We loved the house near the water. We had an Eagle just perched on the stones outside and lots of ducks and sea birds, one great heron. It was a quick drive to Juneau. The host gave excellent recommendations for hikes, dining, etc.
I would stay there again.
The rental had everything we needed, a stunning view (and eagle watching every morning!), fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and linens and super responsive hosts. We loved it so much that we are already planning our next trip back to Juneau!
Our stay at the Mountain 'N Shores Chalet was amazing! The view of Gastineau Channel is constantly changing during high and low tides. We enjoyed the pair of eagles that meet each day during low tide and all of the other wild life on a daily basis. Watching the cruise ship come and go is also enjoyable to observe.
Adam and Samantha are awesome hosts; communication was always open and responsive.
The location is perfect, private, and very quiet. We can't say enough positives about our stay. This vacation will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We had an amazing time staying at Mountain N' Shores Chalet. We had so much fun just simply watching out the windows facing Juneau downtown area. Such a fun place and plenty of room.
I can’t say enough about the lovely home with the most beautiful views ever. Eagles were on the beach right outside the huge picture windows. Short distance to downtown Juneau (walk along the water, shopping /delicious food from local restaurants) and other points of interest like Mendenhall Glacier and marina for whale watching. The host was extremely responsive and the house was so welcoming with welcome basket of goodies, slippers and robes, available just like a 5-star hotel. That being said, I would pick this amazing home over a 5-star hotel anytime!! Our stay was short but we hope to be back soon and will definitely want to stay in this special spot right on the water! Thank you!
This VRBO is amazing! We had a great time in Juneau- and also enjoyed watching the cruise ships in and out, and sitting by the bonfire taking it all in! You won’t regret this one!
We stayed for just over a week and couldn't have asked for a better location or accommodation. The cabin was perfectly maintained with comfortable and tasteful Alaskan-themed decor, and the massive view from the front 2-story window wall across Gastineau channel is unbeatable and the perfect spot to watch cruise ships come into port.
The cabin is just 5 minutes' drive away from the heart of downtown and super easy access to shopping and tourist attractions, and Samantha (host) was super-responsive and helpful when we had questions.
As others have noted, there are quite a few stairs from the street level down to the waterfront cabin so could be an issue for folks with mobility challenges; that said, my elderly mom who has some mobility limitations was able to do the stairs slowly and said the tradeoff for the stunning views and cabin ambience was worth it and she'd love to return.
A+ experience, highly recommended.
We had such an amazing time at this beautiful house in Juneau! The house was across the channel from the cruise ship dock and we got to watch the constant coming and going of those massive boats. The panoramic views of Mt Robert’s and Mt Juneau enticed me to hike both of them one out trip. Amazing views aside, the house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The beds and linens were comfortable and the kids enjoyed the access to the water for shell and sea glass hunting. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Our stay at the Mountain N' Shores Chalet was lovely. It truly is a "Mountain N' Shores" experience. The house sits on the shore of the channel and the view of the water and mountains from the living room is so beautiful. Sitting out on the deck on sunny afternoons was also a treat. The house had everything we needed and I would definetly stay here again on another visit to Juneau. One thing to note is there are quite a few stairs from the road down to the house. It was fine for our family but just something to be aware of. A great stay overall!
We had an amazing time in Juneau and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house is wonderful, fully stocked, clean and updated. The welcome basket with a few snacks saved the day when our flight got in late. The views are unbelievable and the owners have thought of everything. Plenty of towels, dishwasher pods, linens - just wonderful.
We were in town for a wedding, so we were there for a full week. Didn't have any problems with the house, it was perfect. We had other relatives in town that were extremely jealous of where we were staying. Both of the houses they rented were of no comparison to ours.
If we ever go back to Juneau, I wouldn't stay any where else. My only caution is the stairs getting down to the house are steep. If you are traveling with an older person that doesn't tolerate stairs well, you need to take that in to consideration. The stairs didn't bother us at all and they are worth it for the view.
This property has a stunning view. It sits on the Gastineau Channel with breathtaking views of Juneau, Mt. Roberts, the cruise ships, and the comings and goings of the seaplanes.
We enjoyed watching the eagles come and go as well as the salmon jumping in the channel. We had a delightful stay and enjoyed staying away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Juneau yet being close enough to pop over whenever we wanted.
There are steps getting down to the property which could be problematic for some. The listing mentions street parking but not the stairs. We found the property owners to be very responsive.
We would stay again on our next visit.
This chalet is located on the beach across Gastineau channel from Juneau. It has beautiful views of Mt. Juneau, cruise ships, float planes, salmon jumping, and the changing tides. It was a great place for a family get together, and making memories for the future. We had 4 grandchildren there, the youngest was 8, and they are already talking about going back. Loved the place.
Property was well kept, nicely appointed, and the owners were easy to reach and responded very quickly. We loved sitting out on the deck and enjoying the view. Thanks for letting my family stay here; we definitely made some memories.
This property is on the shoreline with a great view of Juneau across the channel. It was a great location for four adults and four kids. All the rooms were perfect for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend this home, that felt like staying in a mountain cabin, for any family.
Clean and updated with a phenomenal view of downtown Juneau and 5 minutes away from everything you need. Cant ask for more, it was a great rental unit would rent it again.
Beautiful views of downtown Juneau from this charming waterfront mountain home. It was perfect for our group and very comfortable with plenty of space to spread out in the house. The owner was communicative and helpful with information about the area. We would definitely book it again! If I were bringing my elderly parents, I would put them at a different house as the stairway down to the house would be difficult for them. It was no problem for us.
2 Families in Juneau for Ironman Alaska. Absolutely pristine cabin with every detail covered. Gorgeous view of downtown Juneau and cruise ships. To top it all off Hosts we’re extremely responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend!!!
The house is so beautiful and well maintained. It’s so quiet but also very convenient to restaurants and other sites/outings. It sits at water level and perfect for bird watching. Owners are very responsive with the smallest details and the house is well stocked with spices and items needed for cooking up your fresh catch after fishing. We appreciate these small things when flying in for our vacation stay.
Six of us went do myself and now husband could get married on a glacier and halibut fish in Alaska. Alaska has always been on our bucket list. So we decided for an epic Alaska adventure. Our Chalet was perfect. It accommodated all of us super comfortably. It is rustic but with absolute elegance. The large wall of windows was extraordinary. The view was breathtaking. The fire pit was a bonus. We only wish our stay was longer. The bowl of goodies and flowers when we got there was a complete surprise and very appreciated it. Yes we have read about the stairs and I would stay there again even with those stairs. The stairs are metal so no slippery falls. Don’t let any of the stair comments scare you from this piece of Heaven. My mom who is 80 had no issues with them. This piece of Heaven is probably ced incredible. We will be back not sure when but we will see if this slice of Heaven is available. 5 STAR from all of us. The only thing I can come up with is it would have been fun to meet the owners to thank them in person.
