Giglio Island, spacious and cozy apartment in the medieval village of Castello

The apartment is located in the heart of the quiet medieval village of Giglio Castello (450 m asl) in which cars can not circulate. The apartment has two bedrooms, a large bathroom and a wide living room with kitchenette. From the living room, up a few steps, you enter the first bedroom where there are two single beds. From this you have access to the master bedroom. Two additional beds are available in the living room where there is a sofa bed. The living room also has access to a small balcony overlooking the quaint alleys of the village. The apartment has been recently renovated and due to its location is cool and comfortable. In winter the house is heatable with a pellet stove.

Perfect Castello flat
We loved staying at this well located, well appointed Castello flat. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable & functional. The only improvement we would recommend is Wi-Fi, though you are able to get a weak signal from Pizzeria Giglio next door if you sit outside. We had a car and easily found free parking spaces but discovered people on our ferry arrived nearly simultaneously by bus! Fabulous visit.

Cool, quiet in amazing alleyway location
Everything about this place was great. It's right in Giglio Castello which is pedestrian only - so you can park your car in the free car park just outside town walls, or an affordable slightly closer one which is about 7 euros for 24hrs. We were unsure whether to stay on one of Giglio's coastal towns or Castello, which is a 10 minute drive up top of hill - but this turned out to be the right option. A cool, quiet extremely charming place to go back in the evening after a day at the beach, more relaxing than the crowded touristy towns on the island. The city is ancient and stunning - with winding alleyways, twisting steps up to people's apartments, small restaurants and bars populating the tiny streets - this is amazing authentic experience. The host was communicative and helpful, really friendly and relaxed on arrival. Showed us parking and took us through the apartment. It is spotlessly clean, well furnished with an oven and gas stove. One very large double bed and small singles in the 2nd room. Amazing stylish shower with overhead and shower handle. It has a small balcony looking out on to the streets, right next to a great Pizzeria and round the corner from a charming bar next to a Church courtyard where you can look at the sea view. I'd really recommend this place if you want to get away from resort town feel - if you want to be near the beach 24/7 it obviously wont be ideal for you but it was definitely the nicest town on Giglio and a privilege to stay here!

Splendido e ampio appartamento
Abbiamo soggiornato 7 giorni in 4, 2 adulti e 2 bambini in questo comodissimo e spazioso appartamento. Situato in pieno centro storico dentro le mura di GIglio Castello (uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia). La casa è un mix di nuovo e antico con una cucina ampia e accessoriata, un bagno con una doccia da favola, un ampio salone in parquet con tavolo a 6 posti e divano letto, una stanzetta a 2 letti e poi la camera, con pavimento in cotto antico, con letto matrimoniale stile antico e con un veccho camino (non in funzione) !!! Casa curata con stile e con alto livello di pulizia, ben accessoriata: tutto in ottimo stato (lenzuola, asciugamani, detersivi a disposizione...). La casa si trova tra i vicoli del castello percui senza auto e con Pizzerie, ristoranti, bar, localini carini e negozietti proprio sotto al balcone!! ... La proprietaria, la sig. ra Brigitte è una signora gentilissima e cordiale e disponibile, sempre reperibile al telefono ed attenta ad ogni necessità. Quando torneremo al Giglio speriamo davvero di poter essere ancora suoi ospiti!! Tutto fantastico...ottima vacanza!!
