Great cottage with open water views of shipping channel!
Great cottage on quiet, dead end lane. Perfect for families or couples. Sit on the deck or green and watch the ships pass you by. Bathroom and kitchen have been updated. This is a quiet street of cottages with both weekenders and year-round residents. Our family has been coming to this special place on the river for my husband's entire 40+ years. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it.
There is a shared dock that you may swim or fish off of. The water is not deep. You will NOT be able to keep a boat at the dock-sorry.
There is a window unit AC.
Please bring your own linens.
This cottage is a 10 minute drive to Clayton, or about 15 minutes to Alexandria Bay

Everything was top notch. Owner friendly and very informative. Parents In Laws right next door. Exceptional vacation, hoping to go there again next year!!!!
My mom and I were looking for an affordable waterfront cottage to rent at the end of summer and our expectations were exceeded with this property! The cottage itself has a clear view of the water, was immaculately clean when we arrived, and situated on the end of a quiet residential street. We enjoyed sitting and swimming off the dock, bike rides and morning runs around the neighborhood, and playing games and eating meals on the deck outside. The nearby village of Clayton, which we had never visited before, offered cute shops, a nice waterfront path, and restaurants to try out (including a brewery and distillery right in town)!
Jennifer was a fantastic host, who made the reservation process easy and answered all questions I had leading up to and during our stay. We are so glad we found her rental and can’t wait to return in the future.
Due to Covid, we were not able to spend time with family in Florida as we do each August (my eldest attends college there and we typically extend the trip). We decided to head to the Thousand Islands for a few days to stay closer to home. I was looking for a quiet cottage on the river, but close to attractions. That is exactly what we got. The cottage was exactly as described. The street was very quiet and the neighbors were simply the best! We spent a lot of time just enjoying the view, watching the ships and the gorgeous sunsets. We also went on a boat tour, including Boldt castle and shopped the villages of Clayton and Alex Bay. The only thing that I would change would be to be able to swim right there, as we were hoping to. The bottom of the water was mucky. This didn’t detour us though, as there is a state park a mile up the road. Other than that, the cottage, location and overall trip was nearly perfect. Thank you, Jennifer, for a wonderful stay! I’m dreaming of heading back. Th only question that I have for myself is why haven’t I ever gone before?
The property is fantastic. It's a nice peaceful location near Clayton and Alexandria Bay for dining and shopping. The cottage was very clean and exactly as listed, I highly recommend it!

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer Brown
We are a family with 3 "tweenagers" and two dogs. We live in Texas, but are lucky enough to get to spend a great part of our summers in the Thousand Islands. There's no place we'd rather be.
Why they chose this property
My husband's grandpa purchased the cottage next door in 1975, and my husband has been coming to the river his whole life. His parents now own the cottage next door. When the neighbors decided to sell a few years ago, we simply couldn't pass it up. These places rarely leave families, because they are so special, and so full of memories and good times. We are so blessed to get our own space here at the river, and love getting to share it with friends and family.
What makes this property unique
While we won't be on site during your stay, we have family next door that can help in a pinch if something comes up.
Also, the views are the river are beautiful - there's a good chance you will literally see "ships passing in the night" during your stay.
