After completing a full renovation on the 2nd floor of the Jones Building, we are excited to offer you 4 industrial style suites in Metropolis, IL. Constructed in 1908, the Jones building was a former office complex. The old stairs have seen a lot of traffic leading to everything from a dentist office, insurance agency and a 3rd generation law firm. Just to name a few. This space has been revitalized and allowed to thrive again. “The Jones” is ready to welcome you to the home of Superman!

Clean and quiet

Very clean, quiet apartment downtown. Walking distance to the Superman statue and museum, as well as restaurants. There’s also a nice state park nearby.

Perfect Spot!

Love this little town!

My husband and I were passing thru this town on the way to see family and we love staying here. So close to the Superman statue and the best mexican restuarant in the square. We recommend staying at this spot bc of the history and the privacy of the property.

Great hosts

Enjoyed the Superman accents in the building and the suite. It's just across the square from the Superman statue. Very clean and we enjoyed the full kitchen - just what we needed. We were there for the 2024 eclipse, and we appreciated the sun/moon/eclipse-themed snacks the hosts left for us. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stay here again.

Too many stairs

I loved the convenience of the location.. however the rickety stairs leading up to our room was almost more than I could handle…. Especially when bringing in suitcases and groceries for several days.

Last minute overnights!

We love to go off to just anywhere, but as homebodies we prefer small towns. Metropolis is definitively small and charming! The Jones Building is great for travelers who appreciate history. Old spaces being given a new life are where we prefer staying. It's in a great location, too, right there in Superman Square! The suite was very spacious and accommodating and clean. Communication with our host was easy. I can see us staying there again, and we probably will!

Scuba Weekend/Metropolis as a Bonus

My son and I were there for his open water scuba certification at Mermet Springs. The Jones Building (Lois Suite) was perfect for our home base. I would just caution anyone who can't climb stairs (there are a lot of them) to consider a different option. This wasn't a big deal for us, just a head's up. The suite was clean, cool and the bed was comfy. We were also pleased with the location which was right smack downtown. We did the touristy things and walked around the neighborhood (even caught an outdoor concert). The hosts did a nice job of communicating and we enjoyed the popcorn and snacks they left out. We would definitely stay here again.

QUICK ROUTE DIVERSION

Normally, we stay in Paducah when we are going to the Smokies. This time we decided to go a little out of our way and stay in Metropolis. We are very happy we did. The town was super cute. Our host was accommodating. My sister decided to go with us last minute, at first we thought she was going to stay with in the apartment, I contacted Joshua and he was helpful even though I hated to bother him about it. We have plans of purchasing a memorial stone and the whole family wants to stay at the Jones Building when we do our memorial.

Nice apartment in Metropolis

Great place to stay in downtown Metropolis. Across the street from Superman. Close to Paducah, just a short drive across the river.

Nice, clean, and easy

A great place to stay while in Metropolis, IL. It lacked some of the “nice things” like there was a coffee pot and filters, but no coffee. But that’s minor stuff. Fortunately there’s a coffee shop just down the street. I would stay again.

Great apartment. Cute town. We enjoyed walking down market street visiting the Superman Statue, Sissy's Sweet Shop and hiking Heron Pond. Our apartment was well appointed and the King size bed was dreamy! Thank you!

Incredible rental. Brand new with all the necessary amities. Owner was super responsive.

The two room suite was perfect for our needs. It allowed one person to sleep and the other to be up and doing things. The location was perfect for our activities in Paducah, KY. Local infrastructure provided for all of our needs. We will be back!
