This one-of-a-kind log home is surrounded by breathtaking views. It sits on 30 private acres at the foot of Mt. Princeton – one of Colorado’s 14ers. The architecture is divine with vaulted ceilings and twin lofts on opposing sides of the main room. The south-facing sunroom is a great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning while watching for wildlife. If you like to cook or need to cook for a large group of people you’re going to LOVE our kitchen: Wolf stove and range with two convection ovens, 8 burners, a breakfast island, dining area and a huge grill on the expansive deck where we have more dining seating and views overlooking the city of Buena Vista and accompanying mountain range. The master bathroom has a claw foot tub if you feel like a soak, while the other main bathroom is spa-style with a huge multi-jet shower. The guest house includes another spa-style bathroom, a fully loaded game room and an expansive bedroom. This separate structure is included in your rental. The game room has a poker table, pool table, Bubble Hockey, dart board, play-station and big screen TV. You can sleep 6 couples (two of our couches are convertible to full-sized beds) – each bed or couch is in its own private living quarters. The house is a 5-minute drive from Mt. Princeton Hot Spring Resort. It’s also a half hour or less to a dozen amazing hikes including the Collegiate Peaks (all three of them 14ers that surround the property). Buena Vista is the world capitol of Rafting and although this property is secluded and private it only takes 15 minutes to drive to town. Bird watching, gem hunting, mountain biking, 4-wheeling, star gazing – really anything you could ask for in a mountain getaway!

We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you would need and the property is beautiful! All of the beds were comfortable and it made for a very wonderful weekend away with a group of girlfriends! Would definitely recommend this house!
Absolutely stunning log cabin and host was very accommodating and responsive. Definitely recommend this VRBO for a group looking to relax and enjoy the space.
This was an outstanding property for our weekend getaway. The accommodations were excellent, the location was great, and George was great at communications.
Wonderful home and location for enjoying Buena Vista and the surrounding area. Can't wait to come back for hopefully longer than 3 days. Would stay here again without question.
It was the perfect place for our trip and even though we had activities planned in the area, we were very tempted to spend all of our time at the house. Sitting on the deck enjoying the morning sun, it was tough to want to leave! Will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises!
This cabin is secluded, but only a short drive to town. Very clean with plenty of room for the entire family. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the deck to take in the view. Kids loved the game room. Will definitely stay here again for our next visit.
I must first say that the pictures don’t do this property justice. The views of the mountains are incredible to wake up to. The cabin was super clean and had all of the amenities that you could think of like shampoo and conditioner in the showers to spices in the kitchen. There is a huge stove and grill to cook on. Beds are super comfy. It was so perfect for our family. I hope to visit again.
This house is very comfortable and spacious with lots of sleeping accommodations and a very well-equipped kitchen. The host had the log stove set up for a fire as soon as we arrived. One note, the upper bedrooms in the main house are open to the rest of the house and to skylights so you might want to bring an eye mask if you're sensitive to light and be aware that the partyers or late-night talkers in your group might need to be assigned to the very nice guest house. The host was very responsive to a couple of small issues.
My family and I stayed here over Christmas and had a wonderful time. Not only was the property, house and view incredible our host George went above and beyond. The house was decorated for the holidays and extremely well appointed with bedding and other supplies. George even mailed back an item we left. Overall a great experience!
My bridesmaids and I stayed at this cabin in preparation for my wedding morning. The cabin is what I would describe as secluded (from town) and there are other cabins and properties in the area. The cabin was absolutely spotless, amazing accommodations, exactly as described, and the property manager, George, was extremely helpful and kind! A great stay and I will definitely be planning another stay!
This gorgeous log home is nestled in the trees, at the foot of the Collegiate Peaks and was perfect for our family of three families! My son-in-law especially enjoyed cooking on the high end range that had eight burners, a grill, 2 ovens and a shelf with a warming light to plate food and keep it warm. With the extra space over the garage everyone had a great time from watching movies to playing poker. At the foot of the Collegiate Peaks, the views are awesome!! George was very easy to communicate with and allowed us to check in early. It also has a large deck with a table and grill, but we were there in December so we didn’t spend any time on the deck. We did however spend time in the sunroom (that was just off the living room) which had beautiful views and was great for watching wildlife. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings. You won’t be disappointed!
This home had an amazing kitchen and grill and had a variety of rooms - even a soaking tub! My sister in law was a bit scared because they arrived at night and the lights in the home were a bit dim at night giving it an eriee feel, but overall, it was amazing!
George's home is spectacular and it's even better in person! This is the place if you're looking for a well-appointed log home to enjoy the area's beauty and can accommodate a large group. The wood stove in the living room was ideal for gathering together on winter days and a large round kitchen table was perfect for family meals. Everything you need is thoughtfully provided and George is a great host, and easy to communicate with. Wonderful memories were made!
Our group got to stay at this beautiful house for 4 nights. The host was responsive, accommodating, and incredibly helpful as we navigated some unexpected bumps in the road. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location or a more caring host. I highly recommend reaching out directly to the owner if you need help or have questions - he is more than willing to ensure you have the most excellent stay imaginable.
George's house was peaceful and had such positive energy. We all thought it was magical. It had everything we needed and wanted-well okay, a hot tub would have been nice! The location was far enough away from town to feel like we were really 'out there' and close enough to feel convenient. Loved the big kitchen table, plethora of game options and sun room!! Thank you!
Awesome! Host was gracious and worked with us to ensure everything went well. There was an issue, but the host worked with us to achieve a workable solution. We would definitely stay again, and are in fact trying to figure out a plan to return next year.
The home was great, the guest house was a major plus, the scenery and views are spectacular. We loved the large deck - a gathering place first thing in the morning and the last gathering for the night.
Family Stay for our daughter’s wedding in Buena Vista
Wow!! We were so amazed at this gorgeous mountain home and property-absolutely beautiful and stunning!! George is so attentive and always replied very quickly. He is a gracious host! We feel so fortunate that we were able to stay at his home. We sat up late and watched the stars from the deck. Is it possible that they twinkled even more from this home?? YES-they truly did. And that kitchen-wish we had more time to actually use that amazing stove. Everything in this house is perfect. The beautiful bedrooms, loft, huge guest room, awesome bathrooms that I wish were in my own home. Staying here made this Buena Vista wedding weekend even more magical. We can’t say enough good things about our stay here!! Thank you George:) Hoping we can come back again some day!

I'm a Colorado native having lived and worked most of my life in and around the Denver area. My goal was always to own a piece of Colorado mountain land and I finally achieved it when I bought this place.
Why they chose this property
When you stay here, you'll know. They don't call this area Buena Vista for nothing. Literally every direction you look is a breathtaking view - and I'm not just throwing that term around lightly. Location is everything and this house is in a perfect spot. Far enough from civilization where you can experience TRUE quiet and untamed nature - yet close enough to town where it's no biggie when you realize you're out of garlic. I also LOVE to hike and bike. It's one of the main reasons I live in Colorado - and this spot is prime for both. Aside from the location the house itself is pretty special. Log homes are an experience in-and-of themselves. The texture provides a kind of calming effect that's hard to describe - or maybe it's because it's ALL wood - not synthetic building materials... you really have to experience it for yourself.
