The property and surrounding area are GEMS. The view from the cabin is outstanding and so are the stars on clear nights. Issues we had: almost all day and all night the kennel down the street had a lot of barking dogs, and ruined the peacefulness that could have been the porch. The AC units would throw error codes, and we'd follow instructions, but then they wouldn't turn back on or just stopped the AC- which made the cabin very hot. I'm glad we stayed in March, otherwise it would have been boiling inside the cabin. The bedskirt on the bed upstairs was very stained and needs washed. The cabin needed dusted pretty badly. The railing of part of the porch near the fire pit area is very loose and needs repaired before someone gets hurt. Overall, communication with the host was phenomenal and it was a very well stocked cabin. We would stay again. There are a few improvements that could be made.
This was the second time the wife and I came to Ridge Runners for a weekend getaway. We love the property and we love the area. Cynthia is a wonderful host, very responsive and the property is exactly as advertised. It’s a quaint, quiet, out of the way place to unwind and relax. 5-stars all the way around and we will be back again!
Absolutely beautiful property and cabin for a peaceful getaway with lots of trails and beauty everywhere. Cabin is well supplied and Cynthia was very responsive.
The property was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. It was very peaceful, no outside noise. The night sky is absolutely incredible and we cant wait to come back! Thank you!
This was our 7 Thanksgiving at Ridge Runners Cabin. We love the peace & quiet of the location, and how close it is to beautiful areas. Plus our dogs love the setting.
Stayed 3 nights. Cabin is well supplied and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the national forest nearby including Falling Waters road and waterfalls, richland creek valley, the Nars, Mcelroy Gap Rd, and other places
Everything worked in the house. Instructions were easy to follow. The location was located close to where I was hiking. Would love to book a week next time.
This cabin in the woods had everything we wanted for a short weekend getaway. One major issue though was the dog kennel located less than a mile away. We were sitting on the back porch and from the time we went out (7am) until the time we went back inside (10pm) the dogs did nothing but bark and carry on! No peaceful relaxing outside to enjoy the views. Other than that was a very well maintained cabin with all the needed supplies!
We enjoyed our stay in the early part of Autumn. Leaves were just beginning to turn color, but the beauty was showing through. The Cabin was great for us. I would recommend a bit of TLC to the outside furnishings by next Spring (picnic table too rough to use & paint flaking off the small tables, and pit needs caulking). Overall, we loved our visit & highly recommend as a great tuck away spot.
The cabin is the perfect spot to hideaway and enjoy the woods. Well stocked and comfortable. We very much appreciated that our dog was allowed to join us. The only negative was the barking dogs from the breeder down the road but it wasn’t constant and very minor. Enjoyable location.
The cabin was very nice and had everything we needed. The view was outstanding and the porches were very enjoyable. The smoker/grill was great and there was charcoal and wood available. There was a burn ban in effect so did not get to have a fire in the evenings but the patio with the fire pit was really nice. The only downside was the mile and a half of gravel road going to the cabin because we were on our motorcycles but knew that in advance. Would definitely stay there again
We had an amazing time here at the cabin. It had amazing views and was very peaceful and quiet. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. Directions where a little confusing but the host was quick at replying and made sure we got there! I will say to pack in groceries with the nearest grocery store being 30 minutes out, there is a DG up the road if you forget something! The hiking trails are something to never forget! The people in the town of Jasper are very nice people. We broke down twice and was immediately greeted with help! If we ever come back this way we will definitely stay here again!
This cabin is clean, well-stocked, and nicely situated near several hiking and scenic areas. We enjoyed the view from the back deck in the early mornings and late evenings as well as the ability to make a quick drive into downtown Jasper for restaurants. Check-in/out was easy, and we appreciated having the detailed directions on the way there. We were glad that the WiFi worked well in the cabin since we did not have any cell service. This would be a fabulous stay during foliage season!
Can't say enough good things about the cabin: clean, comfortable, cozy, well stocked and provisioned, nice fire pit, watching deer from the back porch was a bonus. We went for a girl's weekend and honestly we couldn't find one thing that could have been better. Would love to stay again in the winter and use the fireplace.
