A wonderful stay
Lovely property set in the almost unknown jewel of France, wonderful wildlife, terrific scenery, empty roads, what's not to like? Try some of the local caves for superb wines, if you like riding try EquiLarzac, simply great. Lots to do, more to see. We discover more each year. Great communication with hosts so thanks to them as well.

The perfect choice.
A lovely, comfortable and ideally located place to stay. Close to the beaches and ideal walking / horse riding country. Clean, comfortable and well maintained we really didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. An abundance of wildlife surrounding the house make a delightful and interesting environment. Truly delightful.

Beautiful home with breathtaking surroundings
We had a fantastic week in the villa! There was everything we could possibly need an more! The house was in a perfect condition, and comfortably fitted our group of friends, with ample space for playing in the pool, chilling next to it, playing boules, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and sheltering from the summer storm one evening! The town itself is a short, scenic walk away, with a lovely boulangerie and bar in the town square, and we even caught sight of a mountain biking competition! There are endless activities to do in the surrounding areas, with loads of leaflets and suggestions in the house. We loved paddleboarding, beach trips and visiting various local rivers. It was honestly the perfect holiday home, couldn't recommend it enough!

Excellent villa in quiet French village
Second visit to this very family friendly villa. Set just outside the town of Soubes this is ideally situated to explore the region or just laze around the grounds. Swimming pool is a good size and depth for children (or adults) to play and swim. The villa itself is well presented with lots of space inside. Outside apart from the pool, we enjoyed several evening bbq's in the peaceful surroundings, several games of table tennis and the odd boule game. A car is a must as you are around an hour from the beaches of Le Grand Motte. Soubes itself has one pub/restaurant a short walk away but I recommend it for an evening meal with the locals! Lodeve, the nearest town is a 10 minute car drive but has an excellent supermarket for your holiday essentials as well as lovely restaurants. If you're looking for a family friendly, safe, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life villa then this will tick your boxes. Added to this the great response and ease of communication with the owners...we will return!

Spacious, clean, well equipped, good location.
We love this property, away from it all yet not isolated and surrounded by wildlife. Lots to see and do with Sete plage just an hour away but with beautiful scenery on the doorstep, if you're into horses try Domain de Gaillac just up the road. It's a great house with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday. Weather was good as well!

A great location near a old village with a wonderful shop and bar. Great views from the garden.
The property is well located an hours drive from Montpellier and a few miles off the motorway. The property itself is tired and in need of painting inside. The bathrooms too are in need of updating. We were initially disappointed that it was dated and items were broken- the parasol and a number of light bulbs. The house layout worked well and it was lovely and cool in the heat of the day. We loved the outside space: the pool, numerous seating areas, ping pong table and the views. The local village was delightful and we enjoyed walking from the villa in the surrounding countryside. A great base too to explore further afield. There is no shortage of things to do and we could have happily spent 2 weeks in the area. We would certainly return to the area. We felt that it was expensive for the dated interior of the property.

Tranquil setting in a comfortable villa
The villa is well equipped and in a secluded location. It is well placed to visit many of the local attractions that include medieval towns, gorges and local markets. The pool, boules pitch and table tennis table provide a welcome distraction from lazing on the sunbeds, reading, drinking local wines and eating cheese. The surrounding area, particularly to the north, contains some stunning scenery. We stayed for two weeks but this was not long enough to explore the area.

Excellent Villa in a Wonderful Setting
I had never heard of Soubès but was extremely pleased to discover this property which is located in beautiful countryside just outside the rather quaint village and quite close to Lodève, a nearby small market town. The region around Soubès/Lodève is unspoilt and largely agricultural, with many vinyards. A future visit must include a tasting or two! There are many charming family run restaurants in the area which offer exceptional value; indeed, it is difficult to understand how such good cuisine, leave alone wine, can be offered at such prices. The villa is well maintained and very comfortable. The pool is a particular bonus; at least it will be a little later in the year! I'm looking forward to a return visit later in the year, as and when the opportunity arises and would highly recommend it to others.

La Lavande, the perfect getaway!
La Lavande is the perfect getaway for those looking for peace, nature and French idyll. There are lots of places to visit nearby, especially for nature lovers. We enjoyed the perfectly planned gardens, with stunning views over the village Soubes, with plenty of space for social activities such as the large dining table and barbecue, swimming pool, petang, table tennis, as well as " rooms" for those looking for a quiet moment with a book with maybe a Ricard pastis. The house is very well designed and can accommodate many beds. We enjoyed our stay so much and our June week passed far too quickly.

A fantastic holiday!
This holiday was pure luxury. Could not have asked for a more relaxed and peaceful setting. The property has everything that you could possibly need from pots to half a dozen blow up lilos. The pool was kept crystal clean and the house is only a 15 minute walk from the centre of the village which allowed me to eat out and to buy the all important French baguettes for a great start to the morning. I would, without hesitation, recommend this to anybody looking to enjoy a weeks holiday in the South of France.

A superb villa in a wonderful part of France
This property was a real surprise, a wonderful little gem nestled in the hillside above a sleepy little village in the Herault. Fully equiped with everything we needed to make it a stay to remember, from the well equipped kitchen to the wonderfully comfortable sitting room to the cool welcoming pool with its array of loungers. A great jumping off point to explore this most secluded part of France with its amazing birdlife (Buzzards, Golden Aurioles and Vultures), great food and wonderfully friendly people, it's all there. Drive through the eye wateringly scenic gorges or laze the lunch hour (or two) away in a cafe and I guarantee that you will want to come back. Fully recommend to anyone

A pleasant villa in a wonderful setting
The position of this property, on the hillside above - and overlooking - Soubes village, is really wonderful. To complement the elevated position, the garden is a lovely place to be, with mature plants, a variety of seating areas (a large dining table under the trees, a small cast iron table by the pool, a stone table on the edge of the garden, overlooking the village, and another table on a balcony/terrace outside the living room with panoramic mountain views), as well as the good-sized pool, table tennis table and petanque court. It would be very relaxing to spend your entire stay here, serenaded constantly by the insects, but the area is too good for that. There is so much to see and do - walking, cycling, villages, hills, gorges, coast, Montpellier, Millau, etc. - that most people could happily settle here for several months. The house itself is a clean, light, decent space, well stocked with everything you could need, whatever the weather (which, for our fortnight stay, was wall-to-wall sunshine - a couple of afternoon storms aside). The walk into the village of Soubes is a pleasant 15-20 minutes, much of it alongside the river. (We enjoyed the walk in with our daughters - aged 6 and 8 - to fetch bread for breakfast each morning.) The village itself is attractive, with a well-stocked small shop and good cafe-restaurant. All in all, we would highly recommend this property. We generally try to stay somewhere different each year but are seriously considering a return visit to La Lavande.
