About this property
Charming Notting Hill Mews House
This beautifully refurbished house is in a very quiet residential mews on the border of Notting Hill and Bayswater, close to the designer shops of Westbourne Grove and the famous Portobello Rd antiques market. Queensway is just around the corner, where there are two tube stations (Central, District and Circle lines, all Zone 1) and therefore any part of central London is no more than 20 or 30 minutes away by tube. The Heathrow-Paddington Express and the Elizabeth Line connection is 15 minutes walk away. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are at the end of the road with the famous Princess Diana 'Peter Pan' playground only 5 minutes away. Kensington Palace, Princess Diana's former residence, is a popular attraction. London's main museums and the Royal Albert Hall are a short walk away on the other side of the park. Skating and bowling is available in Queensway. This area is renowned for fashionable celebrity restaurants, cafes and delis. Buses go from the end of the road to Marble Arch/Oxford Street and the Oxford Tube bus will take you direct to the city of Oxford (a very good day trip). Take a Santander or Lime bike through the Royal Parks to Buckingham Palace (30 mins) or stroll through Kensington Gardens this summer to see a Prom at the Royal Albert. This is the perfect central base to explore all that London has to offer. Finished to an exceptionally high standard, you will luxuriate in the airy comfort of this very special property. There is plenty of room to entertain local friends or just to chill out after an active day sightseeing.

Perfect location, perfect home and perfect host!
Our group of four recently stayed at Lancaster Gate for six nights on our holiday from Australia. I cannot fault anything about the property or our stay.
Sophie met us promptly to show us the property. She left milk, coffee, fruit, panettone and other provisions for us which was very welcoming after a long trip. There was plenty of information about nearby restaurants, pubs and shops and clear instructions on how to use the various appliances.
The home is beautifully furnished and with three bedrooms and two bathrooms really suited our group of four adults. The kitchen is well supplied with crockery, glasses and cooking utensils so we did choose to stay at home for meals some nights. The pubs in walking distance were also great value for dinner. Having a washing machine when you are travelling is also so convenient.
The home is really well situated near two tube stations and close to Kensington Gardens. It is in a charming row of mews houses. I really enjoyed getting up early and walking to the various shopping areas for my first coffee of the day.
Sophie’s attention to detail was really impressive. I would certainly recommend this property. I think we got enormous value for what we paid and we had such a great time in London with Lancaster Gate as our base.

Beautiful, accommodating, and comfortable flat. Fantastic location. Great place for holidays!
As a party of three we were very comfortable during our stay. There was plenty of space. The decor and furniture was inviting and pleasant. The natural lighting was incredible. Very high end appliances which made our stay even more comfortable. We appreciated the hospitality Sophia and her family gave. It was nice space for our family to celebrate the holidays. You will not hear any city traffic off of this street, but it’s two and five minutes walking from the underground stations, close to the park. You also have access to connect to Netflix and Amazon prime streaming on the TV. We had an enjoyable time and will come back to stay!

fantastic, central option
Sophie is an excellent and accommodating host. This little place is perfect for travelers being in a central location, right near Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. Only steps away from the tube. The house had everything we needed and was perfectly stocked. Would definitely return.

Nice and charming Mevs house in a quiet street with no traffic , 50 metres from Hyde Park
We stayed one week with our 3 children ( 11 , 13 and 17 years old) in this charming newly refurbished high standard Mews house . 50 metres from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens . Perfect for jogging or relaxing after a busy tourist day . At the entry of the Park is a docking station for bicylcles where you can rent a bike for 2 Pounds per 24 hours . You can cross the Hyde Park , pass the Buckingham Palace and cross St James Park to the Horse Guards near Downingstreet and Westminster Abbey only on cycling paths .
Just around the corner is Queensway where you find shops , supermarkets , pubs and restaurant ( our kids loved the pizza from the restaurant Bella Italia ) . You find a good Bakery 26 Notting Hill Gate called Paul Rhodes Bakery
The house is situated in a mews street with no traffic at all .
We can only highly recommend this house and like to thank the owner Sophie Cook for her warm welcome and help .

About the host
Hosted by Sophie Cook
We are a local family who have lived in Notting Hill for many years and have a wealth of knowledge of the area. I am an artist and designer; my husband works in finance
Why they chose this property
We love the beautiful architecture and heritage of the area, as well as walking, running or cycling in Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The small independent boutiques of Notting Hill give the area a unique character
What makes this property unique
The living room with Venetian windows and barrel vaulting give the house its distinctive edge. The location of the mews is secluded and private, yet very central with great transport links to all parts of London, as well as Heathrow airport
