Perfect for couples, friends or families who just want to take a break from the hustle & bustle and enjoy what nature really has to offer. Easy road access near all the fun, exploration and outdoor activities including whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking and lake swimming!

The Place:
A true home-away from home. Recently upgraded with a modern touch, this cabin is simple, yet offers plenty of new amenities to ensure the most enjoyable and comfortable stay. Amenities include: full kitchen, AC/heat, wood burning stove (if you really want to turn up the heat!), BBQ grill, WiFi, full motion swivel smart TV for streaming movies or listening to music, washer & dryer, rain shower head and much more! The bedroom is spacious with ample closet space and a balcony for maximum relaxation. Feeling creative? Get inspired sitting at the writer's nook overlooking the seasonal creek and tree swing through the large bay window. Ever wanted your own tree house? Have fun climbing or hanging around the property's tree house during the day or relish in evening stargazing under the planetarium style night sky. The home is a hop, skip and jump away (1 mile) to access Lake Isabella, about 8 minutes to Kernville and the Kern River, 15 minutes to Alta Sierra and 60 minutes to the "Trail of 100 Giants".

Cozy retreat

Stayed here for a weekend and loved it! Its quiet and the Location is good. This cottage was clean and has all the amenities needed. Will love to come back!

Excellent property with all you need close by

Very nice unit with awesome AC, privacy and well equipped form your needs- grill, patio, cookware, microwave, cable tv and secluded with a nice little wood tower in the front yard as well. We loved it!

Best Host Ever!!

We had a last minute trip to Wofford Heights to visit my Mom. Sent a message to Johnny late in the afternoon, and he promptly responded and was able to book us into the cabin. We have stayed here several times and love staying here.

Perfect get away

This location was perfect. Recommendations of the host were awesome. The river was only 7 minutes away. Everything was great. Felt like home, had everything to make your stay comfortable. Definitely will be going back. John was very helpful and responded quickly. All around this was a great place great experience.

Perfect Cabin, Perfect Location

This is our second time at this cabin (and 3rd working with Johnny) and it was perfect, as usual. My husband & I traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to visit his elderly mother who lives quite close to this cabin. It is always clean and well stocked, but when we arrived during a very cold snap, the heat had been turned on & it was nice & cozy, a very nice “Welcome” after a long drive. It also has always had everything we need, including coffee for the morning! We also had to make a change to our reservation at the last minute, and we were worried it might be a problem. But Johnny handled it kindly and quickly for us, no problem at all. We intentionally look for properties run by Johnny and stay at them whenever we can, knowing his properties will always be clean, well cared for and exceptionally comfortable, and that Johnny is a wonderfully accommodating host. Thank you once again, Johnny!

Great weekend getaway

We had a quick visit to the cabin for some local hiking. The place is updated, spacious and clean! It’s less than 10 min to Kernville, where there are a lot of restaurants and shops. We took a lot of recommendations from the host and they were all good!

One of our favorite vacation rentals

This was a totally charming place for our weekend trip to Lake Isabella and Sequoia National Forest! A well-appointed kitchen, a cute patio to eat on, a treehouse and grill (which we sadly didn't get to use, but it was nice to know they were there), and a great couch and tv for relaxing. Nice furnishings, and an easy hop to Kernville for supplies and hikes.

Quaint Getaway

We went to take a trip down memory lane and were so pleased to find this quaint little cabin to stay in. It was so homey and clean. It was super quiet too! We did not want for amenities. Cabin had on demand hot water, temperature control and a well stocked kitchen.

Relaxing stay, we'll be back.

We enjoyed staying at this home. It was tucked away in perfect location between lake Isabella and kernville . There are two windows that require curtains for privacy and the Queen mattress wasn't that comfortable. The rest of the home has been remodeled and it' has a rustic modern feel. My husband and I were impressed with all the woodwork throughout the home. I especially liked being able to bring my pets. Thanks for letting us stay.

Snow trip

Great property to stay if visiting alta sierra ski resort (just know that you need to go right when there is fresh snow, or they may close!). Super helpful, friendly and fair host. Refunded us one night when our snow plans got ruined and the road was closed to the giant sequoias. John was very helpful to our family :-) Bed was not my fav. Very soft mattress and I need a firmer mattress. But overall very nice place and amenities :-)

Unique and Memorable

Great stay for the price. There were a couple of minor things that can be improved, but both that would have impacted our decision to stay. Really clean property. My daughter stated,”This place has everything you need.” If we come back to Lake Isabella we’ll see if the unit is available again. Thanks Johnny!

Perfect Cabin for two...or more.

Cute cabin that is much bigger inside then it looks from the outside. Nice neighbors, and quiet neighborhood. The cabin met all our needs and made our stay very comfortable. The addition of blinds or curtains on the large living room and kitchen windows would make sleeping in the living room more comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch and master bedroom balcony....very peaceful.
