About this property
Steps away from Lover's Point Beach
This cozy little beach house has everything you need for a carefree, peaceful vacation; complete with ocean view and just a short stroll to the beach, restaurants, coastline rec trail, Cannery Row and charming little town of Pacific Grove.
Located in the area of the Monterey Bay Sanctuary, it is teeming with seabirds and marine mammals. Ninety-four seabird species are known to occur regularly within and in the vicinity of the Sanctuary, including Brown Pelicans, Pacific Loons, Storks and Cormorants. The Sanctuary also has one of the most diverse and abundant assemblages of marine mammals in the world, including, whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, sea lions and sea otters. A view of the bay is offered from the living room windows along with occasional sightings of whales dolphins, porpoises sea lions or sea otters playing or swimming by. On some evenings, you can catch the moon rising over the bay casting magical moonlight over the water.
The "Sans Souci" (without cares) is on a quiet street but not without the occasional chirps, peeps and squawks of sea birds, barking sea lions or squeaky sea otters and the sound of ocean waves.
Though this location offers a quiet serene, atmosphere, it is just a block from Lover's Point Beach and the Beach House Restaurant which provides stupendous views of the bay and outdoor patio seating.
The Monterey Bay Coastal Rec Trail can be accessed about a half a block away from the house, and from there going southeast on the trail, it is a 1-mile stroll to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. This trail, with awesome views along the coastline, takes you to the Monterey Plaza, the Maritime Museum of Monterey, the historical Custom House, the Pacific House Museum, Fisherman's Wharf, along with many other historical sites and adobes and downtown Monterey.
Taking the short walk from the house to the main street of Pacific Grove, you'll enjoy the charm of many grand Victorian homes and quaint Victorian-era cottages. There you'll find many great and quaint eating establishments, including some great favorites for breakfast. Pacific Grove is known for its butterfly sanctuary and Victorian gingerbread homes, its coastline beauty and romantic, mystical quality. It is fondly referred to as "Butterfly Town USA" and "America's Last Hometown." The Pacific Grove Museum is just a block off the main street (Lighthouse Avenue). The local Farmer's Market, in Pacific Grove, is held on Mondays and is just a few blocks from Lover's Point Beach, or a short stroll from the Sans Souci.
Heading northwest on the rec trail, within walking distance is the Point Pinos Lighthouse, the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the Pacific coast of California.
This is a great place to relax and unwind, conveniently located within walking distance to interesting and enjoyable sites and scenes
