. The unit was clean and check was easy with great communication i regards to some pre arrival questions. The shower is as pictured and you have to be a little creative but I’m 6’ and managed well, but if you are older might be a little tricky to get used to it.
Other than that we loved our trip to the Lexington area and would recommend this property.

Smelled of weed
I've stayed in this bnb before and was really excited to book it again for our next event in town, unfortunately this time we had an extreamly differant exsperiance. Before arrival we had received an email letting us know there was a "faint" smell of weed in the room from someone "smoking outside" ( and first of all any smell of it is frankly gross but we were willing to let it go.) When I tell you this was the STRONGEST grass smell I've ever smelled in my life I mean the strongest. I'm not unfamiliar with the smell of weed so I am fairly certain that it was a blaze with smoke (inside) before we arrived. Most of our stay we spent opening windows, cleaning, defusing and basically anything and everything you could think to try and make the smell go away. It was so strong we ended up feeling sick most of the time we were there, and panicking trying to get the smell off of our gourments because they can't be washed. Over all I'm shocked at this exsperiance and disappointed, I really liked this bnb, but I can't say I would at this point recommend it to anyway or plan on booking here again.
We're both Kentucky natives. Haviland is from Cynthiana, and John is from Lebanon. We rented an apartment in the house for several years and bought it in the summer of 2016 because we found it charming and also knew it would be challenging. It was in a state of disrepair when we bought it, and almost every area in the house had critical issues to address. We spent 18-months doing an intense DIY renovation to make it as inviting and comfortable as we can for our guests. We're still making minor adjustments and improvements almost daily, and it's become more of a passion now than work.
Why they chose this property
This particular apartment is within a historic house in a residential neighborhood near Downtown Lexington. It is in walking distance to bars and restaurants, and the owners live next door at 321 and are almost always available if-needed.
What makes this property unique
This home has many unique features, from the gingerbread moulding on the porch, to the hardwood floors inside. We purchased it from a friend who purchased it from a friend. We are constantly working to make it even better. Our favorite space is probably the backyard which is shared with all 3-apartments in the house.
