The house is located in a very quiet community very close the beach. The accommodations were perfect for my family who came to town for a memorial/celebration of life for my FIL
The house was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to 'check in' and out. We were very close to beach access. I definitely would love to go here again.
Wonderful, cozy house close to everything. The beds are super soft so if you have back issues, they might be problematic. They also have a security camera that monitors the front door and front of the house, so if you mind someone monitoring your comings and goings, it may make you uneasy.
We enjoyed our stay here and it was easy to get around Bayshore to visit other family members for our daily hang out on the beach. We had awesome weather all week!

There was plenty of hot water and the location was only a block and a half away from the beach, but 3 out of the 4 beds squeaked really bad when you sat down on them, the kids room didn't have any top sheets just a bottom. There were ants in the house, ants in my tea pot and ants on my bottle when i went to feed my baby. The place had a weird smell and the walls either needed to be cleaned or repainted. The decor was very pretty and the atmosphere was relaxed.
We never got lock box code upon arrival. I had to book hotel rooms the night we were suppose to check in. Owner was rude to me for asking for the code.I set in the driveway for 3 hours with my family. She then canceled my booking after knowing we had drove 16 hours to get there. I booked in November!!! I booked a house through another company because vrbo couldn't figure it out. The customer service person kept sending me homes on my phone that were not available. It was a joke. Vacas saved me with no hassle.
We had a great time with friends at this house. Mellow week of crabbing and fishing, and visiting Yachats, Newport, and Florence.
We will book again for next year.
This was the perfect location for us. We have family in Yachats, other family camping at Seaside and ourselves (4 adults & 1 child)- a real family reunion. The house was a great size for us and even held our extended family for a couple of meals. We came from Canada so it was nice to find this little gem. There were a few small issues with the house, but mostly it served us perfectly. We would definitely recommend The Dolphin House.
For those of you with pets, this unit has strict pet policies that we have not seen before when staying in pet friendly units. Just a little heads up that you might want to check on.
Could use a few repairs and master bed carpet cleaned. The master bath toilet handle fell off when flushed, when opening two windows, the screens fell completely out of the window and onto the ground outside, two rails from deck fencing are loose or laying on ground, and were asked to start a load of laundry before leaving, but no detergent. Hot water gets really hot, really fast so need to be cautious around children. The outside dryer vent is covered with lint which could be a fire hazard and needs to be cleaned. House has nice ocean themed decor, quiet neighborhood, and friendly neighbors.
This house is beautifully decorated with Beach decor. Very, nice and clean. We have enjoyed our stay more than we can say. The beds are a little hard for us, but we were able to sleep pretty good. I would highly recommend this house. We will rent again if in the area.
We were so grateful to stay in this wonderful home after being without power for 5 days during the ice storm. The house was cozy, comfortable, and very clean. My kids (ages 6 and 1) were very happy playing there. The house is a short walk to a quiet, lovely beach. We will definitely come back! Thank you!

Place Needs Some Serious Upkeep
The location of the rental was very pleasant. There is no ocean view from the property, but you can hear the waves. The beach is a short walk away, so that helps. The décor was nice, but there were quite a few things that really concerned me and made the stay unpleasant.
Safety:
Hot water temp is extremely hot. In residential settings, the hot water should be set to 120 degrees F. I measured 139.5 with my meat thermometer. Additionally, the place is not up to fire code. There are no smoke detectors in the bedrooms and the one in the hallway and living room are nowhere near the ceiling. NFP 70-1 requires smoke detectors to be placed at the highest point of elevation in the ceiling, or within 12 inches. In the unfortunate event of a fire, the detectors would not go off in an acceptable amount of time.
Maintenance:
Both toilets clogged very easily and the one in the hallway had to have special attention to make sure the water did not run continuously on it. Some of the fixtures, like the towel rack in the master bath are not attached to the wall correctly and will fall out if you actually try to use them. Also, the toaster in the kitchen was broken.
Comfort and Cleanliness:
The tub in the master bathroom was not cleaned, as was evident by the sand and pubic hair left all over the basin. Almost all the cook pans are bent, making is very difficult to cook with. The appliances and furniture are the cheapest of the cheep. The oven does not even have an oven timer. The dishwasher does not work with the packets provided, you need to use liquid detergent to get it to actually wash. The refrigerator does not cool properly, causing us to lose all our vegetables due to being frozen. The couch in the living room is broken, causing you to sink to the bottom. The two chairs provided look nice, but are incredibly uncomfortable to sit in.
Overall, the location is nice but that's about it. The house has a lot of potential, but the owners need to take some serious time to do some maintenance on essential things.
We loved the beachy touches everywhere in this cute cottage in Bayshore! The house was roomy and the beds were comfortable. It is a well appointed cottage and has everything anyone would need for their stay. I loved the proximity to the beach and the short walk to the Bayshore Beach Club. We relaxed on the deck out front and spent 3 glorious sun filled days enjoying the ocean, flying kites and playing games on the beautiful sunny beach. We will definitely be back and will recommend this sweet cottage to friends!
This was the perfect home for our vacation. It was clean and beachy, well stocked and inviting. We would love to come back every year. Thank you, Debby, for sharing your home with us!
