The Casita at La Posada de Taos is your little getaway two blocks away from Taos Plaza. A one bedroom with single pull out couch sleeps 2 adults and 1 child in elegant comfort. Please note that our beautiful fireplaces are non- functional.Enjoy the private and enclosed patio. La Posada de Taos offers many unique spaces available for larger parties, from a one room boutique hotel room to a 3 bedroom historic and luxurious home. Lush shared courtyards are also yours to use just steps away from your front porch. Wifi, complimentary coffee and tea.

This Casita is a newly renovated historic adobe and just a two block stroll to downtown Taos. Walk to restaurants, museums and art galleries or stay in and enjoy a meal and wine on the private patio or shared courtyard at La Posada de Taos.

La Posada de Taos hosts several unique spaces to rent for larger groups up to 25 guests. Please ask how we can host your family or group for your next gathering.

Rooms are decorated in a romantic southwestern style. The decor in the home compliments the Southwest exterior.

Wood beam ceilings, hand-carved furniture, local and national art and artifacts complete the look in this warm and friendly atmosphere of casual elegance.

The house is a one bedroom and has a new king size memory-foam mattress, a closet, dresser and television with cable. There is a full bath with sink and jacuzzi corner tub, cozy living room, newly refinished wooden floors, Navajo rugs and a sofa that pulls out to sleep one more.


The private patio has seating for two to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktails.

La Posada de Taos maintains a lush courtyard that you are welcome to share during your stay. Enjoy your time in the landscaped area just a few steps away from your private retreat.

Great Stay

Such a cute place and more room and storage than expected. It was a quick walk into town for shopping and food and an easy drive up to the mountains to ski. Enjoyed the extra touch of having coffee and a few snacks for us. We will definitely stay again when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the patio next time.

Perfect little casita!

The casita was the perfect size and location for exploring Taos getting some laps in at the Ski Valley! The host provided detailed instructions on parking and getting the key from the lockbox- couldn’t have been more seamless. Pro tip- take the parking spot next to the casita so other cars wont pull in late at night!

Taos Casita Retreat

The property had nicely done Southwest character and was very clean. It was conveniently located two blocks from the plaza and we did lots of walking.The refrigerator was great for keeping beverages and snacks in and the coffee tasted great too!Bathtub was nice for soaking in as I did get sore from so much walking !

Great little place for your Taos visit

We stayed in the Casita unit on this property. Cozy place for a couple to hang out for a few days. Easy walking distance to the downtown Plaza area, restaurants, and other attractions in the heart of Taos. Didn’t have any communication with the property mgr, but didn’t need to. The Jacuzzi unit didn’t work, but everything else onsite was just as described. Very enjoyable stay.

Charming Casita

My Sister and I stayed three nights and enjoyed walking to convenient shopping, restaurants, etc. and love ties in general. I would suggest anyone walking into town should cut through the parking lot of the school behind the Casita. I would suggest anyone walking into town should cut through the parking lot behind the Casita walking down Juanita Lane is a little daunting especially at night. The patio was lovely, but we weren’t able to use it as much as we thought plan to use because there was so much to do. So next time we’re going to plan an extra day just to use the patio and outside space. Next time we will plan to spend a day just in the outdoor space. For the chillier nights, it would be wonderful if there was a fire pit on the patio. Thanks for a great day.

We had to leave due to a health issue. The casita was very comfortable with lots of storage in the bathroom and luggage racks in the bedroom. Only complaint….flat pillows. The drive into the casita is very tight and if parking adjacent to it recommend pulling your mirrors in. Owner Left a nice list of restaurants (we liked the Farmhouse (open 9 to 3). And The Trading Post Market in El Prada that is always open. Many restaurants are closed Monday-Wednesday.

Great little place!

This was definitely one of the best parts of our stay in Taos. It's small, but the bedroom is large with plenty of room for our stuff. Loved the colorful decor! And the private patio, as well as the lovely common area. Hope we get to go back! Great place toweddiannanniversary!

La Casa was just what I was looking for. It was peaceful and quiet but still I could walk to The Plaza in less than 10 minutes. The furnishings were comfortable and really had that New Mexican charm. I highly recommend La Posada de Taos

Why they chose this property

La Posada de Taos has taken the time and crafted this exquisite space particularly for the vacation guest. We are situated just behind the Taos Plaza, a few minute walk, and while we are close to everything downtown Taos, also private, quiet and far away from distractions. Arts and antiques adorn the home and bring a unique Taos flavor to the Historic home and Inn. The history of the home is deep and rooted with Bert Phillips, a founding member of the Taos Society of Artists. He came with Ernest Blumenscheim in 1898 when their wagon broke down in Taos, New Mexico and they decided to stay and paint. Bert Phillips built La Posada de Taos for his daughter as a wedding present and it is now over 100 years old.

Enjoy the large courtyards and many private patios around the property. Walk into town for a meal or enjoy the grounds at La Posada de Taos.
