We love this lovely cabin, perfect for our family of 4! Our 3rd stay and happily continue coming back! The owner is extremely responsive and helpful. The cabin was clean and just as expected. Lake front, kayaks and a canoe. We miss it already!
Cherrise was pleasure to deal with. The views were amazing, kayaking on water like glass. After 34 years together my husband and I were totally alone and had we had a wonderful time. Thanks for the memories.Jeannie's homemade carrot cake jam was excellent!
Cabin was very clean & cozy! Private quiet & peaceful ! Everything we needed was there right down to the beach towels ! I can see this being a yearly adventure! I highly recommend this rental !
We stayed for 5 days the previous year and made it a whole week this time around. We love the seclusion and just getting back to roots of being a human and not a robot. It’s a beautiful place that is fun and relaxing for both mind, body and soul. The owner is also super nice and a great communicator. I would highly recommend this rental. You’ll never forget it.
We were in the area for a wedding, and everything was perfect! Beautiful location, VERY secluded! Cherisse was great, very helpful and informative! Pay attention to her info and directions, you will be fine. Lots of steps, if that’s an issue for you! And no cell phone service, WI-FI, but that was ok! Lots to do if you want to go exploring too! We had a wonderful, relaxing time! Thank you!

Fantastic Weekend!
My husband and I came to celebrate our 25th anniversary. While we have been to several places in the area, this was our first time at Nantahala Lake. We were not disappointed! The house was perfect- clean, beautifully decorated and just the right size! We loved being out on the lake in the kayaks- it was so peaceful and the views were fantastic! We loved it so much we are hoping to go back with our sons in the fall and enjoy it some more! We had great communication with the owner and everything was even better than promised. We could not have had a better experience!
The description bio says it all. The owner was very easy to contact. If off-grid with modern house amenities is what you are looking for this is your stop.
Aside from the noted access to the house and the lake just be aware of the road access. To some it could be a challange but to others it is just the right amount of adventure and excitment. Recommend AWD or 4W.
The kayaks and canoe was just enough for our short 3 day stay to explore the quiet cove and also the main lake on a calm moring with little weekday boat traffic. Id recommend a boat rental if you want to see the whole lake.
One of the cleanest and clearest lakes Ive ever been on.
Not sure if we were just lucky but I was boggled by the absolute absence of nuance bugs.
Quite time with the family disconnected from a world full of distractions was a needed change of pace. My 9yr old never wanted an electronic during our stay with all we had to keep us busy. The Foosball table provided intense competion to close out our evenings.
The night sky is unparalleled if thats what you are interested in. Not a speck of light pollution will be seen here.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Not recommended at all
I regret to say that our experience at this cabin was far from pleasant, despite its great location and accurate listing photos. The primary issue was with the host, whose behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply unsettling.
The trouble began when the host falsely accused us of having more guests than agreed upon, even though we had clearly disclosed five people in the contract, which she accepted. We encountered a car issue on the last night, which required someone to stay behind to ensure our safety, as we were in the middle of the mountains with no cellphone coverage and children in tow. This seemed like a reasonable decision, given the circumstances.
However, the host responded by calling and screaming at my family, harassing them to the point of fear. She even yelled at my daughter, threatening to call the police if I did not answer her call immediately, despite the fact that I was on the lake and unable to respond at that moment. Her hostile communication made it impossible to resolve the situation calmly or effectively.
Furthermore, the host unjustly withheld our $500 security deposit, citing excessive towel use and the condition of the floor, neither of which could possibly justify such a steep charge. To add insult to injury, she accused us of stealing a ceramic bear, which was actually broken in an accident and fully disclosed to her.
While the host may have been upset about the lack of immediate communication regarding our car emergency, this in no

A bit Disappointing
Overall we enjoyed our time away.
Here are the pro's n con's from our experience
Pro's:
The kayaks were a nice touch and we used them a lot to go on the lake and explore the island nearby.
The fireplace was nice and cozy.
No phone and Internet reception was nice for a change
Con's
Our jacuzzi was not working and was not able to
be fixed before we left.
The house was not secluded as precived. It actually very close to two houses on both sides(they were both empty at the time so it was fine)
The view was not of the lake but directly accross. ( gorgeous views when you kayak out a bit)
Based on previous reviews it stated that the cabin is better and cleaner than expected. We found that to be not true. We stay at cabins frequently and it could have been cleaner. There was a cleaning rag on the stairs of the entrance.
Overall we had a great time and its a fair price. We were a bit disappointed esp the jacuzzi not working.

FAMILY VACATION
Our first time heading to the mountains for family vacation. So, I will be honest to those seeking a great vacation without being disappointed. First, the view was AWESOME just traveling to this destination. You see God's beautiful creation. We had a terrific time enjoying the kayak/canoe/hot tub at the cabin. The fact that there was no cell phone service or internet connection providing real quality family time. The cabin did have almost everything we needed and the owner called us once we arrived and upon us leaving. Our stay was as comfortable as a normal hotel stay except the first night the fire alarm kept beeping due to low batteries(replace the next day but got little sleep). We only needed the cabin for breakfast, dinner and sleep. We brought our own board games but the cabin did have some. Direct TV is a an added feature. We watch the FIFA US Women Semi Soccer game(NOW the world Champ OUTSTANDING). During the day, our family enjoyed NOC which provided two days of fun filled white water rafting, zip lining and a challenging rope obstacle course. We also hiked several trails (except for a few ticks) the views were fantastic. As my husband and I are retired Marines, I would recommend this area for romantic getaway and those family seeking adventure and quality family time. However, I do not recommend this cabin. if you want to be close to a main highway. It took us around 1 hour to get to the main highway (half of that time was spent driving down this dangerous narrow, long, curvy, gravel road). If you are not a good driver, have difficulty seeing or afraid of narrow roads this cabin is not for you. This was no fun getting to the main roads everyday. Please be very carefully or you may find yourself rolling down the mountain as there is no rails. We meet two vehicles and it was difficult trying to keep both vehicles on the road. There was some roadwork everyday on Little Choga Road which added around15 minutes to our travel. The cabin is on a cove not a pretty lake view but we did canoe to other areas to get a better view (I recommend you eat your spinach for kayaking or conoe). While the canoe is near the dock, the kayaks are under the cabin which is an inconvenience especially trying to haul it back to the cabin. While the cabin is not as secluded, the neighbors were very friendly. Recommend this cabin for some but not those with disabilities, However, I do recommend the area. It is great for adventurous tourists.
We had a great time! The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was a little chilly last week, so it was wonderful to have the gas fireplace! It is located in a quiet secure neighborhood, on a very winding gravel road! Cherisse is a great host!
The Great Lake Escape INDEED!!!. Lovely cabin, beautiful surroundings, peaceful and relaxing. The mist off the lake in the mornings while sitting on the dock with my coffee was my favorite part. Cherrisse was great with communications, checking to see if we made it. She left great directions. We stopped at a Farmers Market in Ooltewah and the well stocked Ingles in Andrews before going to the cabin. The cabin was very clean, cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. We are very thankful for being able to share this sweet retreat. Thank you.
We had the best time at this cabin. If your looking for a place to unplug and unwind this is your place! The water was beautiful, the fishing was great. Great memories were made this weekend. We have already discussed booking again.
Wonderful Cabin - Isolated Location - No Water View
The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. With the trees and dense growth, we could not see the water - and it was quite a distance downhill to the dock. We had a real issue getting our luggage and groceries to the cabin from the car - 30 steps were too much for 70+ adults. The owner was very thoughtful and had lots of instructional notes but we just would not be able to rent again with the steps and isolation.
